It was time for our kiddos to get new bikes. In the past we've always just ordered online or picked one up at a random store like Target, but we were ready to buy a proper bike for them. Initially, we went to another shop down the street and had a negative experience. There really wasn't much help or guidance, style and color options weren't very interesting and the gentleman who helped us just seemed irritated with us. My son had an idea of what he wanted and didn't find it at their store so he was bummed out and uninterested. We didn't want to give up so we went to two wheels one planet and within 10 minutes both kids had picked out the perfect bikes for them. I can't remember the name of the gentleman who helped us but he was so incredibly kind and patient with all of us (Robin??) as we picked out the right color bike, basket, bells, etc. the kids could not sleep until the bikes came home that they made me go the next day after work and make two trips to bring the bikes home. My girlfriend and I were riding our bikes home from the beach when my chain fell off. This had happened previously but I didn't think anything of it. This time I was unable to put it back on so I walked the bike over to the shop. Within 4 minutes my bike was good to go! I'm a 60+ year old woman who rides an e-bike for fun, fresh air and exercise. I needed some guidance in making adjustments to my new bike (which I didn't buy here). For the first time in ages I was treated with dignity and respect - no condescending attitude or eye rolls. I went in and talked with Will (the owner) about what I thought I wanted to do to make the bike fit me better (replace the handlebars). We chatted and he looked up some information and asked me to bring in the bike. A few days later I did. I was greeted by Ian, who helped me retrieve the bike, and then I met Tomas, in the maintenance area. Tomas was amazing. He found an easier fix and right there made a couple of adjustments and voila! Are you tired of bike shops with elitist and rude service? I know I was. I admit, I know nothing about bikes but most bike shops I've been to kind of just scoff when you ask noobish questions. I wanted the components on my old bike, to be put on my new frame. I went to another bike shop near by and the let me know there was a 2-3 week wait and it is to be $240. Yikes! Feeling lost I called Two Wheels One Planet and the person on the phone asked me to describe the parts on my bike. Again, I don't know anything about bikes so when he told me to look at the "stem" I told him I didn't know what that was and he guided me to it. I told him what I needed done, he told me that was probably going to be $70 but he is back logged and I would probably get it back in 4 days. 4 days vs 14 days. I brought the bike in and he said it was simple and that he would actually get it back to me later that day! I asked if there is a "jump in front of the line fee" and he said no. 59 years ago, my dad and I went to Sea Schwinn Bicycle Shop on 17th in Costa Mesa to see the new Schwinn Stingray bike. This was the first gen, no frills, original, and it was time for me to retire the old Huffy. That Christmas there was a Stingray under the tree and it was my ride for years to come. 17th street was my jam and all the spots from the Speedy Mart to the Hobby Shop to Gilberts to Burnett's Toy Shop were on the Saturday cruise list. Time and circumstance lost the bike to memory, but 40 years later Schwinn released a re-issue and a copper Stingray, identical to one I had as an 11 year old, was once again in the garage. After a decade, it was relegated to an outdoor storage and there it succumbed to the ravages of weather, moisture and the elements. In 2022 it was badly rusted, tires shot, chain beyond saving and I figured this was a crime, and justice needed to be served. Enter Will at Two Wheels, One Planet, the successor of the original Sea Schwinn, still on 17th, just down the street from its original location. Will immediately saw the connection between the bike and me and made it his duty to breathe life back into an old friend. Let me say, he and his team so far exceeded my expectations, that my excitement is hard to put into words. It gives strong meaning to the term "going above and beyond", finding original style tires on eBay, sourcing the correct handlebars, and returning my Stingray back to new! Knowing that I would be riding this bike with my grandkids in hot pursuit, Will even added a very special touch, completely on his own volition, a rear license plate reading, "The Best Grandpa Ever". Service like this is what existed in the 50s and 60s. Finding it today is more than refreshing, it's the kind of thing that gives you faith in people ... again. I can't recommend this shop, and its staff, more highly. It's old school, it's service with a smile, it's the kind of retail purchasing experience that is so rare these days. My sons Super 73 e-bike wasn't turning on so I tried scheduling a service appointment at Super 73 but they were booked out for over a month. They suggested I call Two Wheels One Planet to schedule warranty work. When I called to schedule I spoke to the nicest guy and he told me they were pretty busy but to drop off the bike and they would figure it out. From the very moment of calling, dropping the bike off, and communication with Calvin has been the most positive experience. EVERYONE that works there are nice, easy to work with, and you can tell they enjoy their job. The shop is busy but it's well worth it if you have to wait for help. I'm so grateful that I was referred here because their communication during this whole process has been absolutely AMAZING! I've been to a couple of bike shops in the Orange County area since I started biking during the pandemic last year. Two Wheels One Planet is one of the few bike shops to provide an excellent customer experience consistently. Every member of the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. For instance, a team member always greets me with a warm hello, a smiling face, and a readiness to answer any of my questions upon entering the store. Jonathan helped me identify the right bike for my cycling needs and fitted me for a bike in November 2020. Although I got my bike from a different store--Two Wheels One Planet wouldn't have received the model I wanted until July or August 2021--I felt very fortunate to have had Jonathan's guidance and insights when figuring out the right bike for me. And whenever I needed to buy a bike accessory over the next few months, I returned to Two Wheel One Planet because I knew that I was in good hands as a relative newbie to the sport. I also want to shout out Calvin, a bike mechanic at Two Wheels One Planet, who identified the reason why my bike had been squeaking for the past month. Calvin diagnosed the problem quickly, fixed it within 15 to 20 minutes, answered all my questions as he worked on the bike, and offered helpful suggestions on how to correct the problem should it arise again in the future. So, much to my pleasant surprise, I left Two Wheels One Planet 40 minutes after I had arrived with my bike's squeaky problem fixed and with the handlebar tape on my left handlebar nice and tight (it had unraveled in the past few days). The best bike shop in Orange County for sure. They only sell good, quality products and competetive prices. You also have a big store, with a lot of variety. If you are just looking for something simple, in the middle or on the high end, you will find a bike here. They are also very knowledgable about the bikes and accessories. They have a full service dept and can fix or upgraded anything you need. I have been getting my bikes fixed here and have purchased bikes here for over 8 years. The guy that owns the shop is Will. He is a very good dude and will help you find what you need, at a great price. They let you rent bikes, too! I highly suggest you stop in. In fact, I just bought 2 new bikes for my household today. They are doing what they can during Covid-19, but doing it in a very respsonsible way. Not allowed in the shop, but the owner Will, and one other person are taking care of people's bike needs one at a time. They are also still servicing bikes if you need a repair. I ended up bringing an additional bike in for a full tune up and again he was honest that I didn't need that full service saving me $100. He fixed up my seat and brakes free of charge and gave me a ton of great tips before sending me on my way. Brought another bike in for a flat tire a week later and Thomas was very helpful in fixing the tire and making a few additional tweaks free of charge again.
