It cost about $1100, and took a few weeks, to replace the heating element and pump. I stopped talking at any length with the technician because he had a habit of lecturing in a condescending manner. The heating element has been fine, but the pump failed about four months after installation after vibrating loudly for some time. Because it was still under warranty, it was replaced, again after a few weeks, but the new one failed the same way after 18 months (out of warranty). After watching a couple of YouTube videos I learned that replacing the pump is not difficult, so decided to do it myself. I got the best brand pump available (Balboa, used by spa manufacturers, about $350), and some O-rings locally, and it went in fairly smoothly. I found that the pump was attached with two screws (should be four) and it was still using the original 15-year-old anti-vibration pad, which was old and hard, and I replaced. I do not intend to use Albuquerque Spa Repair again.

They also sit in their truck in the driveway for about 20 minutes and then spend less than 5 minutes on the pool. The pool never really looks clean. I've tried addressing this with their office and they never return calls. Just really bad customer service. I think the guy that owns this is nice, he just has no idea how badly his family is running the actual business side of things.

After working with them last season and now the begining of this season, I am a believer. Brad replaced the pool liner. The job was done so professionally , and I would not have believed that a pool could be so beautiful. We hired them to shut down our pool last year and they were so professional, with helpful information ( we are first time pool owners and know virtually nothing). Dave took the time to make sure we understood as much as we could absorb. We hired them to open our pool up this spring. They were very understanding in explaining why they don't recommend this or that and why we should buy certain things. They even told us how to buy them on Amazon to save money ! What kind of pool company actually tells you where the deals are rather than selling them to us at a markup ? I have to replace a winter cover for this pool. I have gotten the quote for the standard replacement and the upgraded replacement. Then I checked prices all over town and was shocked at how well we are being treated by Dave & Brad. The price and quality is great. After this season I will have to replace the summer solar cover. Albuquerque pools told us how to buy the items we need from Lowes and cut it ourselves. wow. I am so grateful we followed the previous owners advice ( locals who have lived here for decades ) and hired Albuquerque Pools and Spas. ps, the reason that this company is so busy and sometimes has a hard time getting back to all the calls that come in is because they are awesome and sometimes get swamped taking care of customers.
