BLISSFUL. that is how you will leave this place. We had a few spa appointments - the signature, hot stone (solstone massage), shiatsu/swedish massage and the mudslide. My husband really enjoyed the signature and shiatsu. He was very relaxed at the end. The mudslide is more a clay detox, tub soak and peaceful nap in the gravity chairs. A must try once. The hot stone is the ultimate in relaxing as the stones are strategically placed to help alleviate aches/pains and enhancement the treatment. The therapists are professional, friendly, talented and explain what to expect. The facility is incredible .... bright, spacious, with an abundance of amenities. There are also 5 pools, infrared sauna and steam room to enjoy prior or after your treatment. It was an indulgent week as these treatments are on the high end side. However they are worth it if you are looking for a reprieve from everyday demands and a wonderful way to treat yourself to some quality self care time. When planning at stay in Calistoga, it's probably best to make a reservation for a spa if that's something you're interested in. Don't be like me, struggling to find a place on a Saturday. I was able to book a last minute couples mud bar and bath house appointment within 20 minutes from my call (fortunately we were staying 3 minutes away so I don't recommend last minute calls) as well as a couples massage. The operator was super informative and although we didn't bring bathing suits for their pool, she did suggest checking out their front room shop for available bathing suits to order. To my surprise they had sizes from xs-xl. The spa is pristine and beautiful. Everything was calming and relaxing, from the locker rooms, to the relaxing room, mud sauna, bath house, chair, to the massage. I didn't know what I was in for, but it was all worth every penny. The mud bar was interesting by being able to choose what oils we wanted and slathering it on ourselves while being able to relax in a sauna room. The outdoor shower was a great shock to the body with rinsing off the mud, but it felt wonderful. The bath house was relaxing, however I'm the type to always have my mind wander. It was nice to lay in a soaking tub as well as the zero gravity chair. The massage, wow. I believe his name was Chris but he got ALL the knots. He even was able to change up the pressure accordingly without me having to direct him. I literally slept like a baby after that spa day. I have to say, my massage and facial were 5+ stars -- AMAZING in every way. The facilities are spotless and lovely. And it would have been a completely relaxing and immersive experience....worth the nearly $800 we each spent. BUT people on their frigging cell phones in the spa all day made me want to scream. It's supposedly a no-phones spa area but that is 100% not enforced. Dude doing work calls on laptop *and* phone. 2 others watching loud videos, another one on a video call for an hour, both without earbuds. One completely narcissistic ass who had to be videoing his whole experience including jumping in pools and going into the infrared sauna (I hoped that killed his phone for a while.) WTF people ?! Is there no place free of your self-centeredness any more? Please give us back the quiet spa, the PRIVATE spa, the spa where you're present for the experience. We wanted to experience the the famous mud treatments that we heard so much about when planning our trip to Calistoga, but it was difficult finding experiences that could accommodate a group of 3 (I was going with my 2 sisters for bachelorette trip). My sister ended up finding Spa Solage and was told we could do the mud slide together, so we booked it. Upon entering, the spa is very modern, bougie - definitely looks high-end which is good since the prices are higher-end. The locker room was clean, plenty of amenities. We started with the mud slide, we met up with our technician who set us up with our pails of mud - you get to choose your essential oils - I chose the muscle soother (we went day after hiking) and my sisters chose stress relief. You then enter the mud treatment room where you slather the mud all over your bodies and let it dry before the technician tells you to rinse off. Next you proceed to the soaking tubs with bath salts followed by the sound chair where they cocoon you and the chair vibrates to the music being played in your headphones - very futuristic utopian. Note - the soaking tubs and sound chairs are both in rooms set up for 2 people so if you are in a group larger than 2, you will only be together for the mud treatment room and then have to split up felt the remainder of the experience. As for the treatment "effectiveness" - don't know if it made a difference aesthetically or physically - I think my skin felt a bit smoother/softer. Though, of course, relaxing, in general, is always good for emotional and mental health. Once you finish with the sound chairs - you're free to explore the geothermal pools. Don't be afraid to try the cool plunge pool - it truly is invigorating dipping into those frigid waters and then plunging right back into the heated 100+ degree pools. The geothermal pool areas were well-maintained and you can order drinks to be brought to you - we enjoyed a chai and a mango cocktail. My December 10 and 11 experiences with Spa Solage were net positive -- though I had some less than positive experiences with other women at the bath house. PEOPLE: The spa reception staff were friendly, attentive and informative. The bath house staff works really diligently - they keep the bath area tidy, check in with everyone for beverages and they are super respectful, responsive and professional. My massage therapist was professional, friendly and very effective. FACILITIES: LOCKER ROOM & RELAXATION AREA The locker room was clean and spacious - but with other things, I do wonder a bit about the design and user experience. The lockers are tall/narrow and two rows -- the upper row has hooks that are not reachable by someone who is 5'10" (unless I'm sticking a hanger up there). There's also a set of outdoor showers which might be great on a hot day, as well as a wet sauna in the locker room. There are blow dryers, brushes, combs and toiletries available in two spacious, mirrored vanity areas. The relaxation area outside the locker room doors was clean and stocked with snacks and drinks -- lots of light and very relaxing. FACILITIES: THE BATHS There is a pair of hot pools with jacuzzi jets, and a much larger relaxation pool. The water is super buoyant and very relaxing. I must have visited at the right time because there weren't many people in the baths most of the time I spent there over two different days. The floating was wonderful. PROBLEM CLIENTS: While my friend and I both enjoyed our (very expensive) massages -- I was looking forward to soaking in the pools / baths. Unfortunately, a group of women in the locker room were extremely rude, staring and making comments about my friend (who happens to be a transwoman) to the point that my friend did not feel comfortable staying and soaking in the baths and hastened back to her room. After my friend left - the same group of 3 black women and one Hispanic woman were engaging on a video call with a friend (in the locker room!) and having a conversation that ranged from treatments to people in the locker room. After their massages, they showed up out in the baths area with their phones out, being noisy and taking selfies. To their credit, the Spa Solage staff handled this group and I never saw them again -- not sure if they were asked to leave or if they just got them to chill out, but I was gratified that they took this complaint seriously. read more

Me and the love interest had a weekend in Calistoga and this was a highlight of the day. Right off of Silverado trail is this hotel and spa, our favorite place ever.. The first thing you'll notice is how modern, white and clean everything is. There's a nice lounge area that leads to the spacious locker rooms. Lockers, showers, changing areas and a toilet, comparable in size to your local commercial gym. We didn't get a massage this time but we did however do the mud slide that could unwind the most uptight of people lol. You start with cups of mud that you rub onto your partner covering every inch that you can. The room has heaters of some sort to relax and bake your mud suit as you lay on a center island for maximum relaxation with optional cucumber slices and a cold towel. Cold water available because releasing toxins can take a lot of energy. Then when your time is nearing they knock to give notice to wash yourself off, either inside on the wall OR on top of the island with 6 shower heads that rain down. There is also a sliding door to outside with another shower if you're into that. Then we moved to the next station which was a soaking tub with water crystals you can pour in or rub on. Did I mention they serve refreshing drinks here as well?? We both ordered their famous solage cocktail that will hold a place in my heart for years to come. It really made the relaxation experience that much better. After that we were placed in the anti gravity chairs that are basically fancy recliners on a heating blanket, with a neck pillow, warm eye compress and ridiculously soothing music. This experience would make anybody slow down and forget their worries to enjoy life in the moment. Afterwards there's an option to hop in their pool with different sections of relaxation. We didn't bring a swim suit and didn't wanna skinny dip.......this time lol, but we will definitely take part in taking a dip and a massage as well in our visits to come. I got a massage the week before Christmas. Everyone was super friendly and I love the white locker rooms. Unfortunately the ethical hopes for such an establishment were not met. I signed up for a 90 minute massage and was told it was over and to get dressed 15 minutes early. Then when I went to pay the therapist must have communicated he ended early. The receptionist told me they waived the parking fee (like15$ or something for not staying at the hotel but getting a treatment). She said she waived it because my massage was cut early. As I'm pulling out I realize my massage was over $300 for cutting it short 15 minutes it cost me $75. Why would you still charge me the full price of a massage I didn't ask to end early? I felt sucker punched! Disrespected! I wanted to let it go but I felt/feel very taken advantage of. Unable to reconcile the experience, I called a few days later to speak with management. I was told they were in a meeting and I was assured they would return my call after. No one ever called. It's now 6 weeks later and I still can't get over how violated I feel by this experience. In my head- Like who do you think you are to steal from your clients??? All in all, if you have money to burn and don't care about wasting it then this is your spot. But if you're like me and you work really hard for you money and you don't want to be ripped off, go somewhere that will respect and honor that!! read more

Although this spa was very clean and all the staff working there were nice , nobody bothered to ask how the services were or if everything is going well. The locker rooms were filled with every amenity you can imagine and the facility is well kept. I booked a 60 min massage and mud bath . After treatment I used the spa pool side . The atmosphere of the spa pool side was dampened by a frequent flyer ; this older man who is angry and badgers people for talking over a whisper . His badgering was witnessed by a Solage staff member but nothing was done about it. If it wasn't for the pool side experience I would have rated this spa much higher . It is one thing to run into rude people, it's another when it's witnessed by staff that don't stick up for you especially since this older man has done it multiple times before and can be identified . Seems like poor management ! Not worth paying so much for a not so relaxing experience at pool side . read more

So I did end up enjoying my treatment here a lot but I do feel like the wording on the spa menu is a bit misleading. I was interested in doing some sort of mud treatment but I've heard that the mud baths aren't really hygienic as one might believe. I liked the idea of having the mud applied instead. It was perfect when I saw on the website that "After an attendant assists with your mud application..." because I took that to mean that someone actually puts the mud on you. The attendant only helps you mix the mud with your choice of an essential oil and show you to the room. You put the mud on yourself. You can also book this treatment as a couples or group treatment. Instead of having a more relaxing time you can have a grown up mud fight where you slap mud on each other which is also fun but totally not what I was initially expecting. After you have the mud on, you lay down in a heated room. They also provide cucumber slices for your eyes and a cold compress that you can put on your forehead. There was also ice water in there for each of us. This first part of the treatment is about 20 minutes long. The attendant knocks to give you a heads up to shower off the mud a little bit before your time is up. At that point you shower either in the room or using their outdoor showers. The next step is a mineral baths. They had 2 bathtubs set up with bath salts infused with our choice of essential oils. You could use them as a scrub or just let them dissolve in the bath water. We had a little Goldilocks situation where my partner's tub was too small and mine was too big for me. Once the water got a little lukewarm I opted to add some more hot water which I was able to do myself. Again there was ice water available for both of us. The last part of the treatment was the rest portion. This was in another room that had 2 of their zero gravity chairs set up. They recline so that your legs are higher than your heart which is supposed to make it a little easier on your cardiovascular system. There are speakers embedded in the chair that emit vibrations from peaceful music being played. There are also headphones that you wear. The assistant helps swath you in blankets and an optional neck pillow. We were also provided with eye pillows. This was probably the most relaxing portion of the experience for me. I was very close to falling asleep and it was hard motivating myself to get out of the chair afterwards. There was a $25 fee added on for each person because we didn't stay at the resort. If you purchase a treatment you have access to their pools, sauna, and steam room as well. I felt like the pool area left a little to be desired if I compare them with other water wellness spas that I've been to. All of the pools looked like workout swimming pools and there was no signage about the temperature of the water. I do appreciate that they have poolside service for food and drinks but that only runs until 3pm. There are lockers for use and robes and slippers to borrow. They had pretty good amenities in the change rooms. There was a swimsuit dryer, all manner of hair products and accessories (although I wish there were some pins available). If you've forgotten anything before your treatment, there is a spa shop. They sell a lot of athleisure wear and bathing suits. They also have everyday wear that is on the higher end in terms of pricing. read more

My experience here was absolutely fantastic. My boyfriend and I came up on a Sunday from the Bay Area for a day of pampering. Saturday evening at 7:30PM, I called Spa Solage and they were able to get us in the next day for a couple's mudslide treatment. It was one of the most relaxing, quaint, and serene experiences I've ever had. To have done it as a couple made it even more romantic. You start by disrobing in the locker rooms and walking over to the bar where you choose your essential oils that'll be mixed with your clay. I can't imagine having done this process in swimwear - but to each his/her own. Then, you're walked over to the room in which you'll be applying the "mud." There is a platform in the middle on which you lay after having applied your mud. You shower (either inside or outside - we opted for outside because we hadn't done that before) and then you're placed into a mineral bath with a salt scrub. Whoa! My skin has never felt suppler/softer. After that, you're walked over to a room that has "zero gravity" chairs. I definitely was able to nap for a short while. After our treatment, we were able to enjoy the spa's facilities. They have 5 bodies of water! And they're warm. They offer poolside service - your food is kept hot as it is brought over from the kitchen. Might I add, the sole tacos from the restaurant are the best fish tacos I've ever had. Incredible, seriously. Everyone was very friendly, attentive, and accommodating. I am already thinking about which spa treatment I'd like to try next. The locker rooms are equipped with feminine hygiene products, q-tips, blow-dryers, a straightener, combs/brushes, ample counter space, clean showers, secure lockers, etc. As soon as I got home, I knocked out. What can I say, other than what an experience. Beautiful spa from start to finish. We came with a large group of ladies for a bachelorette party weekend. Check in was a breeze. A staff member took us on a tour of the grounds and explained how the locker room worked, what each area of the spa was, where to meet our therapists, and everything that was open to us. Cocktails were available at a bar area as well. The locker room is wonderful. It provides robes, slippers, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryers, razors, etc, and lockers that you program your own code into. Of course, there are plenty of shower and bathroom stalls. The waiting area is large, spacious, has lots of comfortable couch and lounge seating, has fruit infused water, and small snacks as you relax. It looks like something straight out of an instagram shot, very high end with bright lighting and silence as you wait in your robe and slippers for your therapist to "pick you up" before going into the massage rooms. There are at least 2 mineral pools and a jacuzzi. The one pool I went into had nice, warm water. In addition to the excellent customer service, pure pampering experience along with the gorgeous environment, the girls had found my wallet which I didn't even know I had misplaced. I was told to go to the front desk to claim it, and sure enough, there was my wallet. So a huge thank you to the staff at this spa for making our girls getaway a wonderful one. read more

Amazing massage with Elliot! Okay, so I tried to set up an appointment with Spa Solage rather last minute. Not only were they able to fit me in, but I was surprisingly given "the most requested" masseuse Elliot. When we met, I instantly knew the massage was going to be great. He has such a gentle warm soul. Well, it was a perfect massage. We had moments of laughter and a session of utter peace. It was very clear within the first five minutes of the session that he not only knew what he was doing but actually loved what he does. His passion for his art of healing people with his hands was evident with every touch. I could also tell that he engages in continued education for his craft. He knew so much more about the body as it pertains to skill set than any masseuse I've ever had. When I told him I did a lot of hand balances within my sport, he knew exactly what muscles to target. When I told him I'm a professional pianist, he knew exactly what muscles to target. When I told him that I'm a professional singer, he targeted muscles I didn't even know I had that he said would improve my vocal range when worked on. I was flabbergasted and thankful at the same time. I highly recommend a session with Elliot. You will feel at peace and very nurtured. Just don't make the mistake I made and book just a 60 minute session. You'll definitely want to be on his table (and in his ambient presence) for 90 minutes. Lovely spot for a girls day out. Indoor spacer is beautiful - the locker and changing room areas and calming and classy. My girls friends and I opted for the mud slide experience. The clay slather is a self application - messy but fun. The mineral tub soak and gravity chairs that followed were blissful. All the treatment rooms were clean and hygienic. They serve some amazing teas which help you relax and enjoy the moment. The mineral spa pools are not as fancy as they look in the pictures but still a nice experience. Such a pity they shoo you out by 6.30p.m - it will be nice later in the evening especially in summer. I can't comment on the service since I chose a DIY gig, except that it was courteous and efficient. Pricing is a tad steep for the massages but I do want to try it another time. Probably the best resort spa I've been to and one of the very best massages I've had. It's a beautiful spa, the rooms are all on the main level so no one is walking above you. Laura was incredible. I had the Shiatsu Swedish massage and would get that every time. Great pressure but so relaxing. We enjoyed the sauna and their 5 pools after (do these in order.. they have a sheet to walk you through the process).. this took us about an hour. We sipped wine while pool hopping. Ended the day with a private outdoor shower. It was a crisp 60 degrees but the sun was shining and it felt so good. Such in incredible day. If I gave one piece of advice I'd say they could be more attentive to the women's locker room. Girls are messy! Lots of overflowing baskets of robes and towels and in-turn towels everywhere. I'd still give them more than 5 stars if I could. Can't wait to return!! read more

He disrupted our relaxation time. A lot of people here were stuck up and rude, especially the women in the locker room who knocked down my stuff. The crowd had a pretentious vibe and doesn't help to have someone breathing down our neck at the pool given we paid over $500 to be here for the day. This review is for the spa only. When booking I ensured we would be able to use the amenities, both my wife and I together. Unfortunately, the steam room outside of the locker rooms was out of order, they do not have a sauna and because we were not guests staying at the resort we were not allowed to use the fitness center. So the only thing my wife and I could do together was spend time in the multiple pools. Well...after about 5 minutes in the hot bath with jets running my wife noticed something dark floating near me. It floats up to my chest, I pick it up and quickly realize it is a DEAD RAT, about 6-7" long. We jump out and alert the staff. The Area Director of the resort was standing close by, she comes over, actually let's out a brief laugh and says "unfortunately they're attracted to the warm water, perhaps you should go to the other side and enjoy one of the those pools". The other staff apologized and no one ever brought it up again. No one checked on us to ensure we were having a better time AFTER having a DEAD RAT float up onto my chest. When checking out, there was no record of any issues whatsoever. The young lady asked how my visit went and I said great, other than the rat issue. She had no clue and offered no compensation, discount, nothing for the minor inconvenience of a DEAD RAT floating onto my chest. I told her that was unacceptable. After talking with the manager, she comes back with an offer to waive the $40 fee they charge when you are not a guest on weekends. Again, I told her this was unacceptable. Helen, the same Area Director that actually laughed about the DEAD RAT that morning comes to the desk and asks what I think our compensation should be since the $40 discount was not enough. What do I think. Really? Is this how guests should be treated? Honestly I had no idea what to say, so I said $200 which is the price of one of the massages. She agreed to take an additional $200 off our bill. Not once after the initial encounter with the DEAD RAT did anyone come check on us to ensure we were having a better stay. There was no record of any incident. I'm assuming they expected us to leave and be alright paying full price and having no sort of apology given in form of discount etc. This, along with Helen's blasé attitude, makes our experience at the Spa unfortunate. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I booked my sister and her new husband massages for their honeymoon and prepaid for everything. I get a text from my sister during a meeting telling me that the receptionist said it wasn't prepaid even though she asked him to check several times and asking her to pay for everything. He was quite rude apparently. This is not the experience I had wanted for their honeymoon. When I called in to ask about the double charging I was told that she hadn't been double charged and was only charged for the food they ordered. I then get the receipt from my sister that she signed showing that she was charged for the services. I call back and am told that the other customer service woman is "working on the transaction". Okay, so basically they lied about messing up the charge and weren't going to admit it but fix it secretly? I made a last minute reservation for a couples mudslide treatment to surprise my SO and was not disappointed. From the moment we stepped foot on property we felt like royalty. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful. The facilities were extremely clean(which during COVID it was much appreciated and made me feel extremely safe). We got lockers along with a robe and slipper. The lockers seemed secure and safe. Along with the mudslide, we got access to the geothermal pools so we arrived early and enjoyed those before our appointment. The entire process during the mudslide was heavenly and we were graciously guided through the process from the staff. Never felt so relaxed in my life! It was nice to have a private romantic room for my SO and myself to enjoy and relax. *I do want to note that this mudslide treatment is not a traditional mud bath. This is more of a mud mask treatment for your body--still amazing and HIGHLY recommend!* Overall this was one of the best experiences I have had. Great way to do something other than wine tasting. It was my boyfriend's first experience at a spa and he and I truly enjoyed ourselves. We did the couple's mud, bath and zero gravity chairs. The mud room was really cool, not what we expected, but definitely enjoyed it. They mix the mud for you and then you go into the room and put the mud on yourself. What you lay on is warm and the room is warm. There are cucumbers and cold towels to put over your eyes. It was nice and relaxing. The bath was so nice and we enjoyed being in the same room to enjoy the experience. Then the zero gravity chairs with the headphones and heated neck wrap that smelled like cookies was a great way to finish the experience. We then decided to try out the different pools, and steam rooms since we were there and wanted to enjoy the whole experience. The pools were all clearly labeled, they gave us a laminated page that helped explain all the different pools and different temperatures. It wasn't too busy and we were able to enjoy all the different aspects of the spa and it was definitely worth it to have a different and fun relaxing experience. The locker room was great! This was my first time at Sol and I was excited to get a massage there. The facility is beautiful and my masseuse was AMAZING!! It was one of the best massages in awhile and I tend to get them every few months or so. The only reason why I am only giving them 3 starts is because the front desk staff was not welcoming. When I first walked in she didn't even make eye contact with me and there was no grating. She was working on the computer and told me that it will just be a minute. She did not show me around or show me where the changing room was. So when it was time for my massage I was walking along with the other patrons with my street clothes and purse. When I do go to pal D's like this and pay the amount that I did for a massage I do expect one pampered a bit. I enjoy that part and it does relax me. Everything else was very good. But they should look into getting their staff to be more welcoming. read more

The spa is taking great covid precautions. I had a massage by Charles and it was great! The massage therapists wear masks and eye goggles as well as wash their hands multiple times during the treatment. He included a mixture of stretching and muscle work. The lockers in the locker rooms are closed, the steam rooms are closed. You must keep your mask on. But everything is clean and they keep the number of people down for safety. My friend and I came here for a girls afternoon spa day and it was wonderful! We had the mudslide treatment which was great, the staff that work there are fantastic, the amenities are wonderful - it feels very luxurious. One downside is that if you aren't staying at the hotel they charge an extra $40 on top of the price of the treatment - which is pretty a 37% hike on the price...kinda excessive I think. read more

The spa area is open, airy, light and fresh. I enjoyed an intentional fragrance massage and it was so beautifully done! I was welcomed and then a knowledgeable young lady assisted me in selecting the fragrance I wanted for my massage oil. The massage itself was outstanding! Afterward I retired to the newly renovated pool area. Mineral pools, warm pools, cold plunge, it's all there. I enjoyed lunch (from Solbar) by a pool. Unfortunately there was very noisy construction going on just over the fence. Think chain saws.... I had heard the noise during my massage and, once out by the pools, I realized where the noise was coming from. Beautiful spa with steam room, relaxation room, indoor/outdoor showers, pool and jacuzzi. They had lockers and provided sandals, robes and towels. They provided combs, hairdryer. They did not provide facial moisturizers, q-tips. I get a regular massage weekly so usually when I get massages at spas they're mediocre but loved my massage here. Would return! read more

Beautiful and relaxing resort. Loved the adult spa area with various pools and baths. We traveled with another family with small kids, and it was perfect for all our needs. Overall, the place is stunning. We were treated so well, and everyone was incredibly friendly. We felt pampered here I really want to point out Chad Walker. Solage certainly has a reputation for being fancy.pants. I even heard someone say it was on their bucket list. Given that, I was a little surprised at how modest the Spa setting was. There's nothing over the top about it, but that won't get in the way of some hard core relaxation. I came up as part of "Yoga Days," which I recommend and you can find with a quick search. Apart from yoga in the wellness room, co-ed options include a gym with lots of equipment (a hard pass for me on a spa day, haha), a heated geothermal pool with cabanas and lounge chairs, overstuffed chairs in an outdoor "relaxation room," and drinks/food from the pool bar (they'll bring you food from the restaurant for a delivery fee - note the menu is pretty limited and the only veg option was a very light, but tasty, salad). On either side of the pool there are gender-specific clothing optional areas (from one day of observation, the men's side had some naked dudes, but the women's side was PG). These areas each have a smaller heated pool surrounded by lounge chairs, a small cold plunge pool (that looks like a jacuzzi, but be warned, it's about 50 degrees colder - surprise!), an outdoor shower, and a steam room. A did a quick rotation through each of these, which was plenty for me. Even in mid-December, it was warm enough to enjoy them all, at least until the sun set. These amenities are only available with 1) a spa treatment 2) a stay at the hotel or 3) Yoga Days. Given we wanted to spend more co-ed time together, we explored spa treatments. Treatments are hidden behind opaque doors on individual rooms on your walk from the pool bar to the pool. It was weird that the front desk lady didn't offer the price, even when booking. I guess they think that's taboo and you're supposed to ask? We chose the hour mudbath, but it's made up of three 15 minute treatments so I guess they include some buffer time. Mudbath is actually a bit of a misnomer, which I was happy to learn since I've heard that mudbaths at other locations are stinky and seem a bit unsanitary. At the Solage, they give you a small pail with a wet clay mixture infused with your choice of essential oil. You rub it all over yourself in the dry sauna, then after ~15 minutes shower off in the indoor or outdoor shower (at least in our case, the sauna and showers were private so you can go au naturale if that's your thing). We were then taken to another private room with side by side tubs to rehydrate with a salt scrub - the lady at the front desk said it's 15 minutes and the attendant said 10 (they should really get on the same page); since there weren't clocks I'm not sure how long it actually was. You also have the choice to get a disposable face mask for an upsell of $10 (which was made clear to me, and while it's only $10 I was disappointed that it wasn't made clear to my partner). Water, a face towel, and cucumbers for your eyes were provided at each of these steps. The final step is another ~15 minutes in "zero gravity" chairs, which is an odd name. Imagine getting in a fancy dentist chair, being swaddled, leaned way back, and then given headphones that are in sync with a pulsating chair. I thought it was sufficiently relaxing with thoughtful guidance from the attendant, but I don't think the boy was too impressed with either. The locker room is as nice as expected (hello cloth towels for drying your hands) and beyond the normal toiletry amenities, they have thoughtful touches like a hair straightener, disposable razors, swimsuit spinner/dryer, and plastic slippers. Lockers include a bathrobe and fuzzy towels abound. There are three showers (plus outdoor showers), which were plenty throughout the day until there was a mad rush after the last yoga class, and an attendant quickly mops down the showers in between use and lays down a new bathmat. There's also an additional steam room in the locker room. The Solage Spa is pretty much the epitome of treat yoself, where it's really easy to work hard at doing nothing while being waited on by extremely cordial staff. I don't know that I could spend a whole day just lounging in and by the pools, but I imagine plenty responding "hahaha, watch me." read more

One of the first spa experiences I enjoyed with my significant other and it was absolutely amazing though it didn't start off that way. I felt like the check-in process could have been slightly better, it felt completely rushed and the 'tour' was given without regard to the fact that it was our first time there and we didn't really know what was going on. Other than that, I loved how you were pretty much left alone until you actually check in for the appointment. The amenities are amazing - I wish I came about an hour or so earlier just to enjoy the spa and room. Our treatment was the solage signature mudslide, 60 minutes for $110 per person. I thoroughly enjoyed each session of the mudslide though I wish it were longer. We ordered a drink to enjoy during the 'waters' session - which was perfect before laying in the zero gravity chair. Next time I'll probably up it to the 90 minute session + spend a few extra hours there. read more

I wish they would do something like what my restaurant does (save some percentage of appointments for locals) rather than only reaching out to us when the tourist trade disappears, as it is doing now post-Glass fire. But it's still a gorgeous spot, and a great price for a few days, so I'll go get a treatment and enjoy a luncheon before all the tourists realize that Napa Valley didn't actually burn to the ground. read more
