This place was dead when I went there. They did not tell me the pricing until after the service and it was way too expensive I had a spa pedicure which wasn't even listed on their brochure and I had a buff manicure and I gave a tip and it was almost $100. Had I gone anywhere else it wouldn't have been so much the pedicure alone was almost 80 for nothing really special and I got a buff manicure and all my fingernails are not the same length even though I told the lady I wanted them all the same length. read more

Been going there for many years, and this time brought my mom. Maybe their ownership has changed or they are less picky about who works there, but they treated my mom with condescension and rudeness. Before my mom had her pedicure done, she told the woman one of her fingers was compromised and to not cut back the cuticle. The worker threw a fit and was not only nasty but quite rude. Who is the customer here? We "spoke" with the owner, who either could not speak English or faked he didn't hear us. What a crappy place this has become. After many years I'm off to a new place. So My husband and I went to Spa World for our anniversary last week. We had the couples massage and a few other papering services. This is the kind of service all the other spas in the area need to live up to! The massage was awesome, but my gel pedicure was absolutely out of this world!!! Talk about soothing :) They start by filling a tub with hot water, then add something to solidify the water along with aromatics and oils. What you end up dipping your feet into is this warm, gooey, blue mud-like stuff that just makes you want to melt from the feet up. The pedicure is about an hour long, with a massage finale of hot stones on the legs and an amazing pumice scrub that makes you feel like you have silk for feet.... All this while you get to sit and enjoy lemon tea and cold watermelon. mmmmmm..... I'm definitely going back! read more

Spa World is decent. When I'm in the area, I don't mind getting a spa pedicure from this place but that's usually where I draw the line. A full set of nails here is ridiculously overpriced for Orange,CT. They have very nice pedicure chairs and it's a nice and soothing atmosphere. I've never heard "music" per se, but I've heard the soundscapes playing...rain forest, I think. They offer fresh fruit and tea while your are getting your services and a shoulder massage while you are drying. Once while I was drying my toes, the girl was massaging my shoulders and as she was done the owner came up to me and said "You tip her too. She does that good." CLASSY! You will run into a language barrier here, but if you can get past all of that, and the blunt tip preying technicians, it's a relaxing pedi. read more

We got the $15 pedicure special and it was terrific. The staff were very nice and efficient while being gentle. The interior has a very unique vibe and it wasn't too crowded. If I could rate this place lower than 1 star I would. I went there a few days ago with my friend to get Brazilian waxes. We both had Brazilian waxes before so we knew what was to be expected, exept for the service we got from Spa World. This rating is specifically for Brazilian waxes. Please don't go here if you are seeking a wax. There were several red flags and we ignored all of them. 1. They don't use HARD wax they use wax for your FACE AND PAPER STRIPS 2. She was double dipping the wooden sticks 3. She was re-waxing the spots that were already waxed and very tender 4. No alcohol or antiseptic was rubbed on me BEFORE the wax 5. I was bleeding and bruised Please please please don't go to spa world for a Brazilian wax. Go to tommy K's, save your money and your girl parts. read more

Yikes!! This use to be a great place but it has gone down hill. The tools they use are dirty and not cleaned properly. The staff is unprofessional and rush you. Also, the owner of the shop is rude. The last time I went there was today. My nails were not cut and poorly filed. My nails were left uneven and chipped. The woman that did my nails left before my nails were finished, leaving me without a top coat. As my nails were drying, a woman was paying for her manicure with a gift card. The owner was very rude to her and told her she had to pay the tax separately. As the woman was trying to explain politely to the owner how she felt her manicure was rushed, the owner ignored her and walked away from her as she was speaking!! The owner also brought up a past visit of hers, saying she didn't " tip well". That's no way to treat a paying customer. After she quietly left, the owner apologized to us for her behavior. The woman's behavior was not bad, it was the owners behavior that made me uncomfortable. How are you suppose to have a good business if you won't listen to your customers? This place use to be good, but has gone down hill. If you want a good experience, don't go here!! Save your time and money. read more

I LOVE Spa World. They always seem to put in that little extra effort that really makes a difference. I go for their spa pedicures (multiple choice, all amazing) and regular manicures. They don't skimp on the massage! They even give you a heated massage while you're drying! I will continue loyally returning to Spa World, they are truly the best. read more

I came in on a Saturday with a friend. It was spur of the moment, so we didn't have an appointment for our pedis. We were greeted right away and taken back to the pedicure area to soak our winter weary feet. The employees were pleasant and professional. I chose the $35 pedicure and think, overall, that I got what I paid for: soaking, trimming and cuticle care, a leg scrub, callous removal, leg massage, and polish. I would have given five stars, but I felt slightly cheated. My friend whose pedicure (same choice as mine, the $35) started at least five minutes before mine and ended about ten minutes after mine. I missed out on some exfoliation and massaging (the best part). I will be back, but I'll try to get my friend's technician :-) read more

I couldn't believe how terrible my experience was at this place the day before my wedding. I had called a week prior to make an appointment for my mother and myself. I clearly indicated that the appointment was for two pedicures, one gel tip refill, and one new set of gel tips. I even called the day before to confirm the appointment. When I walked in the door, I gave them my name. They didn't check anything in the book, but brought us back for our pedicures. We chose the ones we wanted off of a menu, but they immediately started doing a more expensive option. We decided it wasn't a big deal, and the pedicure itself was actually very nice. When my mother went to get her new set of tips, she told the manicurist again what she wanted. The manicurist did not speak enough English to understand and did not get anyone to assist her. She was just "yes-ing" my mom and proceeded to do a regular gel manicure. After trying several times to get someone to help her or explain what she wanted, my mom was resigned to just accepting what she got. Meanwhile, after the pedicure I waited over an hour and a half in my chair for someone to even start doing my nails. During this time, nobody checked in on me at all and when I tried to get someone's attention was ignored or brushed off. I was actually very patient, but had another appointment to get to for the wedding the next day. When the manicurist finally made it over to me, not only was she not apologetic, but she was downright rude. She said she knew I had been waiting a while but told me I must not have made an appointment. When I said I did, she said that I must not have made it for the right thing and if I didn't specify that I wanted a refill for gel tips, then I would not be able to get any service next time. When I said that I had said that when I made the appointment, she just shrugged. I was also not satisfied with the quality of the manicure at the end of the appointment- the lines were uneven and the gel was not smooth. Though I have been to this place before, this experience was enough to convince me to never come back. It was added stress that I didn't need the day before the wedding, and I don't think that customers should be treated like that or talked to in that manner at any time. My gel manicure came out terrible!! Looks like a child did it. I asked for sparkle on my ring finger and you can't even tell there's sparkles. Looks rushed and unfinished. Pissed I wasted $30 and a $5 tip on these. Asked very uncomfortable questions and came off as condescending. Terrible service and terrible job at my nails! Staff are excellent, they treat customers well and do a fantastic job. Yet the owner is very hostile with his employees and customers. He reprimands his employees in front of everyone, and pushes them to get through their work done quickly. I was gifted with a gift certificate for a swedish massage, facial, pedi, and mani and the owner demanded I pay the taxes of the g.c. after the person who made the purchase had paid for it. The receipt was with the certificate and it clearly showed that taxes were paid. When I showed him this he proceeded to throw it in the trash. Then the owner yelled at me and said I don't give a good tip. He then tried to tell me I couldn't leave until I paid for the taxes. Two other young ladies drying their nails stood up for me and agreed that he had done this before to other customers. They said they would no longer be returning as well. It is a real shame that you go in there wanting to leave feeling relaxed and pampered but instead you leave beyond stressed. My wedding party and I went to spa world the day before my wedding on Oct 7 2011, Spa World increased and doubled there prices on a couple of services we asked for. My daughter wanted a fill that typicallly is $15 which is listed in their brochure and they charged her $30. I wanted a complete tip set (french manicure) and they charged me $60, which was way overpriced. One of the bridesmaid received the manicure and pedicure special for $30 because she asked but the other bridesmaid didn't know of the special and they were charged $30 for the pedicure and $20 for the manicure. I will never go back to this salon as it is way overpriced and it is very hard to communicate with the staff. read more
