During my first visit, 99% of the work was done by a hygienist, yet Dr. Li quickly claimed several of my teeth were so worn down they would soon be 'unsalvageable' without immediate treatment. This contradicted my previous dentist's assessment. On my second visit, Dr. Li insisted I needed a full-head X-ray, claiming it was my insurance requirement and that refusing it would be 'malpractice' on her part. I later discovered my insurer had no such requirement. A second opinion from a different dentist has since confirmed that no work is necessary and that minor wear is normal for my age (78). I found Dr. Li's approach to be unprofessional and profit-driven rather than patient-centered.

Dr. Gildenhorn was amazing he explained everything to me. Beyond the procedure I have to say his personality is amazing. He's funny and direct and really cares You can tell he is super busy but I would expect that from a great dentist. Thanks to him I felt comfortable and appreciated. His assistant Maria was a doll. She completely made me feel great and she was very personable. Her smile made me feel great to have her around. She's beautiful inside and out. The procedure unfortunately did not help but it was perfectly done. I have no complaints or regrets. It's just one of those moments where luck wasn't on my side. Since I was indeed in dire pain I came back to him for a check up. The X-ray showed nothing but we decided on a root canal because of the excruciating pain. He apologized over and over and said he didn't like to see me in pain so he asked to give me an appt to Dr. Tran the specialist for a root canal ASAP. I only had to wait a day for her to be in office. Oh man I cannot express enough gratitude to her and her assistant Jessica. I myself am not your average person. I like to show love and appreciation to people. My own way of making the world a better place one person at a time. And they were very accommodating to me. They even played my favorite music while I had my procedure to calm me down and give me a more comfortable experience. I'd also like to take a moment to thank the front desk staff members I met. It didn't take long to get my new trays but had a bit of miscommunication with the follow up appointment. Once I got to the office, they took my temp and Greta, the tech, did a great job adding my new attachments. Dr, Khamas didn't keep his word with me and is totally ignoring what drove me away. It's not the amount I paid for a service I didn't need at the time (and you can say it was needed all you want), this is about me coming to back to a practice that I wanted to leave due to bad experiences, being told that things would be better and ultimately experiencing things were still the same. I would come in for an appointment and 2pm and not get seen for 45 minutes, the constant upselling and wasting my time after my regular hygienist left was enough. When I came back in person to speak to Dr. Khamas and express my displeasure for having to chase down his bill collectors and ask him to keep his word he told me that he couldn't do that because the insurance company could sue him and I said if you don't keep your word to me I will walk out and be sure to dedicate time to make sure he understands that I have been wronged and he let me walk out the door.

She's kind, professional, gets to know me as a person, and she knows what she's doing. Dental hygienists can be hit or miss but she consistently exceeds my expectations (and I'm not an easy patient). The dentists that I typically (Dr. Schwartz or Dr. Kim) provide me all the advice and guidance I need, and I've never felt that they push me into any unnecessary procedures or add-ons. The practice itself is well-run. I never wait more than a couple minutes, I don't feel like they're rushing me through, and I recall any billing issues over the years. They also run a tight ship regarding covid procedures. I don't typically write reviews but I saw a few old negative posts and felt compelled to chime in with my experience. Edit: for some reason it says that I'm in San Francisco but I'm here in Montgomery County.

So, I ended up driving roundtrip about 70 minutes, with no dental care to show for it. I just contacted them to ask them to make their policy a bit more flexible to accommodate patients who face similar unavoidable delays, but as of now they're unwilling to revisit their policy. I actually hope they read this and reconsider. I'd like to be their patient and I think the other 3 member of my family would too. We understand the hardship that dental practices encounter, with a schedule to stick to and all that--but their current policy is draconian, inconsiderate and disrespectful.
