It's a really nice bike store in a nice area with nice parking and nice employees. I have been here a number of times over the years. I have a Roubaix Expert. Depending on when you stop in--how busy it is--that will determine how much help you receive if you need help. If you stop in on the weekend like I have sometimes--not much attention or you will have to wait and still they won't have a lot of time for you. I usually on come on the weekends when I know what I need and don't need help. It's kind of like the car dealer--weekends are crazy busy and they need to concentrate on customers who seem like they are going to buy. It's the bike sales and service that keeps the lights on--you understand that. If you stop in during the week like I did last week on a Thursday at 2 PM--I received a ton of attention and good advice on saddles. There were few customers in the store. While I did not end up purchasing a saddle that day, the information I received from the salesman that knew a lot about saddles was helpful in me finding a solution to my problem. I am very appreciative that he took the time to educate me on saddle technology and the differences in all the Specialized saddles and how to set them up. If you are shopping for a quality bicycle at any price level over $500--definitely put this store on your shopping list. But try to come Monday to Thursday to get the most attention. read more

*Disclaimer* both my bikes are specialized so while I may be biased on bikes, I am not on shops. This is a high quality shop that offers great service and great group rides. I am thankful they are so close to home! Unfortunately the vibe at some shops can be condescending and can make even serious riders feel inadequate; this shop is not that at all regardless of your level. Came her for the first time looking to either by my 17 year old son a new bike or get his Specialized refurbished. All staff was very welcoming and I was assisted in a timely fashion. The facility is very nice. Due the pandemic (like everywhere else) they didn't have what I wanted in stock- no biggie. Went to the repair shop side of the store. I wanted to have a big service performed on my son's bike but was informed of what I needed and ended up agreeing on a less expensive option that they recommended-wow! A service oriented shop not allowing me to just pay them more money because I want to-they listened to my needs and made recommendations. It was nice to not be "taken advantage of". These guys are the nicest people when it comes to a bike shop. On the commute home, tire went flat they answered the phone right away and told me bring it in and that it will be 10 minutes. Super happy with my experience at this Specialized location! The store is nice, clean and organized as you can see from my pictures. Definitely has an inviting vibe as you pull up to the store. The staff all seem really down to earth and my interaction with Elijah was great. After I completed my purchase, he was extremely thorough in walking through all the features of the bike and assisted patiently with the initial setup. Took about 1 hour and 15 mins and it was time well spent. I wish I came by earlier as I didn't get a lot of time to check out the store before closing time. Anyhow, I am a happy camper riding my newly acquired toy, and will likely stop by this store more frequently! This is a shoutout to the guys that helped me get my bike back to normal. Forget his name but gentleman with long hair and the mechanics were extremely polite and top notch with their knowledge as well as helpfulness. The gentleman with long hair saw my bike needed a slight tweak with seat angle and explained to me why it was important and how it can benefit me. And what he said was true as I did lose speed after 50 miles or riding due to my poor seat adjustment causing me to feel numb and cramp, to no fault of me. I'm extremely happy with my Roubaix S Works. It has taken over my preferred bike to ride over the Pinarello Dogma F10. Excellent customer service! The people and mechanics here are so friendly and welcoming. MAX is the best! He's great with following ups, and attention to details and helps with questions on my SL Levo. He is personable and always has a great attitude. They have a great selection of bikes and accessories, too. I bring my ebike here for servicing and software updates. The mechanics here are so professional. Great bike shop! Marisa was the very nice lady who helped us out. She was very friendly and professional. She knows a lot about the products selling in the store. I don't even know how many questions my wife and I asked her, but she answered all of them. She was very patient with us! Unfortunately, we ended up not buying any mountain bikes there today. The selection on mechanical bikes wasn't much. Specially now that they are in such a high demand. They did have a lot of electric bikes and two full-suspension bikes on the floor. Also, they do have lots of biking accessories! Lots of them. Prices on bikes are what you would except, you are paying for the quality and performance, so it is worth it to invest in a good bike. Parking is small and gets full really quick! But, you can still find parking in the shopping center next to it, if you don't mind walking a minute more. read more

A friend turned me on to this shop and set me up with Kemritte. Nothing but high praise for their craftmanship, professionalism and timeliness. He went above and beyond to find me the perfect bike for my height and the type of riding I wanted to do. As a girl it can be intimidating but he was very patient and showed me how to care for my bike and do adjustments if needed on my own. It has been a personal struggle to be back on a bike and Kemritte was amazing and help put me at ease even tho I was so anxious at first. Overall my whole experience today was phenomenal! Bought a Stumpjumper Evo Pro Jan 2023. They said they would match Rock n Road n give me back 2% of my total purchase in store credit. What they neglected to share was it had to be Specialized branded products. When I went back to buy non-Specialized components they said "sorry can't apply credit". Pretty lame and a bit deceptive. Came in to ask a question, was told it was too complicated to explain. Brought in the part was told they would take care of it, came back and charged me $10 without notifying me there would be a fee. This is a great shop. I took my bike here for a dropper post issue a few years ago and they treated me right. The post was pretty much toast but they were able to help me get a discounted replacement. I also did a fork and shock service here. Frank took care of me here. I absolutely love this store and the staff! I am a die hard Specialized owner and I was thrilled when they decided to open a local store! I needed to get a pair of flat MTB shoes for my father and they went out of their way to find the ones I needed in the size I needed. I also attend their monthly donut ride and have been on almost every one they have hosted. It is such a wonderful group of people and they provide yummy donuts (vegan options also!) and coffee for all the cyclists who attend! They truly are such a lovely addition to the community! Don't go here. Got bait and switched by the employees here. Went in to get a bike regripped as an essential service on Thursday February 24, for $199. They told me it would take until Monday so I asked if paid more I could get it sped up so they told me I could do the annual service for $279 and they would get it done by Saturday. Guess who didn't get to pick it till Monday. Point less. They just screwed me for an extra $80. Only doing this cause I could tell none of them have a shit. But they should care about they're customers. I'm just not getting that vibe. read more

Customer service was extraordinary. My friend has been bringing me along to a bunch of different shops to buy his first road bike. The facility is also well-designed and inviting. You definitely feel like you're in a more up-scale shop with how everything is laid out. From the start, the employees acted highly approachable and knowledgeable. We were there three times in total before my friend ended up making a purchase. You don't feel any pressure to buy no matter how many times we visited. They never asked us about price range and were super happy to put on pedals to let us try anything in the store whether it was a cheap model or had a sticker price in the 5 digits. Shoutout to Neil who was attentive and friendly each time. There was also another employee that helped us a lot our first time around that I unfortunately forgot the name of, but if you end up reading this you know who you are! Once you let him try out an SL7 with Shimano Ultegra Di2, he kept on thinking about that bike every day until he bought it today. I'm not sure exactly what my next is going to be. I bought a specialized roll elite bike for my wife I paid 1200 plus tax, After 2 Months of regular use maybe twice a week riding around North Irvine , She noticed some rust in different components, I contacted the store and without even looking at the bike they told me is not a warranty issue, instead they blame my wife for sweeting to much or for having the bike outside or riding it near the beach but none of those things are true, It's always in side the garage with other 2 bikes that I road in different terrain conditions and they are free of rust. I talked to Ivan the manager but he didn't care he blame me and instead of fixing the bike or start a warranty claim. Be aware of this store and brand very poor customer service and quality issues. Keeping the original review live below but some updates on recent experiences with this store. December 2021 Had to take a quick moment to write a shoutout to Marisa and Ivan at Specialized CM. Solid customer service, attentive, fun, friendly. Good vibes all around. Good people here. The shop is also stocking back up on essentials, bottles, gloves, saddles, apparel, gear - obviously the bike crisis continues but they are getting stuff in. I am seeing more in-stock availability of certain models, builds and sizes going to Specialized CM (InCycle is another shop that gets plenty of inventory love from Specialized) so that's a good thing. Important to note is they have a stellar service team with excellent mechanics. I service my own bikes but have come here for highly technical stuff with Diverge, they can fine-tune your DA or Ultegra group if you're struggling or first timing. Just solid. It's a great shop and a great representation of the best American bike brand today, you'll always leave asking yourself how to buy that S-Works rig. -- February 2020: I've been back to SCM a few more times since the initial visit and while I did experience another "off day" or sub-stellar experience, things seem to have improved. A few new guys in the shop (Jacob, Sam) are delightful. Great energy, knowledge and hands on customer care. Even if the brand does not have much available in the way of inventory, these guys are there to help, answers questions, talk bikes and generally, the experience was A+. I'm hopeful this continues for all customers and will keep checking back with the team. read more

I recently dealt with Eric, the store manager, and purchased a bike. He was very helpful and patient, spending as much time with me as necessary. It was a very positive experience and I would recommend the store. I found that other staff members, other than Eric, failed to follow through on a request and call me back and one other time failed to relay a phone message to Eric to call me. Ripoff alert!!!! Charged $30 to install a tire on a wheel (already taken off the bike). Threw in a bunch of Stans without asking as well. Didn't tell me the price beforehand. This store is a compelling reason for direct to consumer brands and online shopping. No reason to support shops like this. Screw this place and the idiots it employs. Go down the street to ProBike. Phenomenal Service and sales! Service: First experience months ago...I called Specialized and spoke with Quoc. He assured me they had experience with the QR. Took my pride and joy custom Quintana Roo CD-01 Tri bike in for a tune up. They did a beautiful job. It has been a couple years since I pretty much wrench my own ride, but needed a good mechanic for a full tune. She got a new chain and all cables and pieces and parts checked/tightened... When I picked her up they explained all that they did to her and gave me my old chain (on request). I'm liking this shop. Service: Steve (bike mechanic) made a spoke ON THE SPOT for my custom Reynolds wheels. They have these flat metal spokes. On a long ride I had just popped a spoke. Wheel immediately acted out of true and was rubbing the brake pads. Got a ride in our pick up and took her straight to their shop. Steve finished the project he was on and 10 minutes later was creating magic and made a spoke for my wheel. So impressed. And thankful. Super knowledgeable and talented mechanics. And I have taken her to several shops in several states over the last 5 years. Sales: While we were waiting on the spoke fix, we chatted them up about their gravel bikes. I've been immersed in the Tri community and hadn't heard of them. So off we went on a 54" and 56" bike for a test ride. Fell in love but not wanting to pull the trigger on that expense. They aren't cheap. In any way. Solidly great bikes but are they worth that investment? No pressure at all from the staff. We didn't buy. Yet. We returned to the shop. Had done a little research on the gravel bikes. Wanted to go on another test drive and see if this is an investment we wanted to make. We were working with Melissa at that time. She's also super knowledgeable and rides a gravel so got more REAL info. Jim returned to the shop. Bought the 56" diverge gravel with the Ultegra components, brick color. What a fabulous bike. I wasn't ready yet to make the leap. Every time we go in we are treated like family. We have worked with Ivan and Elijah and gosh I can't remember all of their names. They all know their inventory intimately as they all ride. All questions answered. When I got home I emailed them for the specs on the 54"bike. Has different components than the 56" Jim bought. And after more research I returned to buy her. Had come to the conclusion that this was a worthy investment! No doubts. After an intense ride in the mountains in Arizona and a fun ride on the trails up at Newport Ridge we were ready for the bike fitting. The fitting came at no charge with the purchase!! We were glad we took her on the (recommended) couple of rides first as we had quite a few questions. Ivan did Jim's fitting and Elijah did mine. Again - tons of questions answered and information shared we didn't even think to ask. If you look at my YELP reviews I'm straight forward and have shared both good, and bad, experiences honestly. Ordered brand new Specialized Vado 5.0 IGH - was delivered to local Specialized dealer - was messaged that it was ready - drove 30 min to dealer - was then told there was problem with head unit not communicating with Enviolo hub. We've now been waiting for over a week as it sits in Specialized warrantee queue. Chatted with specialized - they were no help. I would not recommend purchasing a bike from this Specialized store in Costa Mesa as the entire experience has been highly disappointing for a $5,000 bike. At the heart of the matter is the sketchy (offshore) finance company called Klarna that is endorsed and offered and promoted by the Specialized store. The customer support is non existent and the company will not even take my money nor do they have anyone to speak with and assist the customer. More infuriating is the fact that Specialized would represent and associate with such an inferior service company and furthermore Specialized has no ability to assist or help their customer and rectify the situation. Thumbs down on this whole operation and I will be taking my business elsewhere. I have never been treated so poorly by a company and had such low level and incompetent customer service. read more

I didn't end up buying anything, unfortunately. I'd love to make my next purchase there because the guys were so incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, patient, and passionate. Keanu talked to me for probably over a half hour about all the new fancy gadgets on the MTBs and gravel bikes. I really just wanted to upgrade the handlebars on my old 90's Schwinn mountain bike. They didn't have what I was looking for in their stock, but the knowledge I walked away with was worth the visit -- and so much more. Hopefully I can get back there and buy *something* I need, just to support their business. Great experience, and never any pressure to buy anything. 11/10 read more

I'm not currently in the market to buy a bike but was in the area and read all the reviews about the great customer service here. I just started cycling in May, really caught the bug and am already thinking about my next bike. Figured I'd come here to check out the top tier Specialized bikes, as well as get an idea of the current wait times/stock, but more than anything, to conversate with people who love riding. I don't know who helped me out, and to be fair, employees having to wear masks really counteract any friendly vibes coming from them. But anyhow, while this guys was perfectly nice, I wasn't at all impressed by the customer service. Perhaps I expected too much, but what I was expecting were employees who love riding and as a result, love to engage and conversate with others who feel the same. This guy didn't do any of that, despite me telling him things like I'm new to it, I love it, exploring different riding styles, etc - I thought at that point he'd engage, but I received mostly generic simple responses. And there was no one else in the store that he had to attend to. So this isn't really a complaint but more to say the customer service seems overrated by these yelp reviews, or maybe I just had the misfortune of receiving service from one of the less-enthused employees. read more

Easily the best bike shop I've been to and changed my perspectives of local bike shops just out to make a quick buck. The shop is almost like a full blown sports store for typical big brands, as expected of Specialized. I was blown back by this as I was used to cramped mom and pop stores for bikes, that were flooded with bikes on racks. Not to say that Specialized wasn't full of bikes, it was just spaced out better for displays. The customer service here is immaculate. The vibes from each worker are that they want to be here and to help you out, they know what they're doing and aren't just doing this for some extra income. Incredibly friendly and welcoming, even over the phone. The quoted me a week turn around time for tune ups, but if it's shifting or brake adjustments they'd turn around the same day (which they did!). They also offer a 30 day return policy, rewards program ($20 for every $1000 spent as of writing this review), and free shifting and brake adjustments for life on bikes bought from here. This made me start to see the value in buying a Specialized bike over other brands, considering they're at a premium! Let me start by saying I'm huge on customer service, and that I value when places go the extra mile. If you are interested in a new bicycle, come here first. Entire staff is friendly, helpful, and knows their stuff. They will get you dialed in whether you're new to bikes or are an enthusiast. I've purchased 2 bikes here between May and July of 2020, I'll never go anywhere else. Throughout the years I've only purchased used bikes, but back in May I decided it was time to check out a new Specialized Diverge. I was greeted by Melissa and she had me demo a top of the line model that was in my size, and made sure the bike I would be ordering would fit since it had just come out that day. She also had me check out some of last years models that had just been discounted. I went ahead and put a deposit down towards the bike I wanted and started the unfortunate COVID/spring supply chain waiting game. Well that lasted all of 2 days as I came back and bought a higher tier Diverge that was last years model at a discount. They had my Diverge set up how I wanted it within about 30 minutes. Been back several times to pick up things I've ordered, as well as some service done to the bike, and every time I'm greeted with knowledgeable employees who are experts at what they do, Steve and Quoc on the service side of things are excellent technicians. I recently went back to demo a Turbo Levo, after riding it, Ivan mentioned they just got some 2021 models in stock that weren't spoken for yet, almost wish he didn't mention that. I drove up from Huntington Beach and had a great road trip picking it up. My wife rode the bike when I got home and she wanted one also. This is one of the best bike shops I've visited, and it's definitely my favorite. I bought both of my bikes from this shop and I can't recommend them highly enough. The crew here are knowledgeable and passionate about cycling. They are all really friendly and not elitist bike snobs who only cater to other elitist bike snobs. These folks are down to earth and they want to make sure your bike is in top shape. Not to mention they are a Specialized factory store, so if they can help you pick out and buy a brand new Specialized bike (which are great bikes, btw), then they'll do what they can to make sure you get the right bike for you.
