Walleye (5 stars!)
Megan S.

This was our first time here - went for my husband's birthday. I read some reviews trying to decide what to order and honestly was a little nervous seeing what other yelpers had to say. We both ordered wine and had complimentary bread brought to our table. It was good! (who doesn't love bread?) Italian herby bread served warm with butter. We ordered the meatball appetizer which was VERY good, I could have eaten the sauce with a spoon. Husband was a big fan! For dinner, my husband got the Spasso pizza, which he said was good, but floppy. The toppings were too heavy for the thin crust so it was hard to eat a bite without the tomatoes falling off. It was large, definitely enough to split for 2. He said he would try something other than pizza next time, not that it was bad, but just that it was hard to eat. I had the walleye which was PHENOMENAL! The lemon sauce was perfect, the walleye and potatoes were crispy, absolute perfection. I'm sad I couldn't finish it (I blame the bread and meatball for taking up space). Would 100% go back just for that plate alone. Compliments to the chef, it was amazing. Our service was great - the place was pretty full for a Wednesday but we didn't have trouble getting a table. I expected it to be upscale, but it was casual, nothing on the food menu exceeded $30. Lots of kids, I think there was a child under 5 at every table (all well behaved, so no complains there). Overall, would go back to try more on the menu. Great experience and pretty great food.

We really enjoyed our first visit here. The drinks were nice and strong. For apps, the mussels were throughly enjoyed, very meaty and some of the best we've ever had. Risotto fritters were delicious including the gorgonzola sauce. We didnt love the polenta fries though. They were very plain and we didnt like any of the sauces. For the entrees, the portions were huge for the price. Chicken Alfredo was good. Sauce was a little loose but still good. Chicken parmesan was really good. The Alfredo sauce on this one was really good and there was 2 pieces of chicken. The walleye again was excellent. Huge portion, cooked perfect and good flavor. The complimentary asiago bread was good as well. All the staff were so welcoming. Our server, Maksymillan, was excellent. Michael, the manager, treated us to a tiramisu for dessert which we really appreciated and it was excellent as well. The atmosphere inside was casual and enjoyable. There is plenty of parking in the lot.

The food was disappointing. The brussel sprouts were overly sweet and and the lasagna was very greasy. The gluten free pizza crust was soggy and oily with little taste. My husband did enjoy the bread and the caprese salad was tasty but nothing extraordinary. The ambience was romantic which was nice for date night. Service was slow despite the restaurant being nearly empty.

Aaron was a wonderful server. I really liked my cheese ravioli but I had a bite of my husband's lasagna and I wish i ordered it instead. The space has a large free parking lot that is easily accessible. It took a while to get our entrees but the appetizers and salads came out fast. I would recommend if you're looking for great food and great service!

Calamari

Second time here. Drinks are always good. We had the calamari app. I loved the red bell peppers on it, but the calamari itself were a little tough, not sure if they set under a heat lamp. The bread is always warm and good. I had the ribeye with mash potatoes and asparagus. Very good. My fiance had the chicken mushroom risotto, it was good, not great. Overall, I like the restaurant. The staff is very pleasant.

Spaghetti & Meatball

This long-standing Minnetonka restaurant features a large parking lot, ensuring plenty of parking. Inside, the place is spacious and adorned with charming mosaic decor. There's also a delightful outdoor seating area that becomes very popular in good weather. It is good for either a family dinner or a gathering party! The menu focuses on traditional Italian cuisine. Complimentary bread is provided before the meal. We ordered the spaghetti, which was amazing, with a robust tomato sauce featuring flavorful chunks. The shrimp scampi was tasty, though a bit soupy. The kids' meals are standard but come with a favorite: ice cream! The walleye was very fresh, though the accompanying vegetables could be improved with different options. The service is excellent and efficient. Overall, this is a charming local Italian restaurant.

Chicken Alfredo to go
Sarah W.

My dad and I ordered take out last night. We've come here many times before, but it's either a hit or a miss for me. Luckily this time it was a hit! I thought I had for sure had this dish before from here and being soso with it, but this was very flavorful and the chicken was a good portion and not dry! I'll for sure get that again. It was a quick and easy pick up as well. No issues.

Bartenders consistently disappoint on quality of service and attitude. New menu is not so great. I'll take a pass until things improve.

Spasso in Minnetonka DOES NOT allow dogs on the patio. I was just there and that was what I was told, so I took my dogs home. (June 10, 2026)

Stroganoff was ok again not a lot flavor. Bernaise sauce for steak bites was bland no real authentic flavor. Friday night first time there, very busy, short staffed but our server was excellent!! I will come back to try some other entrees that sounded good. As with any restaurant they have great days and some not so good. To top off our evening someone keyed our car which I've never had in 50 years but someone felt they needed to express themselves at my expense. Wow. Spectacularly awful. If you like cold (and I mean COLD)…read morefood and pretentiousness this is the place for you. Now I will say the Tomato toast and the cherry sour drink was good. However, it started going downhill when a dish was brought out by a runner before any of the other dishes and was set on our table without silverware. She left without bringing silverware and it would be a full 5 minutes before our server was able to be flagged down to get us silverware. We noted that this dish needed to be refired and brought out with the remaining dishes. After 15 minutes more the rest if the meal came out, and you guessed it, the original "needs to be refired" dish came out 5 minutes later. My wife's pasta was cold. Not lukewarm. Cold. Think I just opened a can of chef boyardee's and poured on a plate cold. It was disgusting. Oh and the "refired spaghetti" (buttered noodles) was also cold. The chicken parm (which their version is deep fried chicken) was warm but unseasoned and the breading was oil sogged because the frying oil was clearly not hot enough. This place gets 1 star. My favorite part was when the runner was doing her makeup in a mirror behind the hostess stand in the middle of the dining room. At a price of $183 for two for pasta this place needs to rethink their workers, their menu, and how they are going to keep attracting people. Shut down for three weeks and learn how to run your restaurant! That the Strib gave these guys a glowing review is beyond me. Very emperor's new clothes.

Making a reservation was super easy and the inside ambiance is so intimate. I came for a date night, but I could totally see a really fun girls night out here. I read some reviews before ordering and the reviews for food recs were spot on! The Parker Rolls were so delicious - a pretzel roll with 3 creamy butter options. And there was plenty of butter so you don't run out of it before you finish your rolls (big win!). I got the sweet corn cavatelli and my hubs got the lamb shoulder. Both were really yummy. I love that the cavatelli has a little spice to it as it really elevated that flavor profile. Definitely will be back! Really loved the experience and will stop by for post-dinner drinks sometime :)

I was pleasantly surprised at the unique menu though, definitely more up scale and worth the try. I will start with the biggest complaint and its one I have with so many area restaurants - the wine. They have what is likely the worst selection of wine. Its nice they feature bottles you don't normally see but they are all 3.8 or lower rated - many sub $20. For a place with this much potential the wine list should match the food or it all falls flat. We were kicking ourselves for not bringing our own, its really the only way with 99% of places. I was truly surprised at how horrible the selection was. Also, how many times must a place understand that wine should be chilled. Nothing worse than a warm Pinot. If you can't afford a simple chiller you shouldn't pretend you are striving to be something you are not. Cocktails were a nice surprise though. Unique and tasty. Also they had a couple beers on tap and at least not all were IPAs which is another mistake so many places make. Some interesting apps that were good. You could make a whole meal out of sharing apps. Wish we had. I had the stake frites and it was fatty and gross. Not at all as the pictures show. Probably 60% of the meat was inedible. The fries were good. Nobody finished their meal though I didn't hear super hard complaints. Just meh. I tasted a couple of the pastas and all seemed to fall a bit flat. I was left wishing I'd gotten that lobster roll but thinking it too would have not matched the photo. We might go back. We will bring our own wine.

Very close to the lake(walking distance) There is a free parking ramp right behind the building. The decor of this place is cute! The details seem like they were well thought out! It feels upscale and cozy! I saw a video of this place and that was what originally drew me in! The seating here is also comfortable and not over crowded. Our server was ok. I saw so many raves about the "amazing service." She did refill our water glasses, which was good because I needed it with the salty steak! Obviously the most important piece is the food. We started with the popovers. The taste was fine but the texture was almost over done. The honey butter was lacking honey flavor. Cinnamon would have really elevated the butter! I got the steak frites and my sister got the spaghetti. My fries were average. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium all the way through! I was impressed. However, it was drowning in a VERY salty sauce! I had push a lot of it off. This should be served on the side, not covering the whole steak. My sister got the spaghetti, which our waitress explained was not a regular spaghetti. I feel she has probably had to do that multiple times and honestly, it should just be renamed. It's confusing for the customer. My sister did say she enjoyed the dish and that the shrimp was ere done well. For dessert I got "Aunties iced latte" which is their version of like an espresso martini. It was just ok. Would not get again. We got the carrot cake which was good!! But then they ruined it by putting fake whipped cream.... This is supposed to be a higher end restaurant and that made the dessert feel so cheap. We also got the creme brûlée. DO NOT ORDER THAT! It is an absolute waste of money! The sugar top was so thick we couldn't eat it! The dessert had the consistency of scrambled eggs, not a smooth custard. The taste seemed ok, but whoever made this does not know what they are doing! Overall, the food was not memorable and a lot of it was done poorly. There are definitely better restaurants in the area.
