Friendly staff, but sloooooooow service and menu is way overpriced. We first came in here several years ago and the place has not improved.

This used to a favorite for my husband and I but after tonights experience we will not be returning. The service was slow and mediocre. And it wasn't that busy in there. It is also very overpriced for the quality of the food. I don't mind paying a lot for good food. But this was just not good. My husbands filet mignon (which cost 24.95!!!!!) was very poorly prepared and overcooked. The gravy was from a jar and the potatoes were undercooked. And I had to send back my chicken ravioli because it was just down right discusting. I replaced it with chicken parmesan which was very tasty. But they seem to put wine in everything there and I'm not a fan. The fried meatballs were tasty and the bread that comes with your meal is delish! Over $80 for an over all disappointing experience. read more

Calimarri isn't the best I have tasted. Scallops are amazing and so is the garlic bread, greens were great too. Service is amazing and so is the atmosphere. Family owned Italian and as you step through the doors you know it. Definitely recommend. read more

Years ago we used to come here weekly. The quality of the food was much better back then. Unfortunately our last visit will indeed be our last. After an OK meal nothing great and after paying The bill-of which has gone up in my opinion too much recently at this restaurant for the quality of food-one Gentleman (and I use that term loosely) came over and said looks like you're done we need the table. He did this with a minute or two of Ipaying the bill. He didn't ask is there anything else you need or Can I get you something else.Basically he was kicking us out of the restaurant as we took the last sips of our drinks. Later I found out apparently the guy is a part owner in the restaurant. you think he would know better. Our server however was great she was very pleasant and smiling and made you feel welcome. She didn't know anything about this episode. Bless her for putting up with such an idiot for a boss. read more

This year for my Grandmothers 94th birthday dinner she chose the Spaghetti Kettle. Reservations made for 6:15 for a 5 top. Understandable 5 diners at one table is an odd number. We arrived early and had drinks at the bar. Around 6:30 we asked about an update on the table and we were told to wait while they accommodate, due to the odd number of us. "If you had 6 we could seat you." We watched multiple tables empty and refill with walk in customers. At 7pm we left. Grams still got the veal parm but not where she wanted. read more

Had dinner with some family members tonight at The Spaghetti Kettle. Three of the meals were satisfactory, one had no taste whatsoever and the fifth was a joke. My husband ordered a caesar salad with grilled chicken. It was made with iceberg lettuce and chunks of dried bread for croutons. Caesar salad is made with romaine lettuce and that is exactly what the menu stated. When we pointed it out to the waitress, she brought it to the owners attention. He then came over to our table with a nasty attitude, gave the impression he could care less, offered a lame excuse for providing ice berg instead of Romaine, and simply tossing the word "sorry" over his shoulder as he walked away. He acted like he was being bothered with the facts and was annoyed with us. He took nothing off the bill even though we received a meal that was anything other than how it was described on the menu. Bad business!! We won't be back EVER! Oh and to make matters worse, the atmosphere was horrible - it was so loud we couldn't even have a conversation with the person next to us. read more

Terrible wine. Lasagna tasted like it had been previously frozen, certianly not fresh, and over salted. Bill for 3 was $70.00. Very expensive for what you get. Never going back, would never recommend. read more

Portions were generous and you can't beat the price! $24 Prime Rib that was cooked to perfection, garlic bread to melt your tastebuds, however, potatoes were dry and very starchy. The Veal Parm $17 was not so good. The texture was leather-like and its almost as though it was over-smothered with sauce to disguise it and it had a tinny taste to it. The dish came with a very small portion of pasta that was very dry because it came with very little sauce. We ordered a bottle of wine to compliment the meal that was opened at the bar prior to being presented at the table so not quite sure if it was the bar bottle but it was a little flat. Our waitress (Kirsten) was very attentive and very apologetic for the extremely loud table in the room. Needless to say, the atmosphere is that of a pub style, very loud and not very easy to have a conversation over dinner. After dinner we proceeded to the bar where we had good conversation with the barhand and the rest of the staff but they may want to consider keeping their negative comments about other customers private and take it to the kitchen. We haven't been to this establishment for years and now I remember why. Quality is mediocre at best and professionalism is less than what should be expected. read more

This is our absolute favorite little neighborhood restaurant. Let me warn you, on a Fri. or Sat. night the waiting line may be out the door. Why? It's a cosy, warm and friendly, casual, reasonably priced and serves delicious food. Italian is the speciality, the sauce is delicious and portions are ample. Their chicken riggies, can compete with in any this area and they offer your choice mild, medium and hot sauce. On Friday there are fish specials and my favorite is the Haddock Marinara, a large fillet of light and flaky fish nicely topped with plenty of sauce and cheese. Pasta would be the logical choice of side dish but I love the garlic mashed potatoes with just a lump or two so you know they are real. The fried seafood is done well, meat is perfectly cooked, pasta al dente, salad crisp and fresh, if a bit unimaginative, and with dressing always served on the side. Some other niceties: bread arrives at the table warm with butter melted on the top, water is served in a sparkling glass with a slice of lemon and, best of all, the bartender pours a generous glass of wine. Maybe it isn't "fine dining" but the Spaghetti Kettle offers way more than just pizza and pasta. We always eat well and usually take left overs home for lunch. read more

This will be a long review Started out with a ten min wait which was fine had no issue waiting. Went over to the bar and got a drink bar tender didn't charge us for our ice teas which was nice of him. Got called to our table after about 15 mins no problem got us in quick. After we sat down we sat there for about 20 mins before anyone even came over and said they would be taking care of us or took a drink/appetizer order. By the time she got there we were ready to order our entire meal, salad, drinks, and appetizer came out right away literally at the same time, was expecting good service after this but nope took about an hour after our salads arrived to get our meal. Everything was overpriced I paid over $15 for a bowl of pasta with some chicken and hot sauce. All the staff constantly sits by the bar talking to the bar tender instead of cleaning tables up or asking if everything is ok. Our waitress never came to us once asking if we needed anything had to constantly stop her on her way through to get something. Food was very oily and had little flavor, for the price should be a lot more food and a lot better. Decor is very outdated very dark inside and temperature fluctuates constantly. From what I could see other people were not happy with their meals overheard a group of people next to us talking about how they were not going to be leaving a tip, they arrived at their table around the same time as us and service was just as slow for them. And again staff is always hanging out at the bar so if your planning on eating at the bar im sure you'll get great service because there is always someone standing there talking to the bar tender. Overall bad experience would have preferred going to the byrn dairy gas station cross the street and eating pizza that was left in the case all day. read more

Looks nice when you first walk in except for the tables and chairs. There seems to have been a lot of thought into the decor but the tables and chairs look like they came from a backwoods truck stop diner. They have no place in an establishment that calls itself "Fine Family Dining." Ordered Greens. They were the worst that I have ever had. A disgrace to the Utica/Rome traditional recipe. They came out soggy and bland. No crispness to the bread crumbs and instead of prosciutto they used cheap ham. Was shocked to find out that there were no free refills on soda, and that for 1.99 you get less than 8 ounces. The salad that cam with the meal was one old slice of tomato, 2 dried out olives and a ton of iceberg lettuce, mostly the white heart part. Where was the onions, shaved carrots, croutons and other fixings of a good salad? Worst of all was my steak. I ordered a Filet Mignon for $20.00, and granted that is not a very expensive steak, but this steak was the worst steak that i have ever had. For $20.00 the steak should at least be better than what i can cook at home. Finally we ordered desert for the kid, he got a chocolate cake. He took one bite and pushed it away. Kids love desert, they will even eat it if it is only have way descent. For a kid to push away a chocolate cake it has to be one terrible chocolate cake. I will NEVER go back there again!!!!! read more

We stopped into this place for lunch because my other favorite Riggie place was closed on Sunday. We ordered Chicken Riggies and Mac + Cheese for the kids and we were blown away. Outstanding! I think the Riggie sauce was one of the best sauces I've ever tasted. The M+C was superb too. My husband and I get cravings for their Riggies and wished they delivered to Colorado. The atmosphere was laid back and the waiter was very professional. Can't wait to go back next year! read more

Was there last night for dinner with my girlfriend and her family for a valentine's dinner. Got there at 5:45 for a 6 o'clock reservation got sat right away but then things went downhill...I ordered the special a piece of prime rib after 20 to 30 min. the waitress comes over and tells me that they gave my order which was up to another customer and they now have no more so i need to order something else which came out overcooked as well. Then when we get the check i was charged for the more expensive meal and an extra glass of wine that someone else got....I went and talked to a person i think was the owner and he reluctantly took off the extra wine and lowered the price of my meal to the price of what it would have been for the rib only a 3 dollar difference. I have worked in restaurants before and they did not handle this situation good at all, they should have come and talked to us at the table or even offered to comp my meal because after all it was their mistake by giving away my meal....Can't say if i will be going back anytime soon, previous experiences were fine but this really left me very disappointed.... read more
