    Theme for tv interview.

Ladies and gentlemen... get ready for a long review, because it's pretty much impossible to put into words just how amazing Melody is. I'll get this started by saying that I am definitely a no makeup type of girl (I'm lazy, friends). I never wear makeup and had no idea how to do anything besides putting on mascara. Soooo, when I was asked to represent Panama in this year's COFECA events (Central American heritage events) I was panicking. The events included a televised parade (I was on a float), a tv interview (at 3 a.m.), and a coronation at a park (in blazing heat), just to name a few. Now... how was I going to find someone willing to do my makeup for a tv show at 3 in the morning?! How was I going to find someone who could plaster makeup on my face and make it last ALL DAY on my sweaty face and then make it through an evening gala event? Then... I found Melody! First off, she's a total doll to work with. Her little studio is the cutest thing ever. You feel like a princess while she's getting you ready. She is a total perfectionist and will make sure you look PERFECT before you leave. She's also super fun and makes sure you and your makeup will stand out, depending on what type of lighting is used at your event (outside during the day? In a cave in the middle of the night? She can do it all.). :) I have wanted totally different looks for these events (she has done my makeup and hair four times already) and she has absolutely delivered (pictures below).I have more events coming up, and I'm going to wear super funky costumes with headdresses, wings, feathers and more, so I'll post more pictures when the time comes - she has some metallic makeup which is going to be SO MUCH FUN. I also will say that one of my events coming up will be in traditional Panamanian folkloric clothing (a pollera) and she's doing my makeup again. It takes guts to do makeup for an event like that because of its cultural significance, and I completely trust her to do the job. Finally - she did a one on one makeup workshop with me and now I can do my own makeup (I mean... I'm no pro, but I actually feel comfortable doing it)! I guess the takeaway here is... if you need someone to do fun, fresh, and exciting makeup- Melody is your girl. She's awesome, and you'll leave with a beautiful face and a beautiful friend!

My wife and I had our routine Age Defying facial today. Honestly, men should incorporate professional skincare into their maintenance as we are living longer and need to care for our skin early. Another plus today was removal of a cherry angioma which I have had on my neck for at about 18 years. Pampering is not only for women anymore. Thank you Facial Cafe for adding years of youth to my face!!

It's a new year and I want to be good about my health and skin, inside and out. So I decided to try this place which I found on Yelp with good reviews, decent prices and only 5 minutes from my house. I made reservation for the Diamond Glow Facial 2 weeks before for Monday at 4 pm and requested Olga based off reviews. I received a reminder text the morning of and sent my confirmation text back. I arrived 15 minutes early and was greeted by Olga. She was extremely nice and told me what the Diamond Glow Facial included which was the microdermabrasion, light peel, facial massage, etc. all about 60 mins. Tip: Do not wear a necklace because they really massage your neck and chest. The massage was awesome. It was not half-assed at all!! She took her time, went into my shoulders, upper back and scalp. I've had a microdermabrasions before so I knew the process. The light peel...never done any peels before but Olga said no downtime and just to moisturize often. Didn't feel anything crazy at the time of the facial. So, we shall see. The whole experience was so relaxing and comfortable. I like that at the end that there were no sales pitch and no pushing me to buy any products. It was more of hope you enjoyed it and will come back for more. Which, I will. My face was smooth and glowing at the end. They have so many facial options for a good price.

So I desperately searched Yelp for "facial" and found Kawehi Skin by work so I called to make an appointment and they were able to fit me in after work on a Friday night. I arrived early since you typically have to fill out a questionnaire prior to facials. Sandy, the owner, was my esthetician. My appointment was for 4:30pm but her previous client wasn't done until 4:40pm and then we chatted a bit about my options until about 4:50pm since they had no menu and their website is a bit outdated. She explained to me that Kawehi Skin is a customized experience so she usually looks at her clients' skin and then discuss the recommendations and let the customer decide how to proceed. I communicated that I would prefer a menu so I know what I am paying for, but at the same time I can tell Sandy was very caring and was being genuine about her service. I felt very conflicted since I usually like things defined. But she reassures me that the business is transitioning to new menus and they will completely revamp their services soon. So we proceed with my facial and my skin was definitely dry. We did 2 cleanses, steam, enzymes to digest the dead skin cells, a calming mask in parallel with a shoulder massage, microdermabrasion, and then moisturizing drops at the end. This was about an hour for $95. Sandy mentions that the services here aren't timed. In theory it is sweet that they take all the time they need on the client... but in practice that means they can be running late to their next appointment. For the record, the value was really fair for the services and upgrades I decided on. Also there is a sign out front that says "Credit Card transactions are subject to a 2.75% fee." I don't mind paying a fee, but I wished someone would have mentioned it prior so I could have went and got cash. And also I did not like a percent. It's fair to me if the business charge the flat rate that the bank charges them -- but I like advanced notice. I asked Sandy if a debit card counts as a credit card. To her credit, Sandy did not charge me the transition charge since it was my first visit. I'm not taking away any points for this since my fee was waived, but I feel like it is important for the business and patrons to be aware. Sandy was very sweet and I enjoyed her service. They are super close to work and the prices are fair. However I can't give them a 5 star when my appointment start time was late and the menu and prices are so undefined. I plan to come back when they have their menus up and business model revamped. I would be more than happy to give them that 5 stars when they earn it.

Several staff were on duty so we could have our treatment simultaneously. The room I was in was cozy, clean and somewhat feminine; with draping curtains around the comfortable, padded table. I was provided a bolster which Karen placed under my knees. She had noticed my grimace when I stood earlier and knew my back hurt. The facial lasted an hour. I can't tell much about it other than three points. 1- I was coaxed into a hypnotic state. My body relaxed and mind gently observed. 2- I felt nurtured and pampered. 3- my skin feels fabulous. The experience was comforting and oh so enjoyable. Kay was pleased by her care from Mary. She remarked at the pleasure of not being offered to purchase product. I have to agree. Critical feedback: I was asked 4x how I learned about the spa. When I made the appointment, when I checked in, on the intake form, and by my clinician.

This facial also stimulates collagen production and tones your face. It was a perfect pre-birthday treat for myself. Booking was easy on the website and all their services have a good description to determine what best fits your needs. I had to reschedule my initial appointment, and for that you need to call in. They send you a text reminder, and you must cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment to avoid a fee. One special thing to note is if you book a service that's at least an hour, you receive a complimentary foot soak as long if you arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment. This was a nice touch. When I arrived, Cristina, from the front desk walked me to their quiet room, which has the ultimate relaxation vibes. She was amazing! She had my foot soak ready to go, along with a heated neck wrap and a blanket. On top of that, she made me a delicious vanilla chamomile tea, accompanied by a chocolate. A literal pampering angel. My facial was done by Chasity. She was also so nice and she gave me plenty of time to change and get comfortable in the spa bed. She listened to my skin concerns and tailored the products for my face. Throughout my appointment, she explained each step of the facial. At one point I was so relaxed, I fell asleep. Before I left, I signed up for their busy bee membership so I can make sure to keep up with my skincare goals. Thank you, Lemon and Honey Day Spa, your staff was amazing!
