This PBX phone system, Allworx, we purchase came with a security flaw and features that made it, over time, useless. We did not realize how many calls we were missing until we plugged in a basic wireless phone set purchased at Staples.
One of the major vulnerabilities was that the system we purchased was easily hacked by parties in a foreign country who then used that vulnerability to make calls all over the globe. We had to call our provider and have them turn off the long distance to foreign countries feature. It took a phone call to management at Spaulding Hill to resolve the security flaw. We inquired if they were interested in buying back the phone system and their response was positive. When we decided it was time to move on and made an inquiry regarding a buy back we received no response to either phone calls or emails.
In the end, it's usually not the equipment you have to worry about....it's the distributor or re-seller, in this case, Spaulding Hill Networks, LLC. The minimum you should receive from a distributor of Allworx products are patches that resolve security flaws. The maintenance plan we were offered was ridiculously priced. read more
