Not a good place for a mani pedi. I book it here and paid almost $80 with tip thinking I would get a nice spa experience. Andrea didn't use anything in the water, she didn't do a scrub or a massage. She left dirt under my nails(I hike with sandles and trail run) and actually painted over it!! . She didn't file my nails well leaving pieces from when she cut my nails and the cut was crooked. The room was loud and no music. Staff walking through to get to a massage room. No scrub, no massage, no nothing. Huge disappointment. I guess I will go back to a plaza nail place where it's a lot cheaper and they actually do all the pedicure and manicure steps and I pay half as much. read more

Best facial I've had yet! I got the aromatherapy facial which was on special this month along with a purifying back treatment and both were sooo relaxing and rejuvenating! Amazing essential oils used, steam, and everything needed to make my skin feel and look amazing! Good tips given as well to be able to tend to my skincare at home. I thought the massage I received was pretty good, but I had an issue with the time spent in the massage room, which I addressed afterwards. Props to the owner who made it right by sending me a handwritten card apologizing for the mistake and including a partial refund. To me, it wasn't about the money but the fact that I am valued as a customer, and I'm really happy the owner made me feel this way. Bought a Groupon for a wax at another facility only to read terrible reviews so I looked around for somewhere else that could accommodate me last minute with great reviews. The receptionist Sharon squeezed me in for an appointment with Andrea a day after I called and for me it was so worth the near 40 minute drive. Gorgeous environment. Very clean and I love the decor. The staff is super welcoming, even to me since I brought my two nephews and knew that could be a bit of an inconvenience but they were still very nice about it and understanding! I went here for a waxing appointment (Brazilian) ​and was so pleased with the experience. Sharon was my esthetician, and I realized she would move from one area of higher sensitivity to an area of lower sensitivity which was really helpful to lessen the discomfort. She used a combination of hard and soft wax, and it was really great quality. I liked my experience, so I did some more upgrades (underarm, leg) which were quick, simple and painless. The only thing that would make this place my go-to wrap around for all things pampering would be powder-dip nails! Would definitely​ recommend. read more

Worst massage I've ever experienced! First of all the spa is not welcoming or inviting by any means. The bathroom is dirty (full garbage can and we were the first massage of the day at 9:45 am, and a hairbrush full of hair by the sink) everyone seems tired, not so friendly and smells of cigarette. The pre massage area is a joke,tiny uncomfortable chairs with staff walking by talking. The couples massage room was even worse. You have to walk through the pedicure/manicure area to get to the room. Inside the room there is a closet that you are told you can use as a changing room. The closet was dirty and dusty, thankfully there was a small chair inside to leave our clothes on. My massage was the worst. I indicted medium to firm pressure and received the exact opposite. My masseuse spent an entire hour basically rubbing lotion on me. He never touched my face, my neck, my shoulders, above my calves or ever used heat pack or wash clothes like my husband received. After our massage we were brought into what seemed like a walk in closet or under the stair alcove which was supposed to be a "relaxing room" but was really just big enough for the two chairs and small table between us. We were given two glasses of water and two chocolates. There was a curtain pulled so that this was considered "private." We spent about 2 minutes in there and were behind ready to go. There was a sign outside of the room that said "dressing room." Apparently they're confused? I left crying because it was so bad and sent an email to the spa explaining my frustrations and disappointment. I also let them know that we did not receive the 10% discount as stated on their website for getting a massage on your actual birthday. The response I received back was horrendous. They did not care at all and said that they would have offered me a discounted massage to come back and try again but since I wouldn't be going back they weren't going to offer anything. Really? I responded back by asking again about the 10% off and was told that there must have been a miscommunication (how is this possible when I blatantly told the woman checking us out it was my birthday?) and that the only way they would refund me $7.50 was if I came to the spa with my license the following day. How is $7.50 10% of an $80 massage? Apparently their math skills are as bad as their massages. Needless to say I will never step foot in that "spa" again. Between the road noise, the dirtiness, the massage and the customer service I would never recommend aura to anyone. *update* The response to my review... Unprofessional, uncalled for and defensive. Also just to clarify AGAIN, the couples massage was $160 as stated on the website and what was debited from my account. If it is in fact $75 then you can gladly refund my card the $10 we are apparently owed, as we were clearly over charged. "Sharon C. - Owner The Swedish massage was $75. I was completely gracious to you on a holiday and responded to you as quickly as possible. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your massage. I hope it makes you feel better to put us down." *update* I received another message from the owner of Aura, this is now out of the blue and a full two and a half weeks AFTER the original post and her first response. "Sharon C. - Owner You were given a gift and you should be ashamed of putting up such a review." Yet another example of why I would tell everyone I know to never step foot in this place. You are not allowed to give feedback apparently. Aura continues to disappoint.... shocking! read more

Overall location, staff and business 5 stars. Making an appointment easy, availability great. Was able to get an appointment in less than 24 hours. I did a couples massage and everything was perfect. As far as the massage it was great for the price. I'm more of a firm, deep tissue kind of client and it wasn't firm. I'll def try it again and emphasize on the deep tissue and firmness next time to see if anything changes. But overall 4 out of 5. When I go again I'll rate it higher if the deep tissue is up to par. But keep it up team. read more

Went here because I had a Living Social deal for a hot stone massage. After I got back from the massage I had 4 burns on my back where the stones were placed. I asked for a full refund after days of going back and forth with the co-owner and no consensus has yet been made. Please be VERY careful if you go for a hot stone massage. Also as for the "massage" it's been 2 days since and I am as sore as I could be. All in all, the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a spa. ***Few hours later and I was refunded by my credit card company who took pity on me. Review still stands. read more

Excellent Excellent Excellent... This is the place you want to go when you need Spa Treatments. I have had facials, ear coning and other services. The location is right on Rte 1.. Big White house.. look for the sign..you might miss it if you don't. There is plenty of parking in the back. As soon as you get to the door you can feel the calming atmosphere. You are always greeted with a warm smile and personality. The Spa is always clean and inviting.. During the holidays you can count on warm cider.. or other special treats. Oh, by the way.. this is a small owner-operated business..so if you book an appointment, please be courteous and call in advance to cancel. The technicians will be soo thankful. Ok, now for the meat and potatoes.. Pricing is appropriate but do sign up for emails or check the website because there are specials regularly..who doesn't like to save money?? read more

Terrible customer service and not transparent at all. Purchased a GC for 2 lash lifts. First one done and it did not do anything, asked to schedule Eyelash Extensions instead and told can't use balance of GC towards anything else - must use for lash lift. So....get another 75$ service that was terrible or pay them actually more $ plus existing GC and their answer is no - who does that! read more

Was in a bind because I needed a wax last minute and they were so accommodating at getting me in the schedule. Had my first leg wax done a while back at another spa and it was a nightmare, wax everywhere and patches a plenty. Andrea at Aura Day Spa was so thorough and did her best to get all the hair (my own fault for not letting the hair grow out long enough). This was my first Brazilian experience so I was nervous but she was friendly and I didn't feel uncomfortable or awkward at all. Let's be real- it was painful but that's a sensitive area and after the initial ouch it's not too bad. Already scheduled my follow up in five weeks for maintenance. My sister and I booked a spa day for us and our daughters. They took our appointment but nothing was coordinated properly. We were in the salon for 5 hours. Since there was four of us, she called in her unlicensed friend to help with the pedicures. This woman was blowing on my feet and my pedicure took forever. Everyone was waiting for my pedi to finish. My sister complained and they said they were going to send us gift certificates. Four years later, we are still waiting for those certificates. read more

I live out of state and when I'm visiting the area I like to receive spa services. I found Aura Day Spa on Yelp and read the previous reviews. I still booked an appointment for a massage and facial. During the massage with Kim, who was great and the massage was perfect;, there was some outside noise, and you're going to have that unless your in a secluded location which is completely impossible. A white noise machine would certainly help some and noise wasn't so terrible to cause me not to relax. I would definitely go back again! My facial with Sharon was relaxing and my skin feels amazing. She certainly knows her way around a face. :) Perfect amount of pressure from both technicians during services. The whole spa was quaint and comfortable. Tables where services were performed were properly cushioned and comfortable. Prior to both services I had to change into a robe and put my belongings into lockers which was a thoughtful touch. Nice little changing room, but the door was a curtain and I felt a vulnerability to possible exposure with people walking by. All in all a pleasant, wonderful experience and would definitely rebook next time I'm in town. read more

Wife booked a couples massage slated for a Saturday that unfortunately we could not attend do to unforeseen family circumstances. Called early AM that day to cancel. Given the situation I'm surprised we even thought of it. A couple hundred dollar charge magically appeared on our account later that same day. Called to explain the situation to Sharon the manager who is quite possibly the worst human being I've dealt with on any sort of professional level, if you even want to call it that. Had absolutely zero regard for the fact that things do arise, that become larger than a massage. Was told that she had a "business to run" and that she "hears all kinds of excuses from patrons" all day long. My wife offered to reschedule only to be told "why would we want to reschedule someone who can't even honor an appointment?" Verbatim. There was even a weak attempt from Sharon to collect our spa gift certificates as an offset to our refund. Needless to say both conversations over the phone with her resulted in her hanging up on us before the conversation ended. Even after explaining in as much detail as possible without divulging the entire privacy of our matter, she still came across as an immature, pompous, inconsiderate waste of a human being that I've ever had to deal with. And for what? A fuckin couples massage cancelation. An appointment that my wife and I would have loved to have been able to make. Considering the very chair from which I am writing this review from, there's no other place we would have rather been that Saturday. The end result was us having to file a dispute with our bank for services not rendered. After two chances for Sharon to do the right thing she still failed to understand . It's sad to think how someone could be so short sited in not only a business sense, but also a personal sense. For anyone who deals with Sharon from this establishment moving forward good luck. Hopefully she's better with her hands than she was with her brains, and her big mouth. read more

My four stars are for my waxing experiences with Sharon. The spa itself is quaint but it has all the necessities: a quiet room to relax, nice looking pedicure chairs (that I will try in the future), music for meditation, and a very friendly staff. Prices are reasonable, at least for waxing (I haven't noticed the others), and Sharon makes me feel so at ease, considering what I'm there to get done. I'm a modest kind of girl and wouldn't let just anyone see my nether regions, not even for medical purposes. As for the other reviews, 1) hot stones for massage purposes are, well, hot. They leave marks, but strange that it would burn hours after the massage and not during the massage itself. Must be magic stones. 2) A facial, for the record, can be relaxing, yes, but the purpose is to remove the top layer of dead skin cells, and your fresh new skin underneath is going to freak out. This is normal. If you don't buy quality cleanser and moisturizer, you run the risk of not being able to tame the beast. Not the fault of the day spa. read more

Don't get a signature facial done there. Afterwards they glob on a thick layer of lotion for no reason which left my skin feeling very greasy. She told me I should leave it on because my skin was dry and it would absorb it, but 3 hours later it still looked very greasy. I had an extreme clean facial done months prior to having the signature and it was not as bad, but you're face will get extremely dry for about a week after and peel. I went back to aura because they had to give me lotion for my skin being so dry I couldn't even put any makeup on without it looking blotchy. read more

I was shocked to read the previous reviews as my experience at Aura Day Spa has consistently been STELLAR! Sharon and her team are by far the best estheticians I've had the pleasure of knowing. The signature facial is the best around and includes many relaxing extras that other local salons and spas make you pay extra $ for.....they even offer free make-up applications after facials! The team is also the most knowledgeable I've worked with for waxing, which let's face it, you don't want to experience with people who are less than proficient.
