Dr. Wolcott and the other Dentists, Hygienists, Dental Assistants, and even the front desk staff are all really helpful. The office is updated and I love that they show before and after pictures. During my initial visit, I had some plaque build up due to poor flossing habits. One of the staff members was kind enough to show me how to properly floss. A simple educational service was important for me for active prevention. That was one of the reasons why I have trusted Dr. Jan and her staff with my dental care and why I returned today. I had my dental cleaning performed today by the dental hygienist, Erin. She was very kind, caring, and engaging. She noticed a problem I have been having for a while now - biting my right cheek. She spoke in layman terms and only furthered my confidence in the care given here. Nowadays, I feel that it's hard to find a doctors office that not only possess the medical knowledge but also the compassion that commits to establishing a relationship with their patients. I feel that this office is superb in providing care on both the clinical and administrative side, such as scheduling appointments. Molly was kind enough text me to schedule an appointment which is super convenient for me since it's hard for me to speak on the phone during working hours. Small acts like this is really what differs my experience with other dental offices. I have recommended this office to my fiancé whom is also more than satisfied with the care received at this practice. To Dr. Janbakhsh and the staff at Modern Smile Dental, thank you all for all that you do. :)

Heads up - the internal communication at this office is really poor. Office claims to be busy so they schedule everything far out, but hardly anyone is ever there. Office also lied about submitting approval for procedures, which is bad news for you because the dentist at this location said it is on the patient to work with insurance. It's an indication that they are not following basic practices required to run a dentist office in Maryland. I can't comment on the quality of care because the only thing I could get done were x-rays.

I had a tooth abscess, my last molar failed, so no molars bottom left side of my mouth from injury. Dentist referred Dr Azghandi for implants, said "oh he's the best!". First appointment was to evaluate the pros/cons of removing the tooth, & if I decided yes we could remove it that day. Azghandi gave me a 1 minute explanation & said he'd let me decide.. meanwhile as I was considering the surgery, he was pacing back & forth and asking the dental assistant if I made my decision yet, clearly acting impatient with his prospective "patient". I decided to have my molar extracted and we started surgery right away. During surgery, I politely asked if that noise was him extracting the tooth, and he replied in a loud/condescending manor, "You don't need to know that!!".. I was a bit taken back by his rudeness & inability to communicate properly, surgery goes on, & he finally removes my tooth with lots of effort, my teeth have very long roots and prior tooth extractions were not fun (I've had all my wisdom teeth & the rear molars removed for braces, 8 teeth total pulled, then my rear molar cracked from a dentist filling and that rear left molar was removed, leaving my bottom left jaw with 1 last molar which he was removing that day.) He put a cadaver bone in to build up the bone line, had to do this twice because the first one was too small to fill the void. Next 2 days I had to take pain meds because they ran out that night, the third day/morning I called in the office to ask for a refill and I told them I just needed enough to get through the day because I was going to work in the field & was still in a lot of discomfort. They said I needed to come into the office & Azghandi wanted to see me, I told them it was not happening because I was on my way to a customer's house at 8:30am, & if he could just write a refill for a small amount to get me through the day, that is all I was looking for. They refused to do so and left me hanging in pain all day, I took 2 Tylenol extra strength and was STILL feeling an aching/throbbing in my jaw and was working in discomforting pain the whole day. Fast forward to the 1 month follow up visit, I confirmed the appointment about 3 times for 11:30am, I arrived at 11:28am, and the office assistant said "Oh well the Dr. is about to go into surgery, we didn't think you were coming for your appointment", I said I confirmed my appointment with you multiple times, why would you make me take time off of work for this appointment just to go do surgery on someone else, complete disrespect to me & my time. She ended up getting Azghandi to stop prepping for his surgery and he saw me, literally took 1 minute for him to look in my mouth & say "everything looks fine, see you in a few more months." So I go to check out and ask about the next appointment, and she tells me that my 1 implant could get scheduled in May, and I said No, it's 2 implants that I need, not one (I had no molars bottom left jaw but 2 molars top left jaw), like WTF, what doctor would give you a half-assed solution? I told her to get the doc so I can talk to him, she hesitated, delayed a few minutes then got up and checked on the dr. and then came back and told me he was in surgery and couldn't see me, and that I needed to reschedule, and had the audacity to tell me and straight up lie to me that I was late to my appointment and that somehow I was to blame for their incompetence. I was furious, these people screwed me over and had no remorse and tried blaming me for their incompetence, what professional does that?? I had to walk away from this complete waste of time and absolute terrible business practice, looked at my phone and it was 11:47am as I walked down the long hallway. I've since contacted another periodontist who completed a full assessment & even found I needed a gum graft very soon for 1 tooth!

I have never had trouble making any appointments here or billing problems. To me, that's actually worthy of mentioning because not many regular physicians or dental offices know how to submit claims to TriCare without problems. I also love the ultra gentle and compassionate care I have received every single time from Tatyana. The dental cleaning is actually extremely pleasant thanks to Tatyana's meticulous attention to details and her gentle touch and use of instruments. She used to be a professional pianist and she very much utilizes that aspect in treating and handling my teeth and gum. It's also a bonus that she is extremely speedy with the procedure. I've never had her take more than 30-45 minutes to complete my dental cleaning. That also contributes to my appointments with her being on time EVERY SINGLE TIME. Furthermore, I have had a rare incident where I was having a bad toothache that turned out to be not caused by cavities or anything. Dr. Levitt was able to identify that my clenching the jaw and possibly misaligned spine may be the cause. She was able to figure out the issue and solution very quickly and I was able to obtain information on where I can go to get it fixed. In sum, I would always choose Dr Levitt's office over others because I have been also cavities or dental problems free for 6 years now. That's right. NO DENTAL PROBLEMS FOR 6+ YEARS. Easy and on-time appointments, fuss-free billing, great hygienist and dentist. I mean isn't that the epitome of a perfect dental office?
