I am thrilled that I did! Carrie is incredibly thorough before she begins your treatment. She visually and physically checks your skin while asking you questions about your wants and concerns. Her room is private, inviting and super relaxing too! I highly recommend added the glycolic acid treatment...well worth the money for the results you see almost immediately. Yesterday I purchased a groupon for a microdermabrasion and microcurrenf service with Carrie. I was lucky enough to get in the next day (today). Before entering the salon I was so nervous because I've never had a facial but as soon as meeting Carrie I felt that I was in good hands. Carrie is very knowledgeable in her profession. She was there to answer any of my questions to help better understand my skin type and what I can do. I opted to upgrade my experience with the $30 glycolic acid treatment *highly recommend. Love going to Carrie for facials (and mini massages!). I've only been twice at this point in time, but both times I've come out of there more relaxed than I've probably ever been. I have some skincare issues that I want to take care of, mostly acne scarring and pore congestion, and Carrie will essentially tailor your treatment to what fits best. I booked a facial with her quite last minute (less than 24 hours before the appointment), and she was flexible and accommodating to my hectic schedule. Placed in a prime location on PCH on the second floor of a mini mall, this spa is elegant yet unpretentious. They offer a variety of customizable facial and body treatments, at reasonable prices. Upon arrival, I was asked to fill out some brief paperwork, and then lead to a private room. The room was dimly lit and simply decorated, with relaxing music playing softly in the background. Carrie offered me a hand treatment for an additional $10, which I accepted and highly recommend. The masque left my hands feeling incredibly soft and improved the dry skin on my knuckles. As I got comfortable on the (heated!) massage bed, we discussed my skin type and concerns. After taking a closer look at my skin, she recommended that I try their Vitamin C facial, which assists in plumping (great for dry skin like mine), as well as neutralizing free radicals in the skin and providing a healthy glow. The treatment was not only relaxing and beneficial, but educational. Carrie is a wealth of knowledge, and explained the purpose of each component of the facial. I learned a lot about my skin and how to care for it. The light shoulder, arm, and hand massage included was also lovely. I left feeling relaxed and renewed, with glowing skin. My facial was $100, which I feel is an excellent value. You also have the option to buy a package of 3 facials, lowering the individual price significantly. As someone who has worked in customer service for over 13 years I know first hand that there are times when you can't get to every phone call and there are times when you are short staffed, etc. I was trying to book something special for my best friend's 30th birthday. I found Spa Wasted on Groupon and saw the good reviews and thought it was just what I was looking for. I orginally tried calling several times during the business hours specified and couldn't get an answer so I decided to leave a message. When I didnt hear back after several business days, I had lost interest as I needed to plan something for the birthday asap. I finally got a response (surprisingly fast) after I posted my initial review on Yelp, but it was too little too late. Then a few days later I received a voicemail (confirming they got my message). I received two messages on Yelp: the first one acknowledging that there was a problem and that they were working on it, the second one was more accusatory and stated that they didn't have record of my call (even though I received a voicemail). Mind you this was all weeks later and I wrote back that I wasn't interested in the services anymore. I admire their persistence to correct themselves after they saw the Yelp review. I just wish one of the responses wasn't so accusatory when I was in the right and I had all the proof in my phone. There is no reason for me to bash a company for no good reason. In fact, almost all of my Yelp reviews are positive, I rarely come on here to complain. I realize that maybe I shouldn't have so hastily posted a negative comment, but can you blame me? I was trying to book something special for my best friends birthday and came up short. By the time they were getting back to me, I had already lost interest and decided to do something else. After trying so many products, masks, medicines, DIY skincare and everything else I could think of to get rid of my hormonal acne around my jaw and chin I made an appt for a regular facial with Carrie. She looked at my skin and advised that the facial I had chosen would be okay but if I really wanted to solve my problem an enzyme facial would be the best solution. She didn't make me feel like I needed to buy a bunch of products or that she was selling something I didn't need, I truly trust her advice and tips when it comes to skin care. I've had 4 facials with her now and from where my skin was at when I first came in to where it's at now is amazing! I had tiny bumps underneath the skin around my mouth and jaw line, along with a lot of redness and pimples that would not go away. First time going to Carrie & I don't know why I haven't found her sooner! I recently moved to L.B. & been looking for a good place for me and my Boyfriend to get our facials/microdermabrasion done monthly, & I stumbled across Spa Wasted. Boyyyy, am I so glad I did! I've been traveling quite a bit for work and the back and forth to freezing cold East Coast weather was drying out my skin. She then gave me a throughout inspection and explanation of what she noticed going on with my skin too. The microcurrent was such a unique experience! It's said to increase blood flow and collagen production to keep myself looking as youthful as ever. I love how it made my face feel and twitch all over from the electric currents. Haha Sounds weird, but I really felt like it was lifting and "wakening" up my skin cells! Definitely doing it again! She really takes her time with her clients and shows how much she cares and treats each one with the best tailored experience possible. I can't recommend her enough.
