Honestly I wasn't going to leave this and was just gonna take the loss and just not return, but after thinking about it more I know I would appreciate getting a heads up as a potential customer. I actually picked this spa because it had good ratings in the area. The spa itself is very clean, well decorated, the front desk staff were friendly and my massage therapist was friendly. But the service I got I feel cheated out of my money for. I basically paid to have someone slather lotion all over my body and nothing more. There was no massage technique used, and it seemed on multiple occasions my therapist was either distracted by something or falling asleep because her hands would frequently just go still on my body for several seconds before starting up again. It was awkward and I wasn't sure if I should ask her what's going on or not, lol. Like I genuinely feel like I paid someone random and completely untrained off the street to give me a massage. I left with my hair in mats too because the scalp massage was basically just her twirling her fingers around in my hair and tangling it up. My experience was only with one massage therapist, so it's very possible that the other ones working there are great at their jobs. But I definitely want to spend money on a massage that doesn't have me considering getting up and walking out halfway through again I'm not saying don't go here but definitely proceed with caution if you're expecting formal massage technique. read more

She constantly had one hand on me holding me for no reason but to use her phone. 1 hand is only supposed to be on you when oil is being applied. I am definitely not completely satisfied with the service I received. Seeing the reviews, I thought this was going to be a great place for a massage after an entire year of not having one. The individual who did the massage was nice but I would not recommend her. While giving the massage, I thought she was falling asleep on several occasions. Instead, I notice she's reading her watch every so often and worried about it rather than the client. As a doctor, if I paused during operations to read my watch, it could be a life or death matter. I paid $180 for what was worth about $60. Where are the ethics of business owners these days? I digress as it seems people are only out for themselves or focused on them rather than serving others. Do Not Go To this DISGUSTING place! READ THIS TILL THE END- YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS! First off I specifically asked for a hot stone massage, and informed the masseuse I wanted her to focus on my lower back and hips area I"m working out and muscles are sore. Mind you, I've literally had hundreds of massages in my life, and thought I would try this place since I just relocated to the area. #1 the lady hardly did any massaging at all, she just rubbed the stones over me more than half the time. I specifically asked that she do the stones at the end, like the hundreds of Asian owned massage places I go to. She insisted on doing it her way, and did the hot stones throughout, hardly did any kneading or massaging, just pressing 1 finger in places an holding it or rubbing me with the stones. It was literally the laziest, dis-satisfying massage I've ever had in my life! Then when I told the lady at the desk how dis-satisfied I was - She totally disregarded me, and asked me "So...How Are You Paying?" The NERVE! THEN I asked to speak to a manager, she says, there would not be one till the next day! So I paid to keep from making a scene, thinking when I spoke to a manager, they would give a damn! And then.. before I left, the masseuse interrupts and asks the receptionist "WHAT DO I DO WITH THE STONES?" and the RECEPTIONIST says, "JUST RINSE THEM OFF WITH SOME WATER". The masseuse replies, "DON'T USE ANY KIND OF CLEANER or SANITIZER?" And the RECEPTIONIST replies - "NO, JUST RUN THEM UNDER SOME WATER." WTF?!!! So this lady just rubbed these stones all over my NAKED body, and you tell her NOT TO CLEAN OR SANITIZE THEM, but just rinse them off with WATER?!!! So basically you don't CLEAN THESE FREAKING STONES, so who knows who's body they were rubbed on before me. Don't tell me that the heat will kill the germs, that's not the freaking point! That is UN-SANITARY. So when I tell the manager all this today by phone, she tells me that the MASSAGE THERAPIST doesn't clean the stones, someone else does. REALLY?! Well WHO, cuz they were the only ones there, and THE GIRL RUNNING THE PLACE says, RINSE THEM UNDER WATER, and the MASSEUSE couldn't believe it herself! And the fact that she had to ask what to do with the stones, confirms she NEVER did a hot stone massage there or maybe anywhere before, which confirms why I had such a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Instead of acknowledging this, they literally offered me a $30 discount. SO here is what I say to that, 1) I will get a refund from my card company, 2)Now other ppl will know that this place is DISGUSTING, UNPROFESSIONAL & UNSANITARY, 3) You lost thousands in massage business from me, cuz I get them 2-3x a month at least due to my sciatica. Divine intervention brought me to Spa Stinny yesterday. I needed a deep tissue massage in the worst way, and not only were they able to accommodate my request, they still allowed me the full time even after being a few minutes late. The manager told me if they didn't have other clients waiting, it would be no trouble. I enjoyed the ambiance and calm the place exuded, and my stress levels were high when I got there, but I felt amazing when I left. You will hear other people if you opt to pay attention to it on a busy day, but the music is a lovely distraction from noise interference, and I loved Elizabeth's skill and dexterity as a massage therapist. I'm pretty shocked to see a one-star review for Spa Stinny, and I wouldn't let that affect your decision to visit the spa. Their prices are ridiculously low, and they don't sales push you into their membership plan. The manager was in attendance, and she was incredibly polite and professional. I'm just glad I know how to use my GPS and redirect from a major intersection blockage, because I would never presume a receptionist's customer service relies on her inability to be a navigation system. There are also at least four different back-roads options. When I went to book my appointment online, I noticed a very clear policy on cancellation fees, and were I to show up with my party over an hour late during what looks to be Valentine's rush week during couples bliss, I certainly wouldn't whine, rant and cry scam and foul. Spa Stinny is certainly no scam, but unfortunately they can't control bogus reviews from adults who lack individual accountability and the ability to take personal responsibility for their shortcomings. I've been to deluxe spas, mid-level and smaller franchises, and what Spa Stinny lacks in frills and luxury, they make up with great massages, great customer service, and excellent pricing. The management here is incredibly RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. It first started with the manager getting upset with me because I bought a GROUPON...I've told the manager that I've bought the voucher before making the appointment, and she proceeded to have a NASTY attitude towards me. He injured my boyfriend terribly to the point he had to go follow up with the DOCTOR ...he brought it to the therapist's attention numerous times that he was hurting him apply less pressure, but he applied MORE pressure anyways... MY massage therapist looked over to the room where my boyfriend multiple times... didn't even say a word and continued to work on me. My boyfriend grunts, cries, and pain could probably be heard all over the Spa, but no one stepped up to say anything. I contacted the manager the next day, telling her about my bad experience, but per usual she was RUDE she continued to tell me that I can receive 20% off my next service. I told her if my boyfriend was seriously injured by her staff then why would we come back to give her more of our money. I simply asked her if my boyfriend could do a follow-up, to make it right and fix what happened. But she continued to tell me no and proceeded to push me to come back and pay for another service...I had to contact Groupon for a reasonable solution, which is sad especially as a business... you're supposed to always take care of your customer. It was suggested I give this place a try and ask for Victor. Up until my first appointment I did not like massage and really didn't see it as more than a glorified back rub. However I remained open-minded and tried again. Thank God I did! Victor is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING‼ When I left that first massage I knew I'd be back. I have prior back injuries and many trigger points. He helped alleviate pain and stiffness and left me feeling a level of relaxation and total peace I wish I could bottle and keep. I now go twice a month and am a member. I am usually willing to give any business a chance, but when I walked in the first thing I see at the reception area is a framed poster on how much to tip, and on three levels of tipology. Excuse me but tipping is based on the quality of your experience and at that point my experience hadn't happened yet. I don't need a lesson. I am a good tipper, and have never seen such a blatant solicitation right in my face. My massage was average at best. The room was noisy. I came here for a 2 hour massage in March 2014. THE GOOD: Walking into the front door is always how I can tell if I'll like a spa. It was quiet (because no one else was there), peaceful and serene - exactly what a spa SHOULD be. The guy at the front desk was really nice and polite. The massage itself was pretty good. The masseuse didn't talk much, so that was nice. I cannot stand small talk, especially during a massage. THE BAD: I guess depending on the room you're in, you can still hear noise from the lobby and hallway and even the next room. It's annoying when you're trying to relax and all you hear is people laughing, walking by, phones ringing, etc. Would I go back? Yes. I might request a room farther in the back though.
