The space is simple and it doesn't have the amenities that a resort may offer but I will always return because I know I will get a great massage. Marcos worked out my knots and provided a firm yet relaxing massage. If you're unable to book an appt online just give him a call.

Going in: I drive 3 hours a day, twice a week, and work on my computer a ton. On top of being pregnant, I was achey everywhere. My back, my glutes, my neck, shoulders, etc. My 90 min Prenatal Massage: Incredible. I read Marcos's reviews ahead of time, so I already knew I was going to be in good hands, but I didn't expect to be even more blown away!! It was almost like as soon as he touched one spot, he knew exactly how much work needed to be done there and how tense he was. Actually, Marcos knew where I was tense more than I did, and as he worked on the rough spots, I felt myself loosen up. He used a lot of techniques that I could tell took years to build up to know how to use. Also, Marcos had a lot of knowledge on how to give a pregnancy-safe massage which made me feel really grateful to be in safe hands. I feel like a new person after this massage. It made me sad when it ended. Marcos: He was so easy to work with, really easy to book online, and most importantly made me feel comfortable and we even laughed quite a bit throughout the massage. I respect his work so much, and he doesn't seem to get tired. He has many years of experience (since 1996) and you can feel it in your body! Location: really nice location in Calistoga, near Downtown Calistoga and Indian Springs. I cannot recommend Marcos enough. I wish I lived closer so I could come more often! Thank you Marcos!!! I'll find an excuse to come back.

It has the best kind of retro, therapeutic Scooby-Doo vibes: charming, relaxing, and full of personality. A special shoutout to Jose at the front desk, who was extraordinary from start to finish. We called while we were on our way, and he gave us genuinely great customer service over the phone. When we arrived, we had the pleasure of being welcomed by Jose in person, and it was one of the best hotel-front-desk interactions I've had. He is a fantastic ambassador for this one-of-a-kind hotel. We loved the mineral baths, the holistic rooms, and the freshly made wellness drinks from the bar. Dr. Wilkinson's feels like a perfect wellness getaway with character--not overly polished or generic, but warm, memorable, and rejuvenating. We'll definitely be back again soon!

We arrived before check in time (which is 4:00). Upon arrival, they informed us that our room wasn't ready yet but we could use the pools until it was. We went ahead and were immediately impressed with all 3 pools. When we hadn't heard back by 3:45, I went back to the front desk and they checked us in. We stayed for 2 nights. Here are my pros and cons from our visit: Pros: Grounds: the grounds are nice and well kept. Pools: All three pools were clean and exactly as advertised online. The chaise lounges/seating near the pool offered ample lounging space and shade. The adult only area had a lush garden and cozy seating. They have a few pool noodles on hand but I recommend bringing your own if you enjoy using one. Staff/service: Excellent ! When we arrived and checked in, we were greeted with warmth and welcoming. I'd say that there was not one unfriendly staff member. I have to mention that Chris, in particular, was very attentive and accommodating to us and all other guests we saw interact with him. Much appreciated, especially as all Calistoga lost power which slightly displaced our plans for a few hours. Room: As soon as we walked in you could smell how clean it was. We had a courtyard view King room. We appreciated all of the special touches including the cute, retro mini fridge, the oil diffuser, and the extra large bath towels. The bed was very comfortable as well. Food/drinks: It makes it extra special to be able to order food/drinks to be delivered to you poolside. We loved that! We had two breakfasts. My favorite was the breakfast sandwich with bacon. We loved the cocktails, too. Cons: Construction noise: Indian Springs is expanding their resort which means, eventually, they will be directly across the street. The construction noise was a bit alarming when we were vacationing and wanting to sleep in. Luckily I brought ear plugs so it didn't bother me too much. It didn't take away much from our trip and I'm hopeful it actually boosts this wonderful establishment in the future. Day use guests: this may be nitpicking but it upset me enough to mention it. My husband was using a chaise lounge with an umbrella next to it. A couple showed up and proceeded to take the umbrella from where he was seated and moving it to their spot. When my husband explained that he was using it, they replied that they had "paid for it" and continued to move it away from our spot. They ended up being moved to another "reserved" spot and they did the same thing to another couple. The lack of social etiquette was unfortunate. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay here and will return. *Another side note is that they are a dog friendly hotel (we have a dog but didn't bring him in this trip).

The husband and wife team were incredibly nice, and the facility is in the old train depot. The environment was relaxing with dim lighting, calming music and relaxing scents. The massages were excellent. Before and after massaging each section of your body, they use heated towels. I wished I could have wrapped myself in one of the towels and taken a nap! They continually check in about how the pressure is and if something feels tender. We left feeling very relaxed and pampered. Overall, it was a wonderful treat, and the most affordable couples massage in Calistoga. I will definitely schedule another session the next time I'm back!

We upgraded to deep tissue massages, which cost an additional $40, however, only one of the massages (given by Moris) seemed to have deep tissue work. The other massage (given by Sandra) had a lighter touch. They used scented hot towels during the massages, which was very nice. As someone who has gotten a fair number of massages, I would say it's better than some massages I've received at fancy spas where the touch was too light (I'm looking at you, Kabuki Spa). But it was an average experience.

We stayed in one of the soaking rooms and it was wonderful. We were provided with towels and salts to use specifically for the soaking tub. The tub was conveniently located in the main room with a view of the large screen TV which also could be pulled out from the wall and angled towards the tub and bed. We were a little confused about how the tv worked since it seemed that other guests were signed in to the streaming platforms, but that was likely user error. Perhaps a little note about logging in to streaming services next to the TV might be useful for others in the future. We were also able to access live channels. The room was clean, and had a microwave and mini fridge for our leftovers after eating out or for small grocery items from CalMart. The location is great and a short walk to downtown Calistoga. We were provided with robes at check in which were useful for the hot tubs and pools. There are two mineral water hot tubs of different temperatures and one large mineral pool for swimming. There are showers and changing rooms available in the pool area as well. They provided bicycles and helmets that we could take to ride during the desk hours. We would definitely stay here again.

We arrived in Calistoga and checked into the hotel and spa. While a few of us checked in for our massages, my daughter and partner checked into our room. The massages were wonderful, we were very relaxed and went back to the room to change to swimwear. Note: The flavored waters near the spa are delicious, try them all. Our room was a really nice renovated King Suite, that also has a Queen bedroom attached. A little kitchen area, fridge sink and table, then the restroom area with added storage and seating. The pool is amazing, the water is so fresh and relaxing. The two hot tubs are heated to separate temperatures, it was just so nice to spend time going there. I found the early morning swim to be the best way to start my day. On my departure day, I decided to try a mud-bath treatment with my sister and although it was not my first time, I realized that mud baths are just not my thing. Staff was great, the spa was fantastic, hotel and pool were so relaxing. I would definitely book another weekend at the Golden Haven and recommend you treat yourself too.
