Don't go. I am spa junky and have been for the past 20 years. This was the worst experience I've ever had - start to finish.
I scheduled a day of relaxation and massages for myself and my husband and that is the opposite of what we got.
Just a few of the things that went wrong - our massages were supposed to be coordinated, so we could enjoy them together. Didn't happen. No explanation.
I booked my services so I could use their sauna first to relax my muscles before my massage and end with a facial. They completely changed the order of my services - no explanation. So I ended up putting my face in a cradle right after my facial and ended my "day of relaxation" sitting in a weird, wooden room (I wouldn't call it a "sauna"... more on that later) just waiting for it all to end.
Both my massage and my husband's massage started late because the staff was trying to figure out if they could adjust the messed up appointments - they couldn't - so we both got ripped off of time we'd paid for on the table.
I specifically requested a female masseuse for my husband. They booked him with a man.
The room where I received my massage services was SO bright (with no option for dimming) that the masseuse put some weird thing on my eyes to block out the light, which of course fell off when I had to change positions. It was impossible to relax.
Though I'd scheduled three back-to-back services for continuous relaxation, between each service they kept returning me to a bright, freezing cold waiting room (while I was still in my robe), while they tried to figure out what to do next. Perfect recipe to kill the "zen".
And finally, the day ended with a trip to the "sauna," which if you've ever been to an actual sauna is NOT what you'd expect. The room didn't get hot AT ALL and I didn't sweat one bit. After my "treatment" ended, by husband told me that he'd discovered (on his own) a way to adjust some of the settings in the room, so his experience had been a bit better. Of course a day of "relaxation" should not require the client to "discover" hidden features as if they are in an Escape Room.
The staff working that day were all pretty pleasant, but none had the ability to fix or improve anything. I was informed that the manager would speak to me at the end and likely comp the services. When I went to check out, I was informed the manager was in fact not even working, but that she would call me.
Susan, the manager, did call the next day. I told her about all the things that went wrong and how the experience was basically ruined. She said, "I'm sorry; we clearly dropped the ball; I'm not sure how that happened. We can give you a free $25 enhancement for one of your services. Seriously?! What a joke.
I have been a member of Massage Envy for 12 years. I tried Massage Green Spa because they have a "sauna" and a similar membership model. If you are looking for a spa membership, please do yourself a favor and go to Massage Envy instead. From what I experienced, the "sauna" at the Green Spa is a joke and while everything doesn't always work out perfectly at Massage Envy, when they make mistakes, they always make it right and ensure that the customer leaves feeling valued and not ripped off. read more
