I had been told that Ted Harty with Immersion Freediving was the go to guy if I was ever interested…read morein learning how to dive, but not being a diver (and I mean never diving) or a "professional" snorkeler (seriously only twice in my life) I never thought I would ever need a freediving instructor. Needless to say, when I was presented with the "opportunity" (please notice the punctuation) to take a private class it only made sense to take it from Ted, and now I truly understand how exceptional Ted truly is at teaching. Not only was the coursework extremely educational but Ted made it entertaining with personal stories, personal experiences and hands on training. Never would I have thought that the coursework would leave me wanting more and more knowledge about diving, how the body works and my number one priority how to dive safe and how to be a safe diving partner. Like I said above, I was not a diver at the beginning of this class, but Ted has so much patience (talking me through a panic attack just to even get my face in the water), he explained what he wanted me to do step by step and then would demonstrate it, by far the easiest way to learn. Ted never pushes you, it's on your schedule, your comfort level and when you're ready Ted is always right there with you. Ted gave me such confidence in myself and abilities that there are lessons I learned during this Immersion Freediving course that I will apply to my "above water life". I may not be the deepest diver, have the best, or any technique and still have a lot of learning to do, but Ted turned me into a freediver and now I am hooked. I can't wait to continue my diving education, increasing my depths, improving my technique and I guarantee I will be doing this only with Immersion Freediving and Mr. Ted Harty, no one else compares and I now understand why he is the best and will be my only recommendation to anyone wanting to learn to dive. Thank you Ted for truly being excited for what I accomplished over the course of five days, you made me feel awesome about myself and for opening up a whole new world to me. Your enthusiasm and passion for what you do is contagious and I look forward to working with you again. So stay tuned you have created a monster and I can honestly say if it wasn't for you I never would have had the "true dive" experience. Cheers to you and I will see you in the water chasing the most awesome feeling in the world.

Previous to taking this course, I was diving 35-40ft depths comfortably and could do a 2 minute static breathhold. Since taking this course with Ted, I was able to complete an 85ft dive and 4'25'' static breathhold in the pool. Simply amazing! I never realized how important equalization was at these depths and Ted has a skype session with every student before the class starts. The class size is limited to only 5 students, which is a big reason I took this course over other courses offered. Ted is a terrific instructor and was always focused on everyones individual needs, providing that "one on one" attention. The classroom sessions focused on safety, techniques and physiology. Safety was also a part of every ocean session and I learned a great deal. I was not a safe diver prior to taking this course, but now have the knowledge to easily adjust my diving style. We had a lot of dive time in the ocean and even more fun! Ted's dive boat "Sink Faze" was very nice and comfortable and much better than dealing with a big charter dive boat. I am very happy I decided to take this course with Immersion Freediving and can't wait to get back out in the water for further ocean training with Ted. Jason Rice Longboat Key, FL

I planned my day around this excursion and made it a pool day at my hotel. I left my hotel at 1 pm, got there in about 15 minutes and then drove an hour looking for parking. The sheriff blocked off the parking lot because it was full. Side roads were full. At this point even if I found parking I'm walking over the lagoon bridge. I called the company and Stevie said other guests and the tour guide, Parker, were also experiencing the same issue. Stevie tried her best to help by suggesting someone picking up etc. Still no time because of he excursion was starting in 15 minutes. I requested a refund because I was done at this point. Owner called me back and assured me that I would get a refund. So unless you plan on getting there in the morning to get parking, move on from any excursions at 900 Heron. This review was fair and honest, not slamming the company. However Kaleigh thought it would be cute to email me a nasty email this morning accusing me of being a bully. Photos of the conversations attached. At this point the unprofessional-ism of this company should be considered. Kaleigh, if you were only this respectful and professional as the face you are trying to show publicly privately. You can put whatever spin on this you want, you are the real bully and you can try to make yourself look good and make me look bad. You made this to be what it didn't have to be. As I have said, I am done with you, your poor attempts at damage control, and your company.

It is also great for people who might not enjoy boats since it is from the shore. Even though it is from the shore you won't miss out on any of the sights. The best part of the trip was how we had the boat exclusively to ourselves! I didn't know it'd be a private tour until the day I came. So, the boat was just a total of 3 people (captain included). The water temperature was great and the clarity was decent. We even saw two dolphins! You meetup at Whiskey Joe's at the marina and you can start your excursion immediately. I liked that you didn't need to wait around much. I was able to see some cool looking fish, a bottom feeder and a crab. You get 2 hours for the snorkeling and you're not required to wear any life vests (in fact, we weren't offered any and I didn't see any). The water is super shallow so it didn't seem dangerous at all. The water is also salty and easy to float in. The boat was nearby the main snorkeling area. The bad: The area for snorkeling was pretty small. It was an artificial reef where the fish were but outside of that area there is just seagrass and there's no living things to observe. The website says snorkeling starts at $75/pp and up but that's misleading b/c that's only the price if you have 8+ people. When I came to the marina, the worker who had me sign paperwork said that "$25/hour tip is required" when I got an email saying 15% tip is optional. My husband clarified and he said "yes, it's required" but later retracted his statement after I clarified that it was strange to give tip upfront before we even went on the excursion. However, I did already give 15% tip upfront on 50% of the value and then Zelled an additional $25 tip to the captain himself afterward. The cost for snorkeling ended up being $407 for 2 people (pricey). The interesting: The captain swam with us to lead us to the reef and then swam back and was mostly on his phone.
