I was down the street when I noticed I was hearing noises coming from my brakes tires so I noticed the place was open so I decided to stop and get a check before I got in an accident thankfully they were busy but not too busy they where able to check my car and they told me basically what was going on. They offered to fix it that same day which I greatly appreciate it and they gave me a discount the only thing that was not good is that they didn't have anything to drink no water no drinking fountain no coffee. They did have some chairs and a TV. The employees were very nice and friendly. The building seem kind of old and the lighting in there was horrible. They had the bathroom was clean. I think I paid a good price for my brakes to get fixed if I had to I would come back and I think they check your car for like 20 $25 to do a full examination of your car which is really good. Had an appointment scheduled for an oil change at 4pm. Place is clean and roomy with a little entertainment area with coffee, water and tv. Maria greeted us when we walked in and was nice and helpful. And the mechanic we ended up speaking to was non pressuring and friendly. Our car got pulled into the shop at 4:30pm and we where done by 5:30pm ..plus i seen the mechanic lay down the paper seats and flooring before stepping into my car like they should. Oops! I accidentally tapped the one star meant not to give any stars. Of all the Firestones I've used over the years this one is the worst I've ever used. The quote they gave was over $400 more than I was quoted. I looked at the charge of the parts and 3 of the parts I was charged double of what was the real price ( I checked), some of the labor seemed a little high according to other mechanics I talked too. Well never go there again. Oh forgot when first went there my A/C worked unfortunately I didn't check it til 3 weeks later because I was out on vacation for 2 and it didn't work the guy I talked to was kinda rude so I just went to another mechanic and got it fixed. read more

After an initial good experience with them handling a dead battery, oil change, and a wiper blade replacement with next to no notice I decided to give them another chance by recommending them to my partner for a simple air filter replacement. He had set up an appointment over a week in advance with all his vehicle details in the appointment, had the appointment confirmed and was good to go. On the day of the appointment he arrived and was told that they did not have the filter in stock and would not be able to do anything. On top of that he was told if he entered his vehicle details into the appointment then they would have had the filter on hand but we did have the details entered. I figured this could have been a one off occurrence and chose to set an appointment with them to address a large metal part that had punctured my tire. Early morning I set up the appointment after work and thought all was well. When I arrived however I was told that they are too backed up and they did not confirm the appointment time. I had no indication on the previous two visits that this was even a requirement and was left scrambling to find another repair shop at the end of the day. I would never recommend this place again nor will I take company vehicles to this shop in the future. read more

This review is only for the wheel alignment, and I am very disappointed with the service I got here. I made an appointment for alignment at 2pm, and the staff informed me it will take about 2-3 hours. I come back at 5:30pm and my car is still on the rack. There is no way it takes 4 hours to get an alignment done. What's the point of making an appointment if the store will just over book the appointments. Not to mention, alignment is still off on the rear right side. You think they will get it right after 4 hours. Nope! Now, I have to make another appointment to get it done again. What about a courtesy call to inform me to come in later since they are behind schedule? Nope, screw the customer that's why. Take your car and money some where else. Pulled up to the service area. Three gentlemen starred and none of them came to assist or even ask what I was looking for so I left.

They BROKE my Door handle and now the only way to close my door is from the Driver's seat and to roll down the window and pull it shut like some kind of car in a junkyard somewhere. My truck only has 30k miles on it, it's like new. They made ZERO effort to fix it and in fact LAUGHED in my FACE when I asked them what they were going to do about it. BEWARE this place if you expect your car to leave in better shape than you brought it in with. DO NOT COME HERE. Downloaded yelp and created an account just to leave this review. Went in at 1:00 to get an oil change and get the car care package. They said they were a bit behind in cars and would be 1 - 1.5 hours. I figured that was reasonable. Sat in the waiting room for almost 2.5 hours, watching as my car was NEVER moved from my parking spot. I checked my paper and it said it would be due at 3:05. I check the time and it's 3:05, with my car still in my parking spot. I go up to the counter to ask how long it'll be and they say about 15-20 more minutes before my car goes IN. Keep in mind the original guy said my car would be DONE in 1-1.5 hours. DO NOT GO HERE. They are way understaffed and will take 3 hours for something that is less than one hour to do. If I could give 0 stars I would. UPDATE: Found out they also scratched my driver side! Awesome service! read more

I went to Firestone on stine rd in Bakersfield California. I went on for what I thought was a wheel alignment. Before they even did the alignment they were so supposed to inspect my car and find out the issue. After charging me for a wheel alignment they tell me I need struts. Then I'm told the wheel alignment helped the issue. I drove out the parking and my car was doing the same exact thing as before and making the same exact sound. They lot did nothing. Charged me and then told me about the issue that they were going to try and charge me 640$ after I just paid 200 for a wheel alignment I did not need. Now 2 malfunction indicators are on in my car, which came on the next day. I'm suing them for any damages done to my car and the physical damage that could be done to me because they tampered with my car which is a danger to me. read more

If you need your car aligned, Don'T TAKE IT HERE!!! I experienced very careless service and poor professionalism. They made me loose 3 days and every day the manager will made dumb excuses why they couldn't work on my car. They also make me take my original rims and tires, which they later said they didn't need. I stopped in this joint to have an alignment and tire rotation done on my pickup. I called first, dropped off my vehicle and then walked back to work. I was called when the truck was ready for pickup, so job accomplished. I have deducted a star because the waiting area is kind of grungy and dated. I also was not pleased that no-one checked the air pressure in the tires during the alignment or tire rotation. I live in LA and got a flat tire on Highway 99 and was able to put on the spare but it was too late in the day to get the tire replaced and had to spend the night in Bakersfield. I've always used Goodyear tires but there aren't any real Goodyear stores in Bakersfield so I went to this Firestone if only because it opened an hour earlier than anyone else. I was the first person in the door at 7:00 am on a Saturday and ended up getting all 4 new Bridgestone tires with road hazard for under $800, which is a fair price. I already needed all new tires, so it's not like I was upsold or talked into buying 3 extra tires. I was out the door and on the road by 8:45. read more

Firestone earns an A+ from us for getting us back on the road quickly! We suffered a tire blowout on the 5 freeway driving between SF and LA at 8pm on a Sunday night and our spare wouldn't get us home. Decided to drive short distance into Bakersfield for better hotel and selection of tire stores and are so glad we did! Called a few tire stores early Monday morning, only Firestone had good brand replacement to fit our car. Maria was wonderful, told us to bring it straight in, and we were back on the road by 10am that morning. Can I give less than one star?! Don't go to this firestone! If you have to go to firestone it is WAY worth the trip to the one off stine/white lane area. I got an oil change here and they didn't put the oil cap back on. They did clean my engine off from all the oil that sprayed everywhere from that but broke my dipstick in the process. Then they gave me a Discount on a new dipstick. Then I pulled up and asked them to put air into my tires and they didn't put the cap back on! Not ever trusting them again! Even with the simple stuff! Under different management. I have been going here for years and always very happy. New management is polite but their time management is terrible. Had a 10am appointment and even brought it in an hour early. Didn't get my car back until the following night. They had it for two whole work days and I needed an alternator and belt. I went to Firestone on 23rd and Chester to have a simple oil change. It turned out to not be so simple. The mechanic put my car on the rack, in a few minutes the manager went out. After a while, they both came back into the office and told me they couldn't do the oil change because the oil plug had a silicone around it, therefore, I need a new oil pan, with extra cost for the gasket, and plug. Oh, the manager says, your battery is no good either. I asked what the cost of all this is. He hands the work order and the amount on it $932.56. I told the manager, if this is what my car needs, I will take my car to where the last oil change was. After I left, I went to Big O Tire instead on Oswell. I didn't tell the manager at Big O about what Firestone had told me. After Big O got through they called me up to the desk and said they are finished with my car. I asked if they found anything wrong. He said, No, why? and what about my battery? He said they checked everything, the battery, tires and everything are good. The cost of that oil change, $29.39. Quite a difference! Then I told him what Firestone had told me. He couldn't believe they were telling me what they did. I wrote to Bridgestone who owns Firestone and told them what happened and that I don't appreciate being scammed. I would hate to think of an eldery man or woman and get told they need these things done to their car. Not knowing any better, they would probably have the work done. Shame on Firestone!! read more

This place is nothing more than an place that can change oil, replace brake pads, and sell tires!! I've taken my truck there because it says "complete" auto care and twice I've been told they're "technicians" can't fix! Took it to an actual shop the first time and found the electrical short was due to a bad seat switch! The second time, I told them exactly what was wrong and it needed an o ring in the coolant bypass hose after doing research and after keeping it overnight, I was told again we don't work on those thing!! My question is why even tell me I've r the phone we can fix it if you know you can't? read more
