The receptionist did not even greet me. She told me to "hold on one second" and then told the doctor that I had my baby with me, which I understood could be an issue. I said that was okay and that I would come back when I had childcare. However, she insisted that I could still do a consultation. It felt like the only reason for this was so they could still collect a payment from me. I explained that the doctor already had my X-rays and records, and that I could simply reschedule, but the receptionist kept insisting. I spoke with the Doctor, and he barely gave me any information before telling me to wait in another room for an examination. At that point, I started to feel uncomfortable, so I walked out and told them to call me to reschedule. Then the patient coordinator told me I owed $56.78. I said that was fine, but I needed to go to the bank to get the money. Her attitude immediately became rude and nasty toward me. I went to the bank, got the money, and came back to pay without any issue. One major red flag was that no one could clearly explain the total cost of procedures. At every other dentist office I have been to, I have always been given straightforward pricing information. Here, they could never give me a clear answer about costs or fees. Overall, this place felt more focused on getting money than providing quality patient care.

From August 2025 through June 2026, I was repeatedly assured by Jasmine and later Noah that I would receive a refund for both procedures. After 11 months, I received a refund for only the crown. When I reached out seeking a resolution regarding the remaining refund, I was met with an aggressive text message from the provider, Maryam Honnakar, despite the fact that the need for multiple follow-ups was caused by the year-long delay. Maryam also showed a lack of accountability regarding the infected filling that ultimately led to an emergency root canal. Rather than acknowledging the issue, she attributed the infection and resulting damage to the tooth's internal pulp and nerve tissue to a "vulnerable tooth." Additionally, a note attached to the refund summary states, "If you have any questions regarding this summary, please contact our office," along with a phone number. However, when I attempted to do exactly that, my concerns were not addressed professionally.

She dismissed it, and told me I needed Invisalign to resolve my problem. Against I explained the history of the problem and that a previous dentist had addressed the issue effectively. She became noticeably irritated and argumentative, and raised her voice. I literally stopped talking. At one point she reached for my mouth and touched my lip with an ungloved hand. I asked her to not touch my mouth with ungloved hands. I did not engage with her any further as she cleaned my teeth. She proceeded to clean my teeth, and continued to talk about the issue I'd presented initially (in a slightly more calm manner). At one point she pulled down her mask to show me her Invisalign. I asked her to pull her mask back up as I was unmasked (basic COVID precaution). Once she was done cleaning my teeth I asked her if I could give her some feedback. She agreed. I said, "I trust your intent, but you have to think about impact as well when you interact with patients. When you're trying to communicate with and educate a patient, getting irritated and argumentative isn't going to make your patient hear you. I can't hear you when you're raising your voice, getting noticeably irritated, and arguing with me. She apologized. Also, you shouldn't touch a patient's mouth with ungloved hands." She turned away from me, clenched her jaw, and didn't say a word, again visibly upset. I communicated the same concerns to Dr. Wang at the front desk. Her first response was to say she hadn't seen her do that. Her second response was to ask what I do. I replied, I'm a nurse. Her response was, "Oh, so you're in the field." Why do you have to qualify my feedback with what I do for a living? A provider should care about my feedback because what happened is unacceptable and I'm your patient, not because I'm in the medical field. At no point did she say she'd speak with the employee and address the behavior. I'm incredibly disappointed in any medical establishment that doesn't hold employees accountable for their negative behavior, despite it's impact on patients. No one should be able to behave this way with impunity. I won't be returning. UPDATE: The info the dentist provided on the cost of fillings (said my insurance wouldn't cover them so is I'd have to pay 1000s), was not accurate. I just saw another dentist who assessed me and determined I needed far less dental work. Also, they informed me dental work would be covered at 80%, meaning I'd only have to pay a few $$$ out-of-pocket. Accurate info will save you 1000s, apparently. In response to my review, the front desk emailed me telling me they're sorry I'm frustrated. Really, that's what you got from my feedback? What I would've liked to hear is how she will address her employee's behavior. Anything else is just lip service.

My latest visits that included oral surgery, root canal and a crown were performed by Dr. Yasmin Akhlaghi, who is apparently new to the center, as her name is not yet included in the team on the Center's website. While relatively young, she impressed me with her knowledge, proficiency and exceptional hand skills. She's kind, professional, gets to know me as a person, and she knows what she's doing. Dental hygienists can be hit or miss but she consistently exceeds my expectations (and I'm not an easy patient). The dentists that I typically (Dr. Schwartz or Dr. Kim) provide me all the advice and guidance I need, and I've never felt that they push me into any unnecessary procedures or add-ons. The practice itself is well-run. I never wait more than a couple minutes, I don't feel like they're rushing me through, and I recall any billing issues over the years. They also run a tight ship regarding covid procedures. I don't typically write reviews but I saw a few old negative posts and felt compelled to chime in with my experience.
