I love this spot, the vibe and how cozy it is! The food is great, my go-to items are the ay chihuahua wrap, Farmer's Harvest salad, or Honey Brisket panini. Other items off their menu are good as well, those are just my personal preference. And don't even get me started on the vegan matcha cookies. So. Good. No matter what you order, those are definitely a must and the perfect treat to end a great meal. In terms of teas, I can't say I've tried many but I do love their Arnoldo Palmer (I usually opt for it made with their daily steep). If you're coming for lunch, as I usually do, I recommend ordering for pick up. It's a popular spot but there isn't a lot of seating, especially since this a good spot for students to study. Its located in a small plaza so parking may sometimes be an issue, but I've gone often and this has only been an issue once. Most notable thing: tiny place! There was so many people on a sunday afternoon and no places ro sot and enjoy the food unfortunately but thats good for them and bad for me ;). When we walked in we were greated and I explained that it was our first time here. The lovely person at the register went ahead and explained some of their teas, her favorites, and recommended some food options. I went ahead with an iced green tea and their coconut tofu warp. Ughhh that warp was soooo good!!! I was making a mess everywhere trying to take it all in, it was delicious! Must try! But unfortunetely and most importantly the tea didnt hit the spot for me. Loved this place! Its a hidden gem in a small plaza, it was my first time here tonight, i found it on yelp since i was craving a chai latte and a small bite. And yes, there's free Wi-Fi. If you're like me and just can't focus at home, this place is a godsend. Between their caffeine-packed teas (although they have plenty of caffeine-free blends as well), the public printer, and general good vibes, this place is a haven for anyone cramming for a major exam. The service is absolutely top notch; you'll have a tough time finding a place that treats its customers better. The staff is full of personality and always seems happy to see you, and in the rare case they make a mistake with your order, they make sure it's corrected promptly and that you leave the building happy. The only minor issue with the place is, as a cafe near a major university, the place is usually packed, and with limited seating, you can sometimes have trouble finding a place to sit down (especially if you're bringing a group). Super cute little lounge spot! Came with my brother and sister in law (who's a raw vegan), and she thought I'd love it so I said, "why not?!" It's right next to FIU (currently next to the youth fair, which has a pretty good visual of some of the rides lol). The vibe when you go inside is super loungy, very relaxing with the very spacious lime green sofas and chairs by the window. There is also a high table which is cool for working on your laptop, doing schoolwork or whatever you prefer. It definitely had a cool college vibe to it, almost like something in a movie. I ordered the pesto chicken bowl which came with chicken, pesto sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, brown rice and quinoa. I also ordered a watermelon boba green tea. My brother ordered the chicken pesto panini which is the same thing I ordered but instead inside a French baguette. My sister in law ordered a wrap and a green tea. I only tried my ordered and a bite of the panini, and they were both super delicious! That pesto gave my bowl so much flavor and just everything mixed together was just too good to even describe, you'd just have to try it for yourself, haha! My boba tea was also super yummy, I'm a huge fan of boba because I love chewing on those tapioca balls! Searching for a healthy light lunch in the Westchester area, a friend and I landed at the Special Tea Lounge. We reviewed some pretty positive yelp reviews and were ready and eager to eat!! The restaurant is a decent size with booths, sofas, and a couple of outdoor tables and they also advertisevorganic and locally grown ingredients. Teas are the speciality here as you'll find a wide selection of different teas and a self selection area near the counter. Food was on our minds though as we browsed through the menu and discovered how most items were available 4 ways; in a baguette, bowl, panini or salad. The Tapenade Toast with mozzarella and olives was delicious with the fresh hot pressed baguette making all the difference. The chicken bacon ranch baguette and the Hunny Brisket spinach wrap were our other choices and were each equally delicious with the freshness of the bread making all the difference again. Would definitely like return to sample some of the other sandwich options, some more Tapanade Toast and perhaps some Boba Tea. read more

I LOVE this hidden gem of a place! In an area of very limited great food options, specialTEA lounge, stands out. They have tons of coffee and tea options, and some really delicious food options. Great place for vegans and vegetarians as all the sandwiches can have TVP (textured vegetable protein) in place of the meat. As a vegetarian, the ay chihuahua! is my favorite!! I have to say, the service really stands out here too. The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful in helping you to decide what to order for drinks and/or food. I've also had a few incidents now where my coffee or tea was taking longer than expected or they made an error and therefore had to remake it. Even though I wasn't remotely concerned or had even complained about it, the staff is proactively apologetic and offers a cookie to make up for the time. That is top notch customer service! The only downfall here is that the space is so small. Often times, you will come here and there will be no where to sit. There are a couple of booths, but a lot of students come here from FIU and will sit there for long periods of time while studying. I really wish that they could expand and become a bigger place. The interior is very small, but cute and home-y. You can also find FIU students studying or playing board games. There isn't a lot of seating, but I haven't seen it as an issue when I'm there. But once inside, it's a real cool chill spot for just hanging out and grabbing something to eat and drink. I couldnt pick exactly what I wanted to eat so I chose the buffalo chicken wrap and chicken bacon wrap. Typical Portions sizes, not too small or big. The chicken bacon ranch was definitely my favorite of the two. They did honor the free bag of chips with a check in from yelp. Prices were a little on the upper end for a wrap. We're from California/Las Vegas, where the Asian style boba (bubble tea) is almost as common as Starbucks. We were visiting for 10 days and we started to have withdrawals. It was 10:30 pm on a Tuesday night. Not many options in Hallandle for a late night boba escape so we took to Yelp and scoured the area for anything open late. We saw a couple, but what really caught our eye was the number of reviews and the shiny 4.5 star rating this spot had. We cringed a little bit when we saw that it was 22+ miles away and maybe a 40 minute drive? We shrugged our shoulders and remembered that you only live once, so we got in the car and let Google Maps guide the way. The small shop was packed all the way up until closing time. The menu for us was a little disappointing, it wasn't expansive or exotic with their bubble tea flavors. I recall them offering about 9 American flavors and maybe about 3 Asian flavors. I was bummed, but I sucked it up and decided to order the vanilla chai latte with boba and my husband ordered a green tea blended with boba. VANILLA CHAI LATTE WITH BOBA- it was surprisingly good. Perfectly sweetened and had a full bodied chai flavor. I'm also glad I was able to choose soy milk. It semi-reminds me of a smoother and creamier Starbucks iced chai latte, but with boba! My husband loved my drink more than his own. We both really enjoyed it. RATED: 4/5 BLENDED GREEN TEA WITH BOBA - this drink was standard. It had smooth, creamy consistency and a mellow green tea flavor. Not too bold and not too bland. The green tea ice blended from coffee bean is probably better though. Truthfully, we both wanted to swap it out for the chai latte but we didn't have the guts to do it. RATED: 3/5 GREEN TEA CROISSANTS - 1st impressions it was dense and the edges were crumb-like. However, after we cut into the center, we realized it was filled with green tea flavored cream cheese. Every bite that included the filling was really tasty. My only complaint is they should be more generous with the filling. RATED: 4/5 TARO CROISSANTS - Same as the green tea, but we loved this flavor more.
