The staff is always prompt and friendly, but I do get tired of all the upselling. I have mostly had good car washes here. Usually even if there are lines you can get in and out in a timely manner. If something isn't quite right all you have to do is ask politely and they will fix it. The facility is always clean and well maintained. But sadly the cheapest car wash is now $29. Had the pleasure of stopping by for an oil change in July of 2025 and I was so happy that did! Top tier service provided here and I greatly appreciated that. My BMW needed its routine mobile 1 synthetic oil change and I love that sparking image will give you a free car wash with any oil service purchase. When I came by on a Sunday, there was no line for the oil change station so I lucked out. The manager helped me and he was incredibly kind and helpful! I bought a headlight restoration a couple years back and I told the guy running it (the bigger white guy) that it looks like they didn't do it. He went back to ask the guys if they did it and they said yeah. There was literally no difference between the before and after and my headlights were noticeably bad. The white guy said that you can't clean the water condensation that was on the headlight lens. He didn't give me my money back and I do not want to do business there again. Sparkling Image is a chain of car washes. We have a few of them in Bakersfield. I have been here once or twice before for a standard car wash, but never for a detail. This week I finally tried a detailing service and my stepdaughter also got a detail. We both chose bumper to bumper and she added on a headlight refresh because hers were SUPER yellow and dim. She arrived about 5 minutes before me and told them she would be staying. I arrived and told them I would be running to in n out for some food but other than that sticking around. They took my phone number down on the printout of my services requested. For the dollar amount paid, I wasn't expecting the world's best detail job but I am pregnant and going to have the baby any day now, so I just needed some of the majorly exhausting things done for me like vacuuming and shampooing carpets. I was also noticing my paint really could benefit from a wax and I don't personally know how to do much exterior detailing, nor do I want to at this stage in pregnancy. My estimate for my car was 2 hours. It took 3, and to be honest if I hadn't walked up and asked for my car back I have no idea when they were going to call me or call out for me. I watched so many cars that came after mine get detailed while mine sat most of the time it was there, so I found that a bit frustrating. I'm assuming they took their time thinking I left the premises, but I didn't. 38 weeks it's really exhausting being out of the house. That part is where they lost 1 star for me. As far as my vehicle, I'm a lot more pleased with my exterior results! The wax helped and it looks very refreshed. Interior wise, it's obvious the leather was conditioned and many things were wiped, but it was a very average job. I'm going to have to wait for the conditioner to set this week and go back and touch up quite a few areas that really just needed more attention cleanliness wise. That being said, it was cleaner and I was expecting a "not so detailed" detail to an extent. My stepdaughters car headlight polishing turned out AMAZING. The headlights had a dramatic improvement and are clear as day and brighter at night. Her exterior looks much better but her vehicle is much older, so obviously there's more damage that a wax won't fix entirely. Her interior was the same story as mine. Very well conditioned but definitely lacked some attention to detail. That being said, they told her 2-3 hours and hers was finished in about 1 hr and 45 mins. She got the same service as me plus an add on, arrived 5 mins prior, and it was done in almost half the time. Make it make sense? It doesn't. Overall, I think if you're looking for a simple spot to go for exterior care of any kind, this is a pretty decent solution at a decent price. If you need very basic or regular interior detailing and do not enjoy interior detailing or cleaning in general as a personal hobby or constantly watch auto detailing videos like me, this place will do the trick. I've seen private detailers in town who do about the same quality of work interior wise, so it's really not bad cost to what you're getting. You just have to know expectation wise it's gonna be average and not spectacular. For me the biggest con to this place was how long they took on my car and how often I saw it just sitting while other cars behind me got attention and left. They do also offer memberships, which is a great alternative to Mister in town because they towel dry your vehicle which makes a big difference. The prices aren't dramatically higher unless you're looking at full service options, and members do get discounts on detailing services and oil changes which can make a difference as well. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I was sent here by the Rosedale location after they sold me on a membership that supposedly included hand washes at the Stockdale location. When I went they had to ask the manager over the radio if they could hand wash. I was standing right next to the guy and heard the manager over the radio as clear as day, as he kind of laughed and said no they could not hand wash and that if they did it would be an extra charge. This review is for the oil change part of their services. YIKES!!! With all of the other oil change shops in town, I beg you to find another. What a joke of a business. They claimed that they changed out my air filters yet wouldn't let me keep, inspect or even photograph the old ones!! I declined the service since this was shady and they performed it anyway and insisted I pay for it. The whole process was very shady and that's exactly why I declined the services. I knew they didn't change anything because my car is brand new and told me that the filters were at 75%. I then removed one of the filters and confirmed what I thought. They're lying. I took my car to another lube place and to the dealer - BOTH of whom confirmed the filters were not changed. You guys got caught. Now instead of giving me a refund, you're getting these reviews and a complaint with the BBB. read more

But today when I pulled up and told the lady with the iPad I needed a car wash and she couldn't up sell me on the more expensive one, her attitude changed immediately and she talked to me like I'm an idiot, I closed my door and drove off. Had one of the guys outside come in and angrily tell me and another customer our cars were ready a long time ago but no one ever came in to let us know. And somehow still expect a tip. Now to the main issue, they do such a horrible job. How are you going to charge 26$ for the #2 cleaning option which is a full service and not even clean the car right. They do a shit job at vacuuming as well. All of the holder areas on the door not even vacuumed or wiped. My cup holder area was not wiped or brushed. The floors of my seat areas not even correctly vacuumed. My back seats both the floor and the seats, were barely touched by the vacuum. Still sand in the edges of the seats. Is this really how you guys represent this branch?? Yet you still try to upsell for pricier services ? Upsell what, poor quality for more money? Gave up on the big name drive thru car wash after the automated machine damaged our SUV and they denied it. So was looking for a reliable hand car wash without having to pay $50 every time. This place met that criteria so we have been using them for a while now. I live in Tehachapi but had to be in Bakes for a CPR class on a Saturday. I thought I would go early and get my car cleaned. Once I started removing the dog beds and all my other junk from it I realized it was dirtier than I had even thought. I spent about 20 minutes at the car wash, watching people that arrived after me leave before me because my car was so filthy it took extra time. After the inside windows etc were done they even took it back through the vacuum station for a touch up. Excellent job, car looks like new, $50 with tips. read more

I've been a part of their 56.99 unlimited wash club since April, most of the time my car gets "cleaned" it doesn't look like they even touch the inside.. This September my car was hit and I forgot to cancel my wash club, I called to cancel, they refused and said I should just give it away.... I decided to clean my temporary rental car anyway since I'm wasting 56.99, they made it a hassle, the girl in the inside was rude and said I had to place the sticker on my rental although it's not my permanent car, I asked if the next "renter" can try to activate my sticker, she said "They can try, but we will see your name so they can't activate it." That's contradictory, because they didn't even ask for my ID when I tried to get my sticker for the rental.... For now I'll get my moneys worth, after, I'll never be back at this location. The glare is making it hard to capture pictures of the exterior, but here are some pics of the inside. When I asked if he could remove the light coffee stains, etc, he said I'd need to do a detail if I wanted a better wash.
