We wasted over 10,000 dollars with this company. Please don't waste your money with them. They never show up when they say they will, don't even call. We went weeks without anyone coming out to service our pool and spa and then when they finally did come out, they still didn't finish the job that they promised. They then demanded payment in full and said if we did not pay they were going to file a lien on our home! Their work is sloppy and unprofessional and truly they have no idea what they are doing. Very disappointed with Albuquerque Pool and Spas. Their inability to follow through on anything is extreme. Initially, they delayed our opening because of a billing system change over that dropped our appointment. No worries, system changes are major. Got another appointment scheduled just for it to be missed, again. We finally had Brad come out a few days later, got us up running. Was told he would come complete the rest of the work on the following Monday. That was over two months ago and still no sign of Brad. Multiple calls, emails, and text messages to both Brad and Tracy have gone unreturned. Then, to top it off, we have not received any invoice for the prior work. Well, we finally got it with a large "Past Due" plastered on it. Would have been great to actually see the initial bill. Maybe Brad will seem this and come finish the work we hired him to do. read more

If you had called me back when I called you and asked for a callback you would be more informed. The closing was delayed and I did not take ownership until later, so I did not have the ability to assess further until I actually owned the property. This is why inspections are done. If the equipment could not withstand 4.5 months of minimal use do you not think that should be worth noting on the inspection? read more

I have had multiple poor experiences with Brad (owner) and Connor (employee). I have given this company close to $1,000 and they have been unhelpful, rude, and never provide complete information. I paid for "pool school" to learn about my pool when moving in and many things were left out. When inquiring with Brad about why we were not given full information about the pool he said "I can't give you all the info about your pool in a 2 min convo on the phone." It seems he forgot we paid him $100 to do exactly that - teach us EVERYTHING. They told us opening the pool would be "no problem" and they would take care of/clean everything, but 3 wks after opening my pool is still green. I had to argue with Brad to get him to come out to vacuum my pool (which was a service he told us was included in the opening fee of $400) where over 40lbs of leaves and muck was removed. We only have a robot and no manual vacuum so there's no way we could have done this on our own AND THEY KNEW THAT. The solar paneling they installed on our roof broke off during a wind storm and when I called Brad, he told me it was too late on a Friday but he would have someone fix it Monday. When Connor arrived Monday, he had no material or equipment to fix my broken solar panels and told us he thought Brad was going to come with him that day but he didn't. Not sure what happened there. When Connor opened our pool, he just left without saying anything, we had to call to get instructions, which were incomplete. He told us not to clean our filters until our pool is clean, but every website online says to clean a murky pool you must clean out the filter. They also emailed us instructions for a sand filter when we have a cartridge filter and when we asked them about this Brad said "Since your Yelp review, I am done! Find someone else." They are NEVER apologetic when we have called to complain - actually the opposite. I have never been treated so badly by any other business before. Even the secretary told me "Brad isn't easy to talk to" and laughed about it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I am livid with them and my pool is still disgusting and they told me they wouldn't be surprised if it took almost 2 months to get it completely clean because it didn't have a cover. Despite them telling me 4 times during closing and over the winter that it would be no problem without a cover and they would take care of everything once it needed to be opened. These people lie, deceive, and cheat you out of money. Almost a grand in and I feel COMPLETELY ripped off. We now have to take them to small claims court because they wont even give us a partial refund despite only doing half the work. I wish we had read the numerous negative reviews about this company before using their services. In the following account I will confirm the negative review we have provided. We purchased a home in Rio Rancho in sept 2021. We paid $500 to winterize our pool in Rio Rancho in 2021 including $300 for a lightweight tarp and a water girdle to secure the tarp. We also asked for the Jacuzzi to be covered. The Jacuzzi was left uncovered. Albuquerque Pools was asked to come out and open the pool in June 2022. They claimed that a spring wind storm blew the pool cover off (a cover they were suppose to secure against this possibility. ) and damaged the water in the pool to the extent the pool would need to be drained pressure washed and acid wash. I spoke with the owner Brad in June he claimed their company had no responsibility for the failure of the pool cover, it being an act of nature. He indicated on the phone it would cost about $1200 to do these repairs and agreed to send me an estimate in writing. Something he failed to do. We decided to wait on draining the pool until our move at the end of August. We contacted Albuquerque Pools and Spas on 9-2-2022 and spoke with Mike, (the owner, Brad being out of country at that time) . He agreed to have someone come out on Sept 9th to confirm the price for the cleaning. No one showed. We called and spoke with Mike on sept 9, he acknowledged the previous call but didn't know why the it hadn't been scheduled. He agreed to have one of their guys come out and drain the pool on Monday 9-12. And come out to clean the drained pool on wed 9-14. Because we still didn't have an estimate in hand we asked several times in the call for that to be provided. Mike indicated he would send us the estimate in email on Friday or no later than Monday 9-12. On Monday their crew arrived. We mention that we had not received the estimate from Mike. They called spoke with Mike and then left. Mike called back angry insisting he had never agreed to do an estimated and Told my wife that they would not do the job. I then call and spoke with owner, Brad, he indicated he listened to a recording of the the calls with Mike and that getting an estimate was never mentioned ( in spite the the fact we mentioned repeatedly on the call on friday 9-9 . Brad said it was too hard to work with us. and Indicated they would not do any more work on the pool. The lack of accountibity and evasion of responsibility by Albuquerque Pools and Spa ownership lead me to this poor rating. read more

I had Albuquerque Pool and Spas put in a vinyl liner in 2017, which I paid almost $4800.00. The first month the drain in the bottom of the pool came out, which I can't get fixed. It makes the pool very unsafe!!! Anytime we swim in it we have to make sure the pool is not running because it can cause a child to be sucked to the bottom!!! They know how unsafe this is and yet it doesn't seem to matter. No one wants the liability of their unethical practices on them. I've called Brad so many times I've lost count. I was promised repeatedly they would come out and fix it, which never happened. Here I am two years later with a pool that leaks. I have to fill it weekly. Worst $700 ever spent!!!! Do not use this company they have the worst customer service I've ever had!! My pool was drained, power washed, and refilled in April . There was a lot of algae due to no cover on the pool. After about a week the algae was growing back and there is no flow in my pool. I had to call several times to get Brad and he always said he would call back and never would. The last time I spoke with him he said he had about 130 people in front of me. Really!! How about helping the customers who have already paid you for a service and you haven't completed it!! Why should I have to wait behind all the customers that made appointments after me. Do not use this company! They opened my pool but failed to open the valves when they turned the pump on. I had another company come out to clean the pool and the owner said I was fortunate that my whole pump did not blow up. And he was back with the repaired pump less than twenty-four hours later. He was courteous and obviously knows his stuff. I was very disappointed by the lack of service and lack of communication. We hired Abq. Pools & Spas to open our pool, fix a pump/filter issue and clean it at the beginning of the summer. They took off the cover and then left the pool disgusting and dirty. They claimed they had fixed the filter but it continued to spit out dirty/cloudy water. After weeks of trying to get a hold of them they apologized and returned to clean the pool. They proceeded to dump chemicals in that slightly improved the water color and then went radio silent. I continued to call and each time they said "oh that's on our list for this afternoon" (miraculously only on the days that they answered my phone calls). They checked it a few more times, promised to take water samples and call me back with updates on the cleaning. I have never ONCE received one of the promised phone calls to update me on the progress and continued to call and leave voicemails, never once receiving a return call. After an entire summer wasted with this company they told me that because I was frustrated they were not going to charge me but that they "just aren't able to solve our issue." We will NEVER use this company again. This company is inconsistent, does not communicate and will not follow through with promises. read more

Brad knew the details of our pool, such as who built the pool and a pretty good idea of when. He isn't out to sell us chemicals, quite the opposite, he actually focuses on a a minimalist approach to keeping our pool clean and safe. We have relied on him and his professionals ever since. KNOWN FOR TAKING MONEY AND RUNNING! CHECK GOOGLE REVIEWS AND BBB BEFORE YOU COMMIT!!! On April 20, 2017, we purchased a home with a pool. Prior to closing, on 2/28/17, we had the pool inspected by Albuquerque Pools and Spas (wish I would have done my research). Several repairs were recommended per their inspection report to include the pump, heater, a pressure relief valve, main drain covers and several tiles around the pool and spa. The seller agreed to pay for and have all recommended repairs done through Albuquerque Pools & Spas. On 4/4/17, the sellers paid Albuquerque Pools & Spas $1023.51 for all of the above parts/labor (except the tile). The invoice indicates that work could be completed for buyers (me) in the spring, when the weather warms up. Immediately following closing, we began trying to reach Albuquerque Pools & Spas to schedule the work, leaving several voice messages without a returned call. Only after calling from a different phone number was our call answered. The situation was explained and the owner agreed to have someone come and complete the work on May 9, 2017 at 8am. Nobody showed up, and only after 10am did they indicate that there was an emergency situation but that they would be there at 3pm. Again, nobody showed up and they did not return our calls. Finally, after calling from someone else's phone, they answered and agreed to come the following day. When the technician showed up the next day, he thought he was only there to "open" the pool and adjust chemicals. Therefore, he did not have the parts or information required to complete the work that had been paid for. He indicated that he would talk to his boss (the owner) and come back the following day. Since then, we have called over ten times and left several voicemails and have gotten no response. We've filed a complaint (along with several other customers of Brad's) with BBB. Read the reviews out there for Clear Reflections and ABQ Pools & Spas. Same company... all the same stories. This guys is a complete scam artist. read more

I hired Albuquerque Pools & Spas because I bought a house that used them in the past. The previous owners raved about this company and swore they were the best in town. After working with them last season and now the begining of this season, I am a believer. Brad replaced the pool liner. The job was done so professionally , and I would not have believed that a pool could be so beautiful. We hired them to shut down our pool last year and they were so professional, with helpful information ( we are first time pool owners and know virtually nothing). Dave took the time to make sure we understood as much as we could absorb. We hired them to open our pool up this spring. They were very understanding in explaining why they don't recommend this or that and why we should buy certain things. They even told us how to buy them on Amazon to save money ! What kind of pool company actually tells you where the deals are rather than selling them to us at a markup ? I have to replace a winter cover for this pool. I have gotten the quote for the standard replacement and the upgraded replacement. Then I checked prices all over town and was shocked at how well we are being treated by Dave & Brad. The price and quality is great. After this season I will have to replace the summer solar cover. Albuquerque pools told us how to buy the items we need from Lowes and cut it ourselves. wow. I am so grateful we followed the previous owners advice ( locals who have lived here for decades ) and hired Albuquerque Pools and Spas. ps, the reason that this company is so busy and sometimes has a hard time getting back to all the calls that come in is because they are awesome and sometimes get swamped taking care of customers. This company was contracted to do a pool inspection before I bought the house. The inspector, also the owner of the pool company failed to note all the missing, broken tiles along the water line. Later he promised to replace all of them...well, its been 17 months later and the owner/president himself will not answetr any of the calls or return any messages. MAJOR disappointed! I have used them for three previous summers and always found the service good and the communication clear and fair. However this year was a complete nightmare!! I asked them to open my pool and I honestly have no idea what they did. I was told they replaced my valve but they never finished the job. Hired them to replace my pool equipment pool in Placitas. Called 5 different companies, only 2 called me back and set up appointments and both showed up on time. Being a contractor myself I knew that proof of Liability insurance, workers comp & a mechanical contractors license were needed. The other company could not provide any proof that had insurance or Licensing.
