Absolutely disgusting and unsanitary spa. Went here for a facial, the next day I had a major eye infection because they do not sterilize their equipment. Their spa manager Ava, is extremely rude and did nothing to fix the issue. I had to demand a refund and membership termination, they were not apologetic whatsoever. My massage was amazing. However my checkout experience was less than stellar, which ruined my entire time at the spa. Relaxation out the window. The young girl at the front desk ruined my experience. Checking in I had a bubbly nice woman who made me feel at ease. My masseuse was amazing. Check out I had the worst experience and it brought my entire mood down from being relaxed to being uneasy and uncomfortable. The young girl was very direct, gruff and didn't even make eye contact with me. She asked "how was your experience" no smile and eyes kept on the computer. Then "how do you want to handle gratuity? Again no eye contact, no smile- almost as though I was inconveniencing her by being in front of her. Her body language was horrible. When I said I had a gift card she rolled her eyes and huffed, again looking at the computer. Not the way you want to feel after being relaxed after a great massage. She completely ruined my 60 mins of bliss and my calmness. I was uncomfortable and actually upset that I was treated this way. After checking I paid my 10$ balance and added gratuity. I got "have a nice day" again no smile no eye contact. I didn't even get a receipt or asked if I wanted one. It truly ruined my experience. I'm not sure I will come back to Spavia due to this. That's how rude I was treated and made to feel uncomfortable. read more

Honestly, the best massages I've ever had were from here. The environment is extremely relaxing and welcoming and the staff has always been exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I am a member here and count the days until I get to go back. The 1-star reviews are written by clearly braindead people. 2 of the reviews were written by entitled whiners who were upset they couldn't return an item without a receipt that was a re-gift and they didn't even purchase to begin with. Another one from someone who wanted to do a walk-in an hour before their appointment when the therapists were booked, and then was upset that they'd be charged if they didn't stick with the original time. That's how appointments work, dude. Someone scheduled time to come into work for your dumbass and they shouldn't lose out on their pay because you suck at time management and didn't give enough notice for them to fill your spot. All of these negative reviews were situations that were out of the spa's control (construction), them looking out for their clients and therapists (avoiding covid exposure), or customer inconsideration or stupidity. As a former Elements and Massage Envy member, I can confidently say this place is cleaner, more professional, and better staffed than anywhere else I've gone for a massage. read more

My wife went in to try to exchange an item without a receipt and after giving every excuse why they would not take it, called her a liar and they threw a phone at her... she walked out without item, and we will never patronize them again (after 6 years and thousands of dollars spent). I loved all the amenities they provided. I booked a wax with Nicole, she was so sweet and the wax was PAINLESS. I will be coming back to get waxed by her again and to try out facials/massages. Just paid for a hour massage, Natasha was excellent but there was construction going on during my hole hour massage. Banging and loud noise throughout my what was suppose to be relaxing peaceful maternity massage. I am so upset that the spa wouldn't warn the customer atleast giving a heads up that my massage would not be peaceful. Give me the option to decide if I want to still get a Massage through out the construction noise next door. I told the girls upfront while paying & all they could say was sorry as if they didn't know it was happening but my the girl doing my massage was aware & told me construction is going on when i asked why this is happening. The right thing to do would be accommodate the customer some how but nope I got a sorry & here is your full price bill! Cute storefront boutique, and so thrilled with the cleanliness of the establishment, locker rooms were so clean and made me feel very comfortable. Received a 60 minute deep tissue massage with Tom and it was by far the best massage I've ever gotten, left feeling relaxed and refreshed. Very nice staff will definitely be returning!! read more

I have been to Spavia a number of times, all of which were really great. Most recently, I had a 60 minute massage yesterday which was phenomenal. My therapist was professional and gave me probably one of the best massages I've ever had. Do NOT get lashes done here. 3 hours to get volume lashes and immediately they started falling out. you can tell the lashes were put on incorrectly by the way that the lashes were bent. I have had lashes done for years with volume and never had this many fall out so quickly and so many turned upside down. read more

Since this place is local, it is convenient. The facial, waxing and massage services are wonderful here. However, some of the staff members are less than wonderful. Upon arriving for my appointment, I was spoken over and told four times to silence my cell phone while I waited in the quiet room. My phone wasn't even out. The woman must have said it four times and had an attitude about it. I've also had my eyebrows botched by Elaine here. I've written an online complaint through their website, but was ignored. She didn't wax my eyebrows and instead told me all about her career, working with another place. Overall, nice place and good services. Some of the staff need a serious attitude check. read more

I've been a member here for about a year now and it's what I most look forward to all month long. The locker room is stocked with anything you'd need (lotion, hairspray, soap, towels, a shower). The retreat is lovely with warm neck wraps, hot tea, cold water, trail mix, books and nice cushioned seats to wait on. You choose your music and your scent beforehand so when you get into the room, it's ready for you. The table has heat options as well. The massage is wonderful. Once you're finished, you can hang out in the retreat until you're ready to go. The front store has a nice selection of skincare products and more. Highly recommend. read more

Where's the hero's welcome she deserves for showing up when the rest of the world stayed home. She should get a free massage, if not a heavily discounted one for her service to the public during a global pandemic. If anyone needs a massage right now it's the healthcare workers. She is professional enough to know her risk and she would not go out and. risk others. You take the same risk with every customer. You don''t really know their exposure. I scheduled an appt for a classic facial. I was running late and arrived at 6:58pm for my 7pm appt. I walked in wasn't greeted instead "maria? Your facial started now so fill these papers out fast." Was then brought to the locker, explained to change and then was greeted by Anna. I explained that it's been 2 months since my last facial & my main concern is congestion/blackheads. She analyzed and agreed. She applied a cleanser obnoxiously slow. Wiped it off obnoxiously slow/gentle that it didn't come off fully. I could feel the residue. She then applied a mask and let the steamer run. Again, removed it obnoxiously slow. She then was supposed to start extractions but instead moved around my face for about 10 seconds. I asked if she was going to extract and she said no bc she could not if blackheads were too deep. I'm 39 and have been getting facials since my teens and have never ever been told that! She didn't extract a single blackhead. I asked her to stop the facial all together. I got dressed went to to the front and explained what bullsh*t facial that was and didn't finish it. The woman said "well I'll give you a discount, so it's $79." LOL the first time client pricing IS $79! There was no discount she was just patronizing. I refused to pay anything so she went to call her manger and disappeared for 10 min. She then came back and said as a courtesy she would not charge me. Honestly, I would've left in handcuffs before paying anything! There was no apology by the front desk, manager or Anna. Don't waste your money going here! WASTE OF TIME & MONEY. So I moved from NYC metro to the country and I was looking for easy going considerate people. I did not get that at Spavia in Sparta. Full disclosure, I did not even make into the room to get my massage, so it may be the best ever. The customer service is not. Back story: I was 1 hour early for my appointment and I asked if they have could take me then...NO. Not wanting to wait an hour I asked if I could cancel...YES BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY. Asked if I can make another reservation...YES BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THE ORIGINAL RES. So I decided to wait and got caught on a phone call and was 12 minutes late. SORRY YOU MISSED APPT. YOU HAVE TO PAY. I realize I am partially at fault for my bad time management skills, but you would think they would provide solutions to a new customer to secure future business...they did not. But they did want my money. A waste of time and money. I do not have the patience to put up with bad customer service, so they officially lost my business. I went in with high expectations, as Spavia seemed like a high end spa. I scheduled a full body scrub followed by a spray tan as we were going to be leaving on a beach vacation. The service and facilities were excellent, however, the body scrub lasted three minutes, then after showering and drying off, I received a spray tan. I have had other spray tans, and unfortunately, this was not a good one. The "tan" looked streaky the next day, and the the tops of my feet, and ankles were extra sprayed and very orange looking. I have been a client of Spavia Day Spa, Sparta since its opened. I have spent a pretty penny on massage, facials, teachers gifts etc. I have publicly and privately recommended this local business to many. My mother gave me a scarf from their boutique that didnt have a receipt and was a regift from one of her clients. I went to return it today and was told bc I had no receipt there was nothing they could do for me unless I could provide the name of the giver. Keep in mind there were at least a dozen more of said scarf still for sale on their shelves so clearly it was their product. I asked to use their phone to call my mom to see what the person's name was who gifted it to her. At this point I was told by the Spa Manager "Are you kidding me? In this day and age who doesnt carry a phone?" I had happened to leave my phone at home by accident, but now I was being accused of lying? I said "If I had a phone on me why would I ask you to use yours and more importantly why are you so irritated to let me use yours when I'm trying to help you gather the info you claim you need?" At that point the phone was tossed at me across the counter! I was stunned. I called my mom and she reminded me that she can't share her clients names bc she is a psychologist in town, and it's against HIPPA. I hung up and told the staff. But at this point frankly I was disgusted. IF YOU WANT PEOPLE TO SHOP LOCAL TREAT THEM WITH RESPECT. HAVE SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS OR GAIN THEM THROUGH PROPER TRAINING OR IF NEED BE FIRE THOSE WHO DONT. I canceled my future service, an 80 minute massage on the spot. They could care less. I told them I'd never return to their business not because of the scarf but because of the way I was treated. They could care less. Three stars purely for the quality of work that was done- nothing else. I know a few people who work here that are very good at what they do and friendly! However this was not my experience. Upon entering, the woman at the front desk seemed to be bothered that I was talking to her. She told me I needed to make an appointment for an eyebrow wax, and after I apologized she begrudgingly told me "I guess I can squeeze you in". The person who waxed my eyebrows was RUDE. She continuously made fun of me and my eyebrows. It was awkward and unpleasant to say the least, and quite frankly I was a little upset and offended. Afterwards I was pressured to give them my credit card number, to book a follow up appointment "if I wanted to". A few weeks later my card was charged for "missing my appointment". When calling to ask about the charge, the woman was rude and said that I must've not been paying attention to what they said. All in all I felt taken advantage of due to my young age and humiliated.
