I can't thank Cindy enough for her help. Our spa heater stopped working recently and I just assumed we would need a new one. I called Spa Service Center and Cindy walked me through some basic troubleshooting that led me to confirm that the issue was only a filter replacement. While I was at the store she confirmed for me that I was using the appropriate products for basic upkeep of the water and even gave me some advice on what product to buy the next time I change the water. A day later my Spa developed another issue, unrelated to the previous one. Greg called my back immediately walked me through several possible fixes, and got me up and running again. An update to my review...hadn't heard from anyone from this shop, good, bad or indifferent. So, I filed a case with Small Claims Court and had him served on 7/16. The soonest date for the hearing is not until Sept 3rd. I hadn't heard any response from them so I made the call to him on Monday, 7/21, offering to remove the review that apparently is a major thorn in his side. The man actually had the nerve to offer me $1500!! Wow! Of course the answer is NOT. Andrea wanted me to give him a day to think about it. I said I would give him to the end of that day. When she called back his last offer was $1800!! How in the WORLD would anyone think that I would except anything less than the $2200 I paid in the first place?! Seeing all that I've been put through trying to get this obviously damaged hot tub to work properly. Thinking I should go back and refile for interest on my money at the very least. His business card says...Fast & Friendly and his son, Michael's says...Keeping you in hot water...sounds like false advertisement too! read more

I use to buy my supplies from this store, i tough they have good prices, i needed a service for my hot tub, They gave me and estimate of 250 dollars to repair it, they star fixing it in September 2016 the bill add up to $1,600.00 now is April 2017 they could not fix it, i filled a dispute with my credit card company, when the owner Dennis found out, he send his workers when he new nobody was home to remove parts of the hot tub, i called the police filled a report and im taking this criminal to court, be care full he has a gang working for him, they go to your house when they know is alone,, read more

I had some issues with my spa after all that bad weather. I decided to use a local repair service. I had a very good experience. Haris was very friendly and professional. The parts needed were available in the near by shop and the issue was fixed same day. A different leaking issue arose and he was back in no time to get this fixed. I had it serviced several times and water changed several times from them... they are more expensive than most and do an okay job. They are inconsistent in their timing and always poor communication. Bought a used spa from Dennis that he had in a shed behind the shop. Once you understand that he has all his spa knowledge in his head and is willing to share it with you, and you are willing to listen, then you are ready to communicate with him. He promised a top of the line used tub for about half retail. He delivered it while I was on business trip, so I came home and it was installed and operating. He followed up by calling and sending his guys who gave us a free box of maintenance chemicals and showed us how to use them. He spoke to the electrician for us. He checked the deck for us. He made sure everything worked including the built in stereo (which I hadn't expected to work) gave us a choice of steps and a new cover after we picked the color. He also replaced all the pillows without us asking. Be patient and listen and he will get you a great deal on a really expensive tub. First time tub for my family and we are really happy. They lack customer service. It is as if they either do not need me as a customer or don't care. They came out to my property to investigate the failure stating that " we will call you next week with a follow up on parts". Next week rolled by and nothing, so I called and was told that they needed to send someone else with more "expertise" on the matter. Fine. The day after it arrived I noticed a tear in it and they apologized and immediately ordered a new one which arrived less than a week later. The service is first rate and their prices are great. Extremely happy with the gently-used spa we recently purchased from Spa Service Center. We didn't want to own a spa forever, so we went the previously-owned route. Very happy with the entire experience. Dennis Podvin is a local resident, father of a Mira Costa graduates. So you can feel good about supporting a local entrepreneur. Andrea--at the store--and Dennis make everything easy. They have many models on the lot to choose from; they talked us through the pros and cons of size, features, bells & whistles, annual cost of electricity and water, how to maintain the chemicals, Dennis came to our home and gave helpful advice about where to situate the hot tub to maximize viewing and in/out access. They also made payment and delivery fast and easy. The electrician recommended by SSC for the power work was fantastic; so neat and clean in our yard, that we almost coulldn't tell that he was there, despite an 80' trench through the grass. And the family fun we've had since install has been wonderful! All 5 of us chatting and enjoying time together (without electronic devices!). Our children's friends are also having fun coming over and enjoying a soak. The water in the spa barely evaporates over time (since we keep it covered), so our water usage is far less than anticipated. Terrible customer service! They have horrible phone skills and even worse communication. I was told a $125 service fee would apply towards future work and then was billed $115 more. When I questioned it, they ran in circles trying to justify it. The $125 basically ended up applying to absolutely nothing. That's dishonest. I had clearly explained what was wrong, what access was going to be like and the such. They tried to claim the $125 is to "evaluate" the job to see if they needed a ladder or if access was hard. I explained before they came out that the tub was on the 2nd floor in a master bedroom and that the access panel was easily accessible. The guy walked up the stairs of the house, into the master bath, opened the panel (on front side of tub) figured out we needed to order a button and was out of there in less than 15 mins. Apparently, that's worth $125. They did NOT apply a single dime to the work that was done and instead handed me a new bill. When I discussed it on the phone, it took three calls to have a somewhat intelligible conversation, at the end of which they finally agreed that they weren't clear about what they said but did nothing to correct it. They're terrible. The second attempt to talk to them about it was met with the comment that "I'm too busy to talk right now, call me back." Unreal. Way to run a business folks! read more

I have a very old spa and finding the filter to the spa was impossible until I found the spa service center. I was shocked when they said they had one in stock! When I refilled my spa and went to turn it on, the jets weren't working. I called Andrea and instead of charging me a service fee and sending out a technician, she found an old manual and walked me through the solution over the phone. That is great customer service! I had used Spa Service Center before for a replacement seal on my spa pump and they were fine. Now I had a error code pointing to my pressure switch and Michael came out (my first experience with Michael). He changed the connector and that worked for two days. Then when I finally got him to return a call and then finally got him back out he told me it was the circuit board. I believed him and let him talk me into a complete change of the electronics as he said it was only ~$200 more than just getting the circuit board. I also was going to let him rebuild the spa cabinet as I had damage. The initial estimate was ~$1,200 for both repairs. But when he could not commit to a time to actually do the repair and then when he called to finally set the time the estimate doubled. I called off the work. I had someone else come out and for less than $200 they replaced just the pressure switch (vs. the $650, then over $1,000 in the revised estimate for that part of the work) and I am back up and running. Bought a spa from them a few years ago. Great communication. Great price. Delivery and install went perfectly. Just had a hose come loose and spring a leak. Called to schedule repair. As an option, they asked me to send them photo of the broken piece. They then gave me excellent instructions on how to fix it and where to buy the part myself. I was able to do the repair in 20 minutes and save a couple hundred dollars. That's great customer service that you just don't find much anymore. Customer for life! read more

I had a terrible experience with Spa Service Center. I specifically requested my first appointment to be when I was present. I learned days later that the technician came while I was away and entered my backyard without permission or warning. The spa was in complete disrepair and needed extensive maintenance. I needed guidance on what needed to be repaired not a bill for monthly service. Because of the issues with the spa, the service was rendered ineffective. After discussion with Dennis, he made things right by not charging me for the service. So, I went ahead and scheduled the assessment. I wanted a quote before work was done. Instead of receiving a quote, the technician promptly removed 3 jets and all 4 head rests rendering my jacuzzi unusable until I had work done. I was then quoted an amount I could not afford to repair the work. After confronting them with this issue, they returned the jets and pillows in a box. In a box. That did not help me at all. I told them I would have to wait until I saved some money to do the repair work. Today, I hear a noise and find the technician in my back yard doing "monthly service". This was not at my request or permission. I promptly sent him away. I called the office to express my displeasure and concern. Andrea audibly laughed when I went through the details. Suffice it to say, I was offended. I do not trust this company and feel very uncomfortable with this work practice. I will not use them again. read more
