I had been dying to try this place as they're noted on some gluten free forums as super friendly for gluten sensitivities. I finally got my chance and I was NOT disappointed at all. Upon walking up they have brand new masks in a holder on the door, as they require masks inside their business. The lobby is quite small but it's takeout and delivery only. Hand sanitizer was easily available if you chose to use it as well. First off, their gluten free crust is available in all sizes not just individual like every other pizza place. So huge win here and a large gluten free pizza costs me less than an individual at mellow mushroom. I got a white pizza on the gluten free crust and added my 2 toppings. The young man behind the counter was beyond friendly, he was alone at the time and the phone was ringing off the hook, yet he had the best customer service. I let him know I'd wait outside in my car and return in the 15 minutes for my order. He came out to ask me a question about my order to clarify so he did it correctly, which was another huge bonus for me. Then before my order was even due he ran it outside to me. The extra mile he took even when he was obviously very busy makes a difference in how I view the level of service. He was outstanding, I wish I had gotten his name. Pizza was delicious too. I haven't ordered in many years and decided to try them again. It was bad. Hand tossed crust paper thin and burnt. Only 4 pieces of pineapple and about 5 pepperonis on the entire pizza. $27 down the drain. Now I am just angry that they got over on me again. read more

I recently moved to Altamonte Springs and craved pizza but didn't want to feel disgusting afterwards. I remembered several years ago loving this place and crossed my fingers that it was still open. I'm so glad it is and still just as amazing as I remembered! I was scoping out the photos and saw a photo of a pizza with toppings I would totally get: pepperoni, garlic and tomatoes. Lo and behold it was MY photo from seven years ago! I ordered the exact same thing seven years later and I was extremely satisfied. The new online ordering system was very easy to use and offers some deals not offered when you call. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! They were so nice at checkout and didn't charge extra for red pepper flakes like Pizza Hut does now. It's not the cheapest in town but doesn't make me feel absolutely disgusting afterwards either. We are repeat customers and will begin by saying that we have generally been very satisfied with the delivery service and the quality of the pizza. Tonight we ordered a Deluxe Specialty pizza. The first 2 pieces were very good, but then we noticed that the opposite half of the pizza had burned crust (not dark brown, but black) & several toppings were also burnt around their edges. My family loves this spot for some fresh hot pizza! Can't go wrong with any of their pizzas that you order. We always get it togo, so can't say much of how it is inside but the service is always fast and friendly. You can create your own pizzas but we always order off the specialty section- such a wide variety of choices! The chicken spinach Alfredo is really good or the BBQ chicken is great too. They only have this one location but I wish they'd open more. You can order online and they usually have deals going on daily. I'll definitely keep on returning here- it's too good not to! read more

This Pizza joint is incredible! I ordered from them a few weeks back and fully expected it to be similar to a few other local shops. Boy, was I wrong. We ordered the BBQ Chicken pizza and their new Cheesesteak pizza. I honestly couldn't tell you which was better. Both were so unique and flavorful. Their ingredients tasted fresh and they gave a heavy handout with their toppings. Only drawback is that I thought they were a touch pricey but did find several coupons on their website which was nice. I'll be ordering from here again soon and trying something new. From the outside; Specialty Pizza appears to be one of the many local Mom and Pop locations claiming New York style pizz, but few are able to replicate the famous pizza found on virtually every northeastern street. This is not to say the food is actually bad, it's just not the style people seek. Specialty Pizza however; is almost another category altogether. These owners obviously recognized that they didn't need to reproduce NY pizza. Instead they realized that fresh, quality ingredients are the key to delicious and healthier foods that people will be enjoy on their own, regardless of style. I am not exaggerating when I say that; if you decide to try Specialty Pizza; without specific expectations of what it "should" taste like, I believe you will be extremely pleased and pleasantly surprised. So technically, I have never eaten here. Because the time we tried to order, I believe it was around Red Hot and boom, and they refuse to deliver to my house. I was extremely upset because I am nowhere near cranes Roost. we are closer to Kohl's and they give us the excuse because of what's happening in Altamonte that day and the traffic is too heavy. Still within about 2 miles 2 1/2 miles of Restaurant nowhere near the heavy traffic area. I asked to speak to a manager and they were very rude. I'm hoping that it has changed, but we haven't tried that experience. read more

Caleb was fine but Cat, manager(?) Hung up on me. The website wouldn't allow me to choose the size and style of pizza so I called in. I explained to Caleb the online ordering issue and he asked Cat if they could honor the 50%...she denied it. She actually got on the phone and proceeded to tell me the site was working fine and she would not honor the 50%. I got frustrated, said I'll just call Marco's (I ordered online with them without issue). I've never had so many problems with a pizza joint. I've never had so many issues online ordering than with yours. And finally I've NEVER had restaurant managers just not even care about losing an order, or a customer, as Specialty Pizza. read more

I work across the street from this pizza place and my coworkers decided they wanted to order from here for lunch. I have really high expectations for pizza due to loving a pizza place back home in Massachusetts. I haven't found a pizza place that hits my heart in my 4 years here. With that being said, this is the best pizza I have had since moving to FL. The crust is crunchy, doesn't have a weird after taste and it's SUPER CHEESY! The veggies were so fresh and the pizza was still super hot when we picked it up. We ordered during lunch at 12 and it only took 15 minutes for 4 personal pizzas to be ready which was so nice as we had a short lunch that day. The prices are also super reasonable; $6 for a good size personal pizza??? Count me in... I will for sure be back to this place; hopefully soon!! read more

It was a Sunday afternoon and we broke up for our lunch break. I was attending a workshop and almost everyone had agreed on Indian food, but I just had an extremely annoying craving for a slice of cheesy, greasy pizza, only one slice, that is all. While everyone got on their car and drove east, I went on my lonesome on the opposite direction. Specialty Pizza Express had a great rating, plus the word "express" gave me hope in regards to being able to score ONE slice of cheese pizza. But I was wrong. When I walked in SPE, I did not see any ready to go pizza, so I thought, "Ugh, there goes my pizza combo". Instead, a nice young lady informed me that all the ingredients they use are natural, and that the pizza is made to order. Being a dedicated student of life, I knew that "when they give you lemons, you make lemonade", so I ordered a Pizza Margherita and waited for 15 minutes. The weather outside was nice but the A/C was better, and the wooden bench where I waited wasn't too uncomfortable. In those 15 minutes, only a delivery guy walked in, as well as another customer picking up her order. This is a quiet place. My order came up, I paid, got on my car and drove into a shaded wooden area, with my pizza on the passenger seat. I parked, leaned my seat back and enjoyed my meal. Woah, this is good pizza. A nice blend of cheeses, a nice crunchy crust, not exactly hand in hand with the pizza trends but nevertheless delicious. A little bit of crushed red pepped and boom!, half a pizza is gone. Am I lucky or what? Squirrels played around me, birds were flying and calling for mates, and the canopy looked like a kaleidoscope. I am blessed. Back at the workshop, I put my pizza in a fridge, and smiled throughout the rest of the evening. That was some good pizza. read more

We have ordered from Speciality Pizza for about 6 years now- not sure why it's taken me so long to review! During this time we have very rarely had a bad experience and the very few times we have had issues (wrong type of pizza, late delivery) we called and they remedied immediately. The food is very good & extremely consistent - we always get hand tossed pizza and wings. Individuals that take orders via phone are very pleasant and the delivery folks are always very respective (especially Adam - he is a fixture with our deliveries and always friendly, considerate and kind). The delivery was decent and everyone was very polite but the quality was not! I ordered large pepperoni and large chicken (added olives for additional $1.99) both with light sauce. There were several problems - the sauce was not light - there was more sauce than cheese. And it tasted like a jarred pizza sauce. The cheese barely covered the pizza. Mathematically probably 1/4 of the crust was not covered in cheese. For an additional $1.99 for olives, we got probably a total of 1 and a half olives spread throughout the pizza. Some slices had 1 pathetic olive slice. The chicken was dry and did not taste fresh. Two large pizzas with delivery and tip for $30. Publix frozen pizza tastes much better and a lot cheaper. Btw - avoiding gluten has no heart benefits for people without Celiac disease, and it may mean consuming a diet lacking heart-healthy whole grains, according to a 25 year study (https://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/celiac-disease/news/20170502/eating-gluten-free-without-a-medical-reason). The food was hot when it arrived only because we are 5 minutes from the store. We paid for garlic butter which the driver forgot and was told that he would run back and get it. After waiting 25 plus minutes we had to go to the place and pick it up with no apologies and a bad attitude from the front clerk. Low and behold 45 minutes later the driver returns and throws the garlic butter on the ground and knocks on the door. (I have this on camera) So I called to the store to report the driver only to get hung up on by the person calling themselve the manager. We order from them at least 3 times a month but I wont spend my money at a place that treats it's customers with disrespect. You have seen the last of my business. read more

I've actually tried Speciality Pizza in the past a few years ago, after hearing good things about it and seeing the Speciality Pizza delivery cars around town. I hadn't been back because since then my family has been eating gluten free. I looked up their menu online and to my surprise they did offer GF pizza. The GF pizzas come in the 12" medium only. Also the menu stated you can use any of the typical pizza coupons for GF, but it was a $3.50 up charge. We ordered the 12" cheese pizza with extra cheese and a side of 12 buffalo wings. Our total for carry out turned to be around $22. After ordering over the phone, they said it would take about 15 minutes for it to be ready. They did not disappoint and it was ready super fast. The pizza was actually really good, only thing is I would have liked the crust and bottom to be a bit more crispier, like an NY pizza. But it really wasn't bad tasting for it to be gluten free. Next time I might just do a 1 topping instead of the extra cheese. The buffalo wings were delish and came with a side of ranch dipping sauce. Also, Speciality Pizza prides themselves in fresh organic ingredients. I'll probably be back if we are craving a pizza again. read more

This is pizza was amazing! I should start off by saying I follow a low carb diet so when I read the menu and saw you can add cauliflower crust to any pizza I knew I had to try it. I officially don't have to make pizza at home anymore if I have a craving. The Chicken Basil Pesto pizza on cauliflower crust was great and I got some garlic butter to go along with it. I'm honestly shocked at the number of reviews comparing this place to awful chain pizza places like Dominos and Papa Johns. I am *notoriously* picky about pizza and this is probably the second best pizza I've ever had (not counting super gourmet pizza places, of course). We've ordered delivery from here over a dozen times this year alone, and they're almost always on time. The two times they arrived 'late' (never more than 10-15 minutes outside of the promised window), they gave us $4 back in cash, even when we paid with a card. A bit off-putting, yes, but it's nice that they stand by their delivery times that much. We usually order hand-tossed cheese pizza or hand-tossed pizza with beef as a topping, plus an order of their ABSOLUTELY AMAZING alfredo breadsticks. I will agree with the one review that I saw that mentioned their ratio of, shall we say, exposed crust, because as someone who's not a HUGE fan of pizza crust on its own, I do wish there was less of that on their pizza. But that's not to say the crust is BAD, and honestly everything else about their pizza is so good it's easy to overlook that. Recently we did place our usual order and somehow received a thin crust pizza instead of hand-tossed. We didn't notice until several minutes after the delivery person left, and we were also starving, so we took it in stride. The thin crust pizza is also good, though I'm not the person to ask about that because thin crust isn't my thing. Regardless this has become 'my' pizza place since I moved to Altamonte Springs and they'd be hard pressed to mess that up at this point ;) read more

This is another place I learned through my co-workers. I give this pizzeria 4.5 stars. They use natural, fresh ingredients. I usually get the super vegetable pizza. It's loaded... I mean loaded with all types of veggies: tomatoes, broccoli, olives, mushrooms, green peppers, and the list keeps going. They offer a wide variety of toppings and specialties. So, you will find something you like. It doesn't matter to me if pizza comes from the frozen sections of the dollar store. But....seriously this place is fantastic! For me, four stars still is right for Specialty Pizza. I picked up a pizza here this past Sunday night and it was just as good as the ones I've had from here many times over the years. It definitely is a step up from chain pizzas (Pizza Hut, Papa John's, etc.) and at much less cost. I had a coupon for a large one-topping pizza for under $8, so that's what I used on Sunday. I don't know for sure what that'd cost at Pizza Hut and so on, but I'm guessing it'd be at least $10. Specialty Pizza is better and costs less. The customer service here is great. The employees always have been friendly. They especially were this past Sunday; when I presented the coupon I was using, they told me to keep it and use it again in the future. Supposedly I can keep using it until they discontinue it ... so, bonus! I'll take it. I hope to be back again soon ... definitely need to make this a more prominent member of my pizza rotation. I usually order pizza from Marco's, but since I had a coupon put on my door that expired on New Years Eve, decided to try a new place. I ordered the large pizza with two toppings for $10.99 and I even added an additional topping for $2.50 and had it delivered (pepperoni, hamburger and extra cheese). There was so little meat and regular amount of cheese on the pizza that my guests had to ask me what toppings we ordered because there was only a couple of morsels of meat on each and didn't look like extra cheese either. I took a picture of this. Needless to say, we will be ordering from Marco's again, or somewhere else from now on.
