If I could leave a zero I would, first of all I went in for an inspection letter for uber. they first man to talk to me was rude but whatever I'm not bothered i was about 20 minutes they finish the inspection and just have me waiting. I hear loud noise like a mallet hitting metal I ask the guy processing my payment what the other " mechanic" is doing he says i don't know and laughs. So I go out there and say what's going on this is only an inspection why is he under my car hitting stuff. Absolutely avoid at all costs! My daughter took the car here for a simple repair...it turned into a $500 repair that then had to be repaired by an actual mechanic since they pulled out other sensor wires while doing the so called repair. During a trip out of town I decided to get a oil change along the way. I found this location and I'm glad I stopped by. The service people were very friendly and fast! There are a lot of Jiffy Lube in the area and this one only had 1 person before me. The manager there was very friendly and open about the work that I wanted on my car. I definitely want to come back anytime I need an oil change in Bakersfield. The only thing I wish they did do was top off my windshield wipers fluid. But overall really good service. read more

My daughter took he car to this location on 9/6/19 for a simple oil change. They failed to reconnect the air intake hose. This negligence caused her car stall out while making a left hand turn. Thank God there was no oncoming traffic. She was able to make it to Safety and called the location. The manager stated that "he doesn't see how it could be related". It is extremely frustrating that over looking something so simple could put someone's life in danger. I've called multiple times to discuss with the manager but no one picks up the phone. Called jiffy lube to see how much an oil change is. They said 27.99 for a conventional oil change. Okay perfect. Show up. There's a banner that says 27.99. Okay cool. Lady rings me up and says it's going to be 46.54. I ask why it's more than the 27.99. She says its a "little more" because there is a 3$ waste fee and because I got the conventional oil. Isn't the conventional oil ye basic oil? I look at the flyer on the counter and for conventional oil it says 29.99 for basic oils change or 39.99 for a "signature oil change." Then she asks if I want to top off my coolant for 5.99. When I went to other jiffy lubes they topped off all your fluids for free and vaccumed out the car. So I declined. If I had known it was going to close more than valvoline and take longer, I wouldn't have come here. I feel completely ripped off. Oh, and when I got into my car, I saw my new oil change sticker, slapped next to my previous one. I guess they thought I wanted to start collecting them on my windshield. I get it's something little and so simple for me to just take off. But WHY couldn't they have been bothered to remove the old sticker and put the new one in its place. I mean, cmon. read more

Went in for a basic oil change. While in the middle changing the oil, the young man that was working on her car said before he touched the car he saw something he wanted his boss to look at that he never seen before. She overheard the conversation and never asked her what it was. She had to ask what is going on. She had a magnetic drain plug and the manager said I see those things all the time go ahead and pull it out. She said wait it has a special magnet to use to pull it out.. it wasn't supposed to be removed , and As a professional oil place should of stopped and asked or turned away service. Well they went ahead pulled it out and said he was going to put Teflon tape to secure it. Well they replaced the oil and they cracked the oil pan and made pay half of the of the new oil pan. The should of asked and not worked on it if they didn't know what they were doing. . After all said and done the car now makes a rubbing sound because he removed the sub frame to put the oil pan in. He should asked before or denied service if he didn't know what he was doing. This complaint is for the manager only. All the other employees did their job and asked the manager twice. But his big head know it all was so unprofessional. I would Get a new manager. Also he was talking about his personal life instead of being professional. read more

The website says they are open at 7:30 but they don't open till 8. The other Jiffy Lube on California was open, but there wasn't anyone to change oil till 8 (I called them). OK, I can live with that. So I waited. The guy was certainly nice enough. I told them at the beginning I only wanted an oil change, nothing more. However, they were horribly pushy with telling me how my car was going to die if I didn't have them do maintenance on it. Okay, I get that and expected it, but just not to that degree. I still would have given them 3 stars if they would have done everything properly. They pulled the cabin filter to show me how dirty it was, (OK so I'd never thought to change it, it might have been the original in my 09 Toyota). Yikes, it was bad, but I still said no to their filter and installation. While I was sitting there, I ordered one on Amazon, I'd have it Tuesday. The guy was still trying to sell me his, he appeared almost distraught that I would drive away with that filthy thing in my car.... I assured him I'd change it and told him I'd just ordered one on Amazon. He asked me how much it was, and I told him 9.99 delivered. I asked how much his was and he wouldn't tell me. Must have been more than the 29.99 that I guessed. Okay, all finished, and I left. However today when I went to change the cabin filter, what I found made me very angry. When he put the old filter back, he didn't put it in right and it was just hanging out with the cover barely hanging. So when the air conditioner or vents were on, it was blowing all the dirt off of the filter and into my car. Not cool, and if the guy is the Master Mechanic that he claimed he was I can only think that he did it on purpose because I didn't buy any of the extra service he tried to sell me. Or could it be he's not a great mechanic? I'll never go back to that Jiffy Lube or any of them in Bakersfield because he said they're all owned by the same company and must all practice the same sales methods. I stopped by last week for an oil change on my '05 Ram 1500. Since the miles are getting up there I use synthetic oil. I had the choice between that and the dreaded Pennzoil... anyone who knows anything about cars knows not to use that crap. Anyway, that staff at the Oak Street Jiffy Lube were all very friendly. They checked all the fluids and recommended various up sells which I declined but they weren't pushy about it like other shops are. I was in and out in 15 minutes for $87. I just came by at 4:30, a half hour before closing and was told that there was another car that was going to take a while and they would not take mine. There were 2 bays and 1 car and an empty bay. I have visited this location multiple times over the course of a year and a half, as I wasn't impressed with Valvoline nor the Jiffy Lube location on Auburn in the past. July 6th of this year, I purchased an oil change, complete with fluid top off && changing of filters. Within a month, my low coolant light came on & when I checked both my coolant & oil levels myself (as I considered the possibility of my sensor being an issue) I discovered that the levels were in fact low. I returned to Jiffy Lube, where the gentleman checked & refilled my fluids, he informed me that though the levels were unusually low, he was unable to find any leaks. Fair enough. The car has given me no issue other than that light notifying me. So two days ago, my low coolant light popped up once again, and once again I checked my levels to discover they were low. My oil was low 2qts && my coolant was completely empty. So I took my car to Jiffy Lube && the man that approached my vehicle was less than friendly from the beginning. I brushed off his cold attitude, as I explained what I was concerned about. He said nothing, took my keys and walked away.. I went inside, waited 15minutes for him to come back. He once again said nothing to me, handed my keys back and walked away. At that point I was a bit bothered. I said excuse me, and he turned... So I asked him, "Did you find any reason as to why this has happened twice, possibly a leak?" He literally rolled his eyes, shrugged his shoulders and walked away. To say I was infuriated would be an understatement. My father and I walked outside to my car, but instead of leaving I decided to pop my head and once again take a look.. I found not only my coolant to be topped off (thanks ) but coolant absolutely EVERYWHERE surrounding my engine. As though he tossed it, capped it and left it at that. I couldn't hold my composure. I located the man, who once again had a catty attitude, asked for his name.. (Dylan) && then I asked for his manager.. He told me the manager was Phil. I went to get an oil change estimate for my 2014 Chevy Spark and as they were examining my car they forgot to put my oil cap back on now there is engine oil all over the inside of my engine and under my car when I asked them what they were going to do about it they said they were going to offer me a free steam engine clean they said to leave them my information and they would get back to me they never did and my car is still a mess will never ever recommend this place to anyone that I know read more

This place sucks! I went in here to start doing business with them and they did not have an oil filter for my 2014 full size Chevy truck with a V-8 engine. HELLO- this is Bakersfield a farming and oilfield community. At any redlight in town there are half a dozen or more trucks like mine at any given time. They did not offer to go get one either. I thought " OK shit happens- I will still give them a try". So I go in to ask them about changing the oil in my hobby car, and the guy tells me that they do not put the type of oil I use in cars such as mine. I told him I would pay extra, by the quart whatever. He was pretty sure I did not have a clue-and the break-in oil I was requesting- 10w-40 conventional is not some exotic hard to find serum. I finally just told him"look here, I am sure you know lubricants, buy I KNOW MY CAR!" The oil I am needing is the oil specified by my engine builder until break-in is complete- then we can go to synthetics. Anyhow customer service is not important at this location. I have ditched this shop for good. They are one mile from where I live, I now go to a place one mile from where I work. GOOD RIDDANCE! All I needed was a no Bullshit oil change for my personal car. When I changed, I took two company trucks to the other place too. read more

Careless service and rude customer service. They over-screwed oil pan bolt, then oil started leaking. I had long drive, did not noticed, Engine overheated due to no oil. When I asked them , they rudely said " we told you verbally" . They wrote down even tiny things on paper, like blinds and air filter needed to change( they are pushy to have it). So they give these tiny things in written but they tell you verbally serious things like oil leaks and loosing oil-pan thread. Called corporate office and they did three way call, result was same ( I was verbally informed, which they never did and by law they have to given in written) They blew up my engine, oil pan.
