After almost giving up on finding a shop willing/able to have my Santa Cruz ready for a weekend trip, I was fortunate enough to find Dennis and Barcelo Bicycles! I expected to have my bike out a few days and he put it on the rack 1 minute after showing up at his shop! He was extremely friendly, quick and very reasonably priced. Please do yourself and visit him! You will not be disappointed. read more

I had been having such a hard time finding a repair shop my bike this year, as most bike shops are so busy. The one I originally was going to had a two week waiting period, which is obviously undesirable for an eager rider. I was fortunate to find a Barcelo Bicycles in a local advertisement and decided to pop in. I gave them a call before hand and the owner who is a professional cyclist himself, was really cool/easy-going and willing to look at it right away. It didn't cost an arm and a leg like the other place either! I would highly recommend. He was able to fix it while I waited. I popped on over to the little antique shop and found a few little gems. Also a big fan of the harp next-door if you want to grab a bite to eat or a drink while you wait. It's a great location! So happy to have my bike back in perfect working order! Thank you for the great service read more

Dennis and his team are truly the best. They are very knowledgable and will advise you on what is best for your bike. I brought my bike here multiple times and Dennis has worked on my bike on the spot. I can tell Dennis is truly passionate about working on bicycles because he has worked on my bike during after hours and even hours before opening just so I can get back on the saddle right away. read more

These guys are rad! Super friendly and knowledgeable. They're all about bikes here. Yes, it's a business, but they put the bike before the money. Thanks for continuing to help me out. read more

Incredibly passionate and fun store owner. With years of competing and real cycling experience this guy gave me so much time and attention despite my very little knowledge of cycling. I don't leave a lot of reviews but my 10 minute stop to get a tire fixed completely made my day. He replaced my inner tube, gave me advise on how to avoid doing it again in the future and hung out for a bit swapping stories. Seriously couldn't recommend this place enough. Thanks! read more

Dennis is awesome! I cracked the crank set on my bike and I needed it repaired ASAP for an event. I showed up to the shop and he immediately began looking for replacement parts. Even w bikes and bike parts being hard to find at this time, he found a replacement part and had the bike ready to go within 48 hours! Dennis will take care of you. read more

I have ridden and chatted with Dennis on a few group rides in the past, and he struck me as a personable and knowledgeable guy. Fast forward a few years later - bought a house in costa mesa, needed my wife and my road bikes serviced and he came recommended by other bike shops in the area. I called him up and we set up a time for me to come in with the bikes. I came with the bikes today and he was able to take care of both of the bikes quite quickly. His prices are reasonable as well. And we had a nice chat as well, confirming my initial thoughts of him years ago. Highly recommended read more

I came in to get an inner tube replaced on my cruiser. I called ahead and was told to come in 45 minutes. I was helped immediately when I arrived and I was out of there within 20 minutes. The seat was not attached properly, which I wasn't aware but the mechanic fixed it without me even asking. So glad I found a local shop providing excellent service at a reasonable price. I will definitely be back for future services and will be recommending them. read more

I found Barcelo via Yelp. I've now brought several bikes of our family in to be serviced, fixed etc. Always in and out quick, they always help me with my questions, very kind, helpful and a superb experience from a great local business. Stoked to have these guys. Taking a bike now to get tuned up and figured I'd let he world know how good these guys are. You're lucky to have these guys in Orange County. No place better. read more

This is the place to go to get a bicycle fixed. I managed to break the front derailleur on my Specialized Stumpjumper. Neither the local Specialized shop nor Two Wheels One Planet could fix it. Dennis fixed it within the hour. Great work, good people. read more

Very friendly, reliable, and easy to deal with. They diagnose issues quickly and solve your problems fast. Can't ask for more than that with a bicycle shop very good value read more

The owner Dennis stayed after for me and my girlfriend to get our bikes fixed and he recommended a study lock so our bikes are safe at the fair tonight !! He even helped us unload the bikes and reload them in the car and services them with a bungee cord!! He also saved us from a big spider in the store that probably came off my old ass bike that had spider webs on it. He even helped us set the password on the lock! I would say that is full service... Thanks again Dennis you're the bomb! read more

Dennis is the best. I went to 10+ places before finding Barcelo!!! Dennis fixed my tricycle in less then 30 Min after so many who basically told me it need so many thing and couldn't fix it. Dennis took a look and rightaway on the spot fixed it and I was on my way. Thanks a million. read more

Dennis is a one man shop which is a rare commodity today. His prices are lower than the other larger shops. He works on all my cruisers. Check him out for getting that rusty thing in your Sadie yard up and running. Travis. read more

I've been looking for a trustworthy mechanic who would handle my Colnago C59 with care. I made a visit to Dennis to check out a new wheel set. Instead, Dennis ended up overhauling my rear hub and cleaning my cassette. All of the free play is gone. Rides like new. I would go back and would highly recommend Dennis. Next time, I will ask for an estimate before proceeding with the service. The service fee was reasonably fair, but it's always better to know ahead of time. read more

After my 5th stop at other Bike Shops, Barcelo Bicycles was my last stop. Dennis and his staff were amazing. They replaced 3 inner tubes on 2 bikes, installed bike rack and 2 cup holders on the spot without a wait. One of the inner tubes failed 2 days later and they replaced it on the spot with no charge. They are the best Bike Shop in Orange County hands down! read more

Best Service in town ... Highly recommend his services Walked with schwinn road bike and road out feeling like I had a Bianchi after all the adjustment he made to my bike :) read more

LUCKY ME, LUCKY YOU..!..,Dennis should really be called "THE BIKE WHISPER'R" You'll know why, it only takes a few minutes, and you'll agree. Trust me, this guy lives and dies cycling. He has always made excellent suggestions & gets after me for not riding more. I grew up in this area & thrilled to now have a place & owner that I can totally count on getting me & my Carbon Trek (with the automatic gear shifting that Dennis installed and I absolutely Love..!) Or my newly acquired 29'er, which was another recommendation from non other than Dennis "The Bike Whisper'r". Thanks Dennis, for keeping this ole girl rolling & supporting the Fight against MS..! read more

Worked fast and were communicative. Person I interacted with made some machismo-ish comments. Bike was tuned up but tires weren't refilled and squeaky breaks weren't oiled. Not great. read more

Dennis took great care of me and my new bike today. Fast and friendly service with reasonable pricing. Highly recommended.

I'm sitting here right now with Daniel...the owner of Barcelo Bicycles. We have been here at his shop for almost an hour, chatting and watching him fix my boyfriends bike. This is THE BEST bike shop in OC. He's incredibly hospitable and charming! He really knows the business and is passionate about his work! If you need any work done on a road bike, beach cruiser or even for a chat you must come here! Thanks for the beers! read more

Barcelo bicycles is amazing! Over the summer, I bought a bike still in the box the day before 4th of July. I called Dennis over at Barcelo Bicycles and asked if it would be possible for him to build it for me within the day. Dennis made no promises but said he would try. Anyways I got a call from Dennis just a few hours later and he said he got it done! Thank you Dennis! Having my bike for the 4th of July was great! read more

This shop is a locally owned business with knowledgeable and helpful staff. They were able to fix a broken spoke on my wheel in a short time and very efficiently. While the shop is small, the experience and professional attitude is fantastic. read more

Outstanding service with personal touch. Top notch work. Dennis mentioned taking groups on weekend bucket list rides. Looking forward to that. read more

My review is a couple weeks late, but the service was so solid I had to bring myself to finally take the time to make this review. I called Dennis ahead of time seeking a quote for a tune-up in hopes of resolving an issue with my chain, and he was quick to ask to see the bike to if he could save me the cost of a full tune up if it were a small issue. I brought my bike in and in about 15 minutes, my bike was ready to ride again. Add to that how friendly Dennis was, and the conversation we had made that time fly by. Highly recommended, this will be my new go-to. read more

Thanks for being so knowledgeable and fast diagnosing and fixing my gear shifting problem. So glad your shop was recommended to me.

I was a walk up customer and Dennis gladly took me in to work on my beat up Schwinn "Riverside" Beach Cruiser. It needed new breaks, gears (7 speed), chain, and alignment. The repair was completed in a day and as fair of a price you can find around town. I rode the bike home a few miles after picking it up and it felt brand new! I will be taking my work here from now on in the future! read more

Dennis helped me out today and was very honest and upfront on what I needed to get done to my bike. He didn't try to up sell me on anything and got my bike working as good as the day I had it. He carried on good conversation while he worked on my bike and answered any questions I had. I will definitely be back! read more

Came in to get rid of a noise I was hearing with my bike and fix up 3 tires. One of the tires was fixed improperly, and I had to bring it back. Then they called me in to pick up the bike, and the noise was still there. They kept me for over an hour while they tried to fix the noise, and it remained at the end, and in fact, I hear different new noises when I get back. Charged me full price despite doing such shoddy work. I literally have to bring it into another shop as my bike came out of this tune up worse than I brought it in read more

The owner is AWESOME! He's super honest, trust worthy and gives a fair price. He's the type of guy who will go the extra mile for you because it's the nice thing to do and he wants your bike to be perfect. I won't be going any where else. read more

Best Bike shop ever. I called for an appointment and was told for a flat just come by and they could fix it while I wait. Within 30 minutes I was on my way with a new tire and tube installed and gears adjusted. Price was very fair and people there are pleasant. This is my go to bike shop from now on. read more

I have been stopping into Barcelo Bicycles for over 1 year and I am always 100% satisfied that I made the right decision to get a repair, part or advice from the owner, Dennis Barcelo. My road bike is running like new without being talked into expensive upgrades. Dennis rewrapped my handlebar tape a few months back and it added some pizzazz to my dull setup. I consider it always time well spend when I can pick his brain for ideas and advice. As an older rider turning age 60 in 13 days I appreciate Dennis expertise, location and free spirit. read more

Spoke with Erick and was great. Saved me money by tuning instead of replacing parts. Works on two of my bikes. Great price and service!

I've brought my bike to Barcelo three times for service - from a complete overhaul to fine tuning. Each time Dennis has done a remarkable job in terms of workmanship but also in sharing his passion around biking. read more

Very helpful if you ride high end road bikes. Dennis has an endless amount of know how and advice on how to ride and repair these bikes. If you prefer mountain, leisure, ebikes, there are other bike shops to find. He is a true road bike purist. read more

I came here a few days ago to fix my daughter's small bike. As soon as I met Dennis I knew he was a people person with professional experience. I highly recommend Barcelo Bicycles for all your bike needs. I contacted Dennis to see if he repairs beach cruisers. He responded very quickly and let me know my options and pricing. The best part was Dennis said he can come to me to replace my tires and inner tube. I'll definitely be returning here. Thank you Dennis! read more

Great local find. Stopped in to have spoke replaced, did job while watched. Dennis, the owner, walked me thru what he was doing, why, and what I should watch out for in the future to avoid more serious maintenance issues. Spent time carefully trueing the wheel when done with the spoke replacement and then inspected gears for uneven wear. Will be going here first for all my future bike needs. read more
