They advised the key had a lanyard/string around it. I was very perplexed by this because we have all keys that were issued to us and never have we had any keys with strings/lanyards around them. I went to the facility and thankfully nothing appeared missing. I called management and advised that my lock they issued must have been recycled because someone must have had a key and unlocked it. I asked if they would replace my lock with a new one. I also asked perhaps they were mistaken and it was a different storage room than mine that they found unlocked. The manager became defensive and said I was accusing her of being dishonest and that it is against their policy to recycle locks. She said she had a picture of my unit when she found it unlocked, and she knows it was mine unlocked. I asked if she could send me the picture and she said she no longer has it. I informed her that I am not accusing anyone of dishonesty, but rather that there must have been some mistake on their end- either they mistakenly identified the unlocked storage facility as mine or they mistakenly used the same lock on our unit so that a previous renter still has a key. The manager said they would not replace my lock and if I wanted to I could go buy another one and ended the call. Wow. I will be moving out of this storage facility. The mistake is on their end and instead of hearing me out, replacing the lock, they told me it was my fault and to deal with it. No thanks. I want a facility that is going to keep my stuff safe and then support me if there are issues.

We've been there for a few years and our rent kept going up despite all the difficulties getting to…read morethe units with construction as well as they don't seem to keep the grounds as clean as other facilities because there are tons of bugs all over the outside of units and until recently we had hardly any spider webs but they have gotten worse so I think it's an indication of the fact the grounds are not as clean as they should be and maybe the pest control is lacking from before. There's areas where there is puddles of mud that form when it is rain making it dangerous and difficult getting to one of our units and during the summer this area seemed to be an issue with mosquitoes and when we bring our son both of these were always a concern to have to keep reminding him to stay out of it or be careful and to come home with mosquito bites. We mainly moved due to price increases and the fact we found something closer to our home with controlled air space but the fact they were not keeping the grounds as clean sure made it a lot easier to make the decision despite the cost to move which is not cheap.

It's another "small" bump on the cost of the unit. Since lost people have them on auto pay you would never even notice. The storage units are well-lit and clean and they offer multiple sizes. In the past, I have really worried about the safety of my belongings that I have left in a storage unit- that was not at all the case with Byrd's. Both of their Dawsonville locations are in good areas and I never worried about something happening to my storage unit. They have units that can be accessed only by a gate and password, as well as, ones that can be entered without going through a gate. I rented one that did not require gate entry and had no problems. When it was time for me to move my stuff, they helped me find a great local mover. It makes it very convenient that they also offer U-Haul rentals. What really impressed me was their low pricing in comparison to many metro Atlanta storage units. You also get the first month free!

I paid in full, showed up after a weekend camping to a spot that is loose gravel, on a large hill with an uneven "driveway" and grade. The spot 227 should never be offered to rent- no wonder it is the last available. A skilled driver cannot even park a camper there. Absolutely disgusted with the way I have been treated and the office staff has a demeanor no one should have to deal with. I did have to stand my ground and ask for the owner to call me, in which I was answered with "you can email him" HOW UNPROFESSIONAL. Also described to Angela what an unacceptable and unaccessible storage space I was provided and "thanks for your opinion" was my only resolution. Sorry but, it's not an opinion, it is FACTS. I have never one day stored my camper there. I am asking for a refund in which I got a hard NO. I am reaching out here for a resolution.
