Dennis is the most legit guy ever. My son was completely stuck with a broken front wheel and axle. Nobody could find him the parts or get a response from multiple vendors. We almost gave up and bought a new ebike. This went on for over a month. I walked in to ask if he could get some parts and he did a quick assessment on the damage. Dennis fixed the wheel, put all new bearings and lubrication, fabricated a solid axle(not hollow, which was OEM), changed both tires and tubes, and added the Tannis Armour tire liner to the tires. He did this all in front of me as a walk-in while we chatted. Took him like 20 minutes for it all. My son is back in business and you couldn't have seen a happier 13 year old. I brought my bike to this shop expecting professional service. What I got instead was a grossly inflated bill and work that didn't match what was promised. From the start, the pricing felt questionable, but I trusted their "expertise." That was a mistake. I was charged significantly more than quoted, with no clear explanation and no effort to get approval before tacking on extra costs. Even worse, the work they said would be done simply wasn't. The bike runs like dogshat. This shop seems far more interested in squeezing customers than standing behind their work. Barcelo came highly recommended to me from my contact at Campagnolo. i had a shift cable snap on me and needed a quick, reliable turnaround. this shop is a campy paradise! i don't trust my bike at a shop that doesn't do a lot of Campy work, and i'm riding Ekar a lot of miles so i get allllll of the wear and tear issues eventually. After contacting many bicycle repair shops and getting the runaround, it was so refreshing to meet Dennis who knew exactly what to do to fix my BH electric bike. Another bicycle shop nearby actually told me to get rid of the bike and buy a new one because I could not replace the current battery. Dennis not only had the battery rebuilt, but changed out the current lock on the battery because I didn't have a key. Thankfully, it didn't cost too much! I use to be a regular customer to Jax bikes. My current bike gears went out after the first month, and after an uncomfortable discussion they decided to warranty the gears. I always had shifting problems new , and after the replacement. They always tried to up sell me like " your spokes look corroded " " will warranty but with a service fee" etc....I took my bike to Barcelo and they replaced my shift cable WHILE I WAITED. Dennis did great work on a squeaky ceramic Carbon-TI rear hub on my wife's Cervelo tri bike. Pulled it apart, cleaned it, put in new bearings and parts, new grease, put it back together. All while chatting with me, fielding calls, handling other customers. Fixed a problem that had stumped 2 other bike shops. Got referred to Dennis by a former Endurance House bike mechanic as the local wheels expert. Seems like he knows his stuff. 38 years racing and riding say 13k miles per year. Over a dozen crashes. Former assistant controller for Texas Instruments. Reasonable prices. Say $75 for fixing my wife's squeaky wheel. Left my Kuota for repacking front and back wheel bearings (each have over 10k miles on them without refurbishment). Sorry there is just one Dennis. Have all my cycling buddies lining up to go see him. Thanking my lucky stars we do not need new $1900 Irwin wheels right away for the Cervelo. read more

If you're a woman at all I would steer clear of this place and recommend you find literally anywhere else. The last thing I felt was safe. From the moment I walked in they began to talk about how I looked despite me being there with my bike which I needed a new saddle for. Owner had a friend there too and they were drinking alcohol on the job. They spoke to me as if I had no idea how a mf bike works. It felt super demeaning and belittling. They wouldn't stfu about my legs and continued to make unnecessary comments. Again, the entire time I was there I felt very uncomfortable. Charged me fucking $20 for "labor." Just for putting my stupid new stupid saddle on that I bought. Should have told me before that it would cost $$. They had me ride my bike out from so they could see how the bike "looked" and they again were making comments about my body. read more

Dennis was awesome, I could tell right away he was honest, passionate about his craft, and wasn't looking to make a quick dollar off me. I was recommended to talk to Dennis by another bike shop?! That says a lot right there. So I loaded up my new old steed and drove 40 minutes to Costa Mesa. I was working on my first vintage bike restoration (Bianchi) and needed some guidance. I stopped by without notice and Dennis was very helpful and informative about the various nuances of older bikes. I ended up having him service the bottom bracket and rear axle as I didn't have the tools needed to do the work myself. But the best part was I got to watch him do the work up close.
