You won't believe this. But on first night a horrible banging sound is coming from outside our cottage room. Front desk claims to have zero experience with this before. They fixed it in the morning was a plumbing issue. All in all five stars because I appreciated how they handled the issue and the hotel tub is mineral water and I loved it. The big pool is fresh and clean and it's fun to hop back and forth. Perfect temps. This hotel is cute and the people watching from the balcony rooms can't be beat!

Service - excellent! We arrived around 1pm on a Sunday and were allowed to check in early. We were in a first floor Queen room #123 . Room was comfortable but with no real natural light as the windows were frosted out. Large TV with lots of channels. Small bathroom but shower had two separate shower heads and handles! Employees were friendly and accommodating. Location is probably the best feature here right on Lincoln in the heart of downtown. Can walk to shopping, restaurants, bars and best of all next door is Robert's Tropical Table. They also have an adjacent rum bar and a sports bar however hours are limited. Another amazing feature is the large pool which is heated and the equally good sized hot tub. Take advantage of their fun cruiser bikes which are available for complimentary use for 2 hours. We toured around town and then enjoyed a light breakfast at Sarafonias. Highly recommend this comfortable and quaint hotel in the heart of downtown Calistoga! Will obviously be returning!

This cute, historic hotel is perfectly situated on the Main Street in Calistoga. It's within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and shops. For the area, it's reasonably priced and comes with a coffeehouse style breakfast in the morning.

This is the cockroach. I spoke about in my review in room 110

On 5/6/2025 my wife and I had come to the Mount View Hotel Calistoga. We stayed in room 110. The room looked nice, the tv was good and the white fluffy blankets felt nice. When we pulled back the sheets and layed down to go to sleep, my wife said the sheets made her feel itchy. At about 5 pm the next day, 5/7/2025 ,we were getting ready to go out when my wife saw and felt the Cockroach crawl on her then she jumped up and it landed on the blanket( Of which I have photos ) Staff accommodated us with a new room which didn't have Itchy sheets but my wife still didnt feel comfortable. They offered to get us a bottle of wine and something to drink to compensate plus they said they were going to refund us something for the incident (we dont drink so we did not get the bottle of wine). Two nights at this hotel was 582.90( just for reference) When I woke up and came downstairs and spoke to the attendant on staff and told him about the cockroach incident I asked what the hotel could do for me and my wife ? There was a man with a beard at the front desk who told me ,"oh, those come from the restaurants and they tend to scurry about"(in a Nonchalant manner kinda blowing me off and said the manager would be there in an hour.He said it like this happens all the time but when I looked at the Reviews online for the hotel there was no mention of cockroaches in the hotel. He blew me off like it was no big deal. For almost 300 hundred dollars a night I am appalled that this is the response I got from a staff member. The day before It was a lot more apologetic. It was a lady and a man. The staff were super accommodating, but the guy this morning acted like it was no big deal. When I spoke to the manager that morning he gave us a $100 discount for the room which didn't seem fair. I did not feel like arguing with him right then in there about it because my wife and I were trying to enjoy our vacation. It felt like a spit in the face, like my wife didn't matter. I hope the people that read this including hotel staff, learn to treat patrons of your facility with more respect. I get to go on vacation once a year. We chose this spot specifically, this was our experience.

Stayed here thinking it was a cute boutique hotel in downtown Calistoga, however, upon arriving to the hotel, and given our room key, we discovered that this was not worth the value. We had requested a queen mattress and, upon looking at the bed, it was clearly a full mattress at best. I took it upon myself to look at the tags for the sheets, and came to discover that the mattress protector was way bigger than the actual mattress itself thus proving it was not the right size for the bed. The concierge tried to convince us that the bed just looked smaller because the room is small (not wrong the room was tiny), but by that logic, if the room was small, wouldn't the bed look bigger? The mattress was completely sunken in the middle and woke up with aching backs. I would definitely not recommend this hotel, if my life dependent on it. Furthermore, looking around the room, there were serious, dents, scrapes, and poor upkeep of the room by hotel management. At best , this was a five star experience in a Third World country. -10/10

For being an Historic hotel, you can't expect it to be the Ritz Carlton. It is what it is. The staff is very hospitable & go out of their way to accommodate your needs. The young man (Kevin) that man's the front desk is amazing! Very gracious. He deserves a raise. The rooms are clean & equipped with items that you will use. Continental breakfast is delivered to your room every morning of your stay. If you are going to the spa, to get a massage. Dillion the male masseur is a "healer" and knows which areas to address. Actually everyone was very nice & accommodating. We love Calistoga & can't wait to visit here again. Kuddos to everyone that works at this hotel. You're doing an amazing job

This is an older property that has been well maintained. They have a private pool area and a thermal hot tub. This area is open 24 hrs and is quite delightful on a warm summer evening to sit under the stars. The location of this property is on Lincoln, the Main Street in town. There is a nice park area behind and a block away from the hotel that has a farmer's market on Saturday mornings. This property can also charge electric cars, including a Tesla charger (but not a super charger) The bed was super comfy, didn't hurt my back. However, if you will be staying longer than a night, I recommend renting the larger room. When they mention the "cozy" queen bedroom, that can be interpreted to mean hardly any room to walk or move around. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay with super helpful and friendly service. They also offer coffee or tea and breads delivered to your door in the morning.

A group of coworkers and I decided to ditch work for the day and set up some much-needed massages, due to the size of our party Mount View was the only Spa that would accommodate our group size. After our massages, we lounged by the pool to enjoy some cocktails and charcuterie boards. I forgot my bathing suit at home which was a bummer but I was lucky enough to find one at one of the boutique shops next door. The location is ideal in downtown Calistoga and parking was easy to find, the hotel will validate your parking if you ask. I was surprised by the interior design of the lobby/reception area, it's very modern and retro eccentric. IG worthy if you're into that kind of aesthetic. As the weather warms up we plan on visiting Mount View for more spa treatments and hopefully spend the day by the pool time permitting.

There we met Brent, his partner, who was equally as charming and funny. They were magnificent hosts throughout our stay! We only wish we had stayed on a weekend so that we could enjoy the luxurious brunch we had seen in photos. However, since we woke up on a weekday, we each received a $25 breakfast voucher to use at one of 3 local eateries. We opted for Bella Bakery on Lincoln. Thanks for the rec, Brent! Solage is nestled right on the Silverado Trail in the heart of Calistoga, and the location is unbeatable--you're basically three minutes from downtown and a short, scenic drive from St. Helena and Yountville. The property itself is stunning. It's got that modern wine-country vibe with about 100 detached studios spread across 20-plus acres. When you're sitting in one of the natural hot spring pools or hitting the cold dips at the spa, it really does feel like world-class luxury. Between the mud slides, the gravity chairs, and the fitness classes, you can easily spend your whole trip without leaving the gates. The Food: Solbar is a must. We had the seven-course New Year's Eve prix fixe with wine pairings over numerous years, and each were equally unique and incredible. It's that perfect balance of farm-to-table "health" food and total comfort dishes. For something more low-key, Picobar by the pool has some of the best Baja-style tacos I've had in NorCal. Plus, the whole place is super dog-friendly, which is a huge win for us. The Experience & Pro-Tip: Definitely book through AmEx Platinum if you can. We used the Fine Hotels + Resorts program and snagged a $300 credit, a late 4 p.m. checkout, and an automatic upgrade. I will say, even "perfect" places have their off moments. This year, despite requesting a room close to the spa months in advance (and confirming twice), they initially tucked us away at the far edge of the property. I wasn't thrilled about hiking across 22 acres in my robe and sandals! I spoke with the front desk, and the concierge actually went back and reviewed my recorded calls to verify the request. They did move us about 30 minutes later to a spot half the distance away, though it lacked the private fenced patio and fireplace of our original booking. I was too tired to keep fighting it and just wanted to get to the spa, so I settled in. Despite that hiccup, the service and the atmosphere here remain some of the best in the world. It's not cheap, but for the memories and the access to Napa's best vineyards, it's worth it every time. Can't wait to be back next year.

The room service could have been better as they missed delivery of the pre-ordered breakfast in the morning as the night shift didn't properly fill in the order request and didn't get placed, but the team quickly remedied the situation and delivered not too long after our original request time. The rooms were comfy with a good layout, but the garden out back were covered with fences and it didn't feel as freeing as Stanly Ranch's rooms where the back patio is uncovered. Everything here is nice, but this is not upscale nor a "boutique" experience as advertised. I caution against paying-up for these rooms or expecting anything resort-like. This is simply a good, clean place when staying in Calistoga, and a short walk to the downtown area. If the rates were lower with accurate advertising I would be happy to stay here. The positives were the newish steam room and sauna, both are very clean and in great shape and with quality towels available. The pool and spa were clean, and both heated by the pumped in underground hot springs which is soothing, however in need of new tile and/or an update. Plastic lounge chairs and tables are on the pool deck. The rooms were updated with decent sheets, cute bathrooms and include a balcony or patio, albeit with cheap plastic chairs. Staff was pleasant and I loved the calm vibe, but please note (like in other reviews) that you need to request a room away from the main road if you are looking for a quiet rest, otherwise you will hear some traffic. Due to the overly inflated rates I would not stay here again, but if the prices reflected the property, it could be a decent vacation in the Calistoga area.
