My beautiful boy, Breaker, and I practicing our obedience with friends we made at class!

As a Rottweiler breeder, it is extremely important that my puppies and their people go to obedience training! The 3 classes - Puppy, Beginner Novice, and Novice Obedience are literally the BEST classes to set a good and solid foundation on a pup. My pups grow very fast, are strong, and very smart - which is a great combination when paired with logical training. If not, then they create their own job descriptions. I've taken so many of my personal dogs through Sparks and highly recommend these classes to any of my local families. The classes just make SENSE. You not only get demonstrations of each of the skills, the website has homework in writing, video support, and a chance to post your own videos when practicing to get any individual help you need. It is heartwarming to see the progress with my own dogs and my classmates' dogs during training! We are all so fortunate to have such wonderful people in our community who care so much and who provide such top notch service to our canine community!!

So I finally reached out, did the application process, scheduled Bruno's Interview and now Camp Bow Wow will be our first choice from here on out. There are a lot of requirements but in the end I'm so happy they are as detailed as they are!! If we had to go through as much as we did to get Bruno approved that means everyone else did too. LIVE FEED: YESSSS I love love love this perk of Camp Bow Wow. I can peek in at my fluffy boy at any time to see what he is up to, see who he is playing with etc. EMPLOYEES: I have been to many places that involve dog lovers but the employees at Camp Bow Wow LOVE and appreciate every little and big dog there. They have the patients, the love, the drive, to be around these hyper pups ALL DAY LONG. NEVER ALONE: One amazing thing that stands out to me about Camp Bow Wow is that there is someone with your pup that is Dog CPR Certified AT ALL TIMES when they are in the play room. YES, AT ALL TIMES. ^__^ All of our pups get a LOT of attention. WA LOCATIONS: As of right now I think Monroe is the only Location in WA State. Cant wait till more locations open up so we can plan road trips around Camp Bow Wow. Bellingham would be a great place to have one. That would be a great one for those Canadian travelers. ^__^

While reviewing…read morethe video cams tons of times through his two hour visit, I had noticed that there wasn't much supervision in the play area. My dog was separated from the main group with two other dogs in an empty kennel. All other workers were supervising other kennels and had only visited within the first twenty minutes. This felt concerning to me as this was my dog's first visit here, and the first time meeting these other dogs. I felt first time visit supervision should've been taken more seriously as these dogs are unfamiliar with each other. During that time, there were many urine spots on the floor that were not attended to and continued to be spread all over the floor. Lastly, the dog he was paired with continued to show inappropriate aggression towards my dog as I noticed through the cam. Open mouth, ears back, cornering behavior, while my dog was pushed against the wall. During those times and after, no supervision or redirection was given as they did not notice and no one was present. My dog is a very non confrontational skiddish guy and will not correct if he is uncomfortable, they were aware of his behavior prior, said he did great and that there were no issues whatsoever with him or any dogs. He also attends daycare regularly at another private daycare facility and has no alarming behavior with friends. With the unsanitary conditions and inappropriate behavior as well as a lack of supervision I would feel uncomfortable leaving my dog in their care again. The staff were nice, helpful, and welcoming; great with the scheduling process yet that's the only thing I can take away from the visit.

We reached out to Connie because we were thinking of getting a second dog and wanted to get a "tune up" for Winston before we made that decision. The process to set up the initial meeting was thorough - we filled out an initial form, we talked with someone on the phone and we were provided with material to read before we ever met Connie. We appreciated the documentation as it set reasonable expectations about the process. When Connie came to the house, the first thing she did was ask us about our goals for the training. She's a great listener and really took the time to investigate our situation and ensure she truly understood the issues that we were having. Once she had gotten our story, she explained the root cause of the issues with Winston and educated us on how to better communicate with our dog. There was a lot of useful BarkBusters material that she shared that was specifically relevant to the problems we were having. Once we got past the theory, we did a few different exercises with Winston to put the ideas into practice. We saw an immediate impact with Winston after the first session. We felt more confident once we were equipped with the knowledge and skills to handle the problematic situations. We followed up on the homework that Connie shared and the results only continued to improve in the weeks following our initial visit. When she met us for the second time, she was surprised with how well Winston had responded to training and provided some small feedback about how we can continue to improve. We are over the moon with how much improvement we've seen with Winston and are so happy we worked with Connie! With the lifetime guarantee, we know we can reach out in the future if Winston develops other issues. Working with Connie was worth every penny and we highly recommend that others reach out if they're looking to improve their dog's behavior!

We were really excited to get our first puppy but we did not realize all the headaches that were to come. A month or so in, I was at Pet Pros in Lake Stevens buying a muzzle for my puppy because he would not stop biting my wife. The clerk suggested that rather than use the muzzle begin working with a trainer. She handed me Kim's card. Kim has been a great trainer. The constant nipping has become a thing of the past. Redford knows over a dozen commands. Whether he listens or not is something we are still working on :-), but he is only 6 months old. Incredible! Additionally, my favorite thing about Lake Stevens K9 Academy LLC is that I am able to board my puppy with Kim. Redford loves his "playdates". Martha came over and did a comprehensive assessment and gave us some tools to practice and use. We went for a trial run around the block and our Sid was like a new dog immediately. It was nice because we were able to get the training done in one session, approximately 4-5 hours. She was respectful of our home and safety and wore her mask inside. The next time a friend's dog came over I was able to confidently address the behaviors I didn't like (relentlessly chasing and jawing at his neck) and within a few minutes she was racing around the yard chasing AND being chased, pausing for a rest break/water break/a head scratch, and attentive to me.
