My office contacted Certified Coffee Service, Inc. to replace our Spring water bottled water cooler.
"Capt Gary" told my company, he would install a Reverse Osmosis water cooler for a flat rate of $30.00 a month, No contract, No installation charge, and would change the filter once a year. He stated clearly that " if we didn't like the water we take to the cooler away, they didn't want to do business with people who don't want to do business with them."
When he arrived for the instillation on May 9, 2018 he was left to install the cooler. In good faith we paid the invoice, $227.90 in advance for monthly service through the end of the 2018, the next 7 months of service plus tax ($12.90) and a fuel adjustment ($5.00). - The invoice clearly stated that the cost of install was $0.00, and there was no delivery fee.
When he pulled he asked to talk to the principals of our company, he started a sales pitch that if he understood a little more about what our company did, he could help send client's our way. We declined.
Once installed the cooler daily, made an annoying noise that was heard around the office. It made it impossible to concentrate on your work while sitting at your desk, additionally the water did not have the fresh taste that our bottled water did.
As we explored for what the problem was, we noticed that there was no filter on the cooler. Turned out there was a small single filter under the sink, so small we didn't ever see it. For anyone who doesn't know, (as we learned the hard way) reverse osmosis system has multiple stage filters, not just one small filter.
When my office called and told him to remove the cooler, we were given a song and a dance. At least 2 calls were made to tell the company to come pick up the cooler.
When the company finally did remove the system (May 17th, 2018) a receipt was provided to us by the people picking the system up charging is for installation ($92.50), Removal of Alpine Water Cooler ($28.50), Everpure water Filter ($67.50), and travel to location ($6.50x2) - a total charge of $201.50
This is wrong on so many levels, from not installing what was promised to, representing that there was no risk to try out the system, to charging me for items that we never agreed to pay after we cancelled the service. As I look at the yelp reviews I now notice that one of the two reviews is from the person who owns the company. The office address is a P.O. Box. These should of all been RED FLAGS
I guess I should be expecting a refund check for $26.40 for now that I have paid $201.50 for less than 8 days of use. I will believe it when I see it.
