My fiasco began in late 2020 where I asked for a new liner, new plumbing and upgraded filtration system for my pool. I was told it would take 3-4 weeks. After not hearing from them for 6 weeks I called them back to find out they were ready for my pool upgrade and completion in October?! I relayed that I didn't want an upgrade in October, let's reschedule for early spring, preferably May. When I didn't hear from them in the Spring, I called and we were able to get my upgrade scheduled in early May 2021 as planned however when they came, they didn't have the liner I ordered...it was a surprise pattern. The crew that arrived didn't have the supplies they needed to complete the job even though I had sent many email's the previous late summer and fall to coordinate with them. They were "unaware" they were to complete new plumbing (and it hadn't been written into my contract). After several phone calls to the office, they did complete the plumbing but left with the main drain not plumbed to the pump, and the filter not plumbed to the pool. They also re-installed my 10 year old skimmer instead of placing a new one. I had to call back the next day because the plumbing was incomplete and the skimmer was leaking and needed replaced. After several phone calls they came back and fixed the skimmer and completed the plumbing to the pump and from the filter. The summer of 2021 I had trouble with my water all season, terrible algae and had never had that issue in the 10 years I had the pool. About 10 weeks following the upgrade, the pool developed a terrible leak losing 6-8 inches per day of water. I phoned Sparkle and the let me know they were not responsible and that "a carpenter ant could have chewed a hole in the liner". The person I spoke with made it adamantly clear they did not want to help me. I hung up without resolution and very frustrated at this point. I called back a second time without any resolution or plan to find the leak, they were rude and unhelpful. I was completely done with them at this point and asked my husband to call and try to work something out with them. He spoke with a man, John, who was rude, unhelpful and wanted to complain about me and a poor review that I had written on Google about them. John stated by the end of the conversation that they would be back in contact with us in a couple of days and come to investigate the leak. They never called, and never came. We closed the pool in 2021 with a leak and very frustrated. Spring of 2022 we decided to sell the pool...and when the people who purchased it from us called us over to see what they had discovered in the main drain line....it had been pieced together with some faulty tubing, slathered in glue and wrapped in duct tape! They had come to do my upgraded plumbing in 2021 without enough piping, and had pieced together without our knowledge faulty plumbing that had been leaking since they completed the upgrade! It took the 10 weeks for the sand underneath the pool to become wet enough that the leak was discoverable. I would never recommend anyone, even my worst enemy use this company for any pool services! Joe delayed our closing a few days which we were okay with. He never showed on the new day and then stopped responding. Based on the other reviews, not responding when there is an issue seems to be his MO. He bought our safety cover from him, I assume the "warranty" will not be covered either, just like all of the other complaints. Serving people seems to be a lost art. read more

We have been using Sparkle Pool Services and their team for all of our general pool maintenance, seasonal opening and closings for the past 3 seasons and will continue to use them for many to come. Not a very good pool service. In and out in 5 minutes and the chemical test numbers are made up.

Joe is unprofessional. He doesn't commit to his word. Keeps you hanging with no appointment. He makes sure you have future problems so you can call him again to fix what he caused. Low ethics with bad attitude. I will never call again. read more

It's a sad day when a company takes advantage of elderly customers and doesn't honor their warranty. Like many of the other reviews, Joseph Girgenti & Sparkle Pool Service performed poor work and then didn't honor their warranty. My in-laws are in their late 80s and through the years have taken exquisite care of their pool. Not long after Girganti completed repairs, it all started to fall apart. Mortar broke from between the tile & coping, tiles are falling off the wall. Where's Joe? These two old folks have been contacting him for FOUR YEARS-- and he is derelict-- a no-show. Perhaps he's waiting out his warranty, but what he is doing to these very elderly people--who paid him in full-- is just cruel. read more

Sparkle Pool Service is unlike any swimming pool company that I've used. Unlike the competition, they actually keep appointments, show up on time, are honest and do an excellent job! I can't say enough good things about this company! We have used Sparkle Pool Service for opening and closing our pool. We have also had them do an occasional cleaning, which is done really well. And we call them every time we have a water issue, like yellow mold. They are very responsive and do a great job! read more

We just had Sparkle Pools out to do our seasonal closing on our approx 30x50 freeform gunnite pool. They were able to fit us in quickly, were VERY friendly and helpful in answering any questions that we had. They came in a group of 3-4 and worked quickly and everything went smoothly. Joe and his "Sparkle team" of professionals are the best. From openings and closings, pool equipment maintenance, or, simply, explaining, in laymen's terms how to resolve an issue without charge, they do it all. We have been using Sparkle for years in two homes with two pools and we couldn't be more satisfied. 5 Stars for Joe and the Sparkle team. Will not help the "little guy" Joe told me he could not come back to my residential pool where I was having problems after he came the first time because he could get a "much larger check" from apartment complex pools. 2 weeks worth of trying to get him to come back because he had not fixed our problem he kept texting me that he's "popular" and makes "a lot of money from huge jobs" and then he proceeded to tell me the exact amount that he would be receiving from some of his other jobs. I still have record of such texts. Very unprofessional. I will never use Sparkle Pools again. Very disappointed. read more

I have a serious warranty issue with the pool resurfacing that Joe did for me. The product he used is clearly faulty and my pool looks terrible. After months of trying to get him to respond to me, he finally showed up. He promised to reach out to the company that supplies him with the resurfacing product and get back to me with a resolution. He has not and does not respond to calls and texts. He leaves me with no choice but to seek alternative methods to get him to address this warranty issue. read more

Sparkle pool is amazing! No, I don't work there but the people Joe hires are the best. They redid our pool a few years ago and did a splendid job. This year when we opened our pool it had what I would call a bathtub ring around it. I spent hours unsuccessfully attempting to clean it. Joe had a crew out and was done in less than an hour, and at a reasonable price. We will always use them for our pool needs. read more
