The glittery lilac gel polish I received on Friday really compliments my March spring colors. Candy was very nice did a good job.

So I came here last Friday because the reviews were pretty decent and I've been looking for a new nail spot. I walk in and my first thought is wow this place is really nice, clean, organized, and spacious. Told the receptionist I was there for a pedicure and dip full set. She seats me in the spa chair and I wait about ten minutes for the guy to come over to start my pedi. I'm asked to select which pedicure service I want. I was slightly surprised to see that the price of the most basic pedi was $30. I thought it was a bit pricey as I've paid no more then 20-25 for a basic pedicure. Ok what's five more dollars? It must be a pretty good 'basic' pedi. It takes the guy all of 15mins tops to do it. Umm ok? When I pay less than 30, I get a 6 minute foot massage and it usually takes them about 30-40mins. Ok whatever. Get moved to a chair to start my nails. He gets my nails ready to soak off my old dip and says he's hungry and he'll be back in a few. No problem! He comes back reeking of cigarette smoke. Um gross. Can't stand the smell but whatever. He starts my nails and everything is going fine until he gets to the dipping. It only does three coats of the dip which I'm used to them doing four. He goes to drill and low and behold the powder starts to shred away. He goes 'ohh I'll have to do another coat.' Great. Already been here for an hour and half at this point. He goes to do the fourth coat and ends up using the wrong base coat for the dip which ruins my left hand of nails. When he realizes this, he gets frustrated and called over another worker there and talk in their language about what he did wrong for about 5mins. She tells me she's gonna take over while he goes to 'eat.' By this point it's been almost two hours. Ok now I'm getting irritated. I'm hungry, it's a Friday night, I've never spent this long in a nail shop before. She sits down to finish me up. She gets the fourth coat done and he comes back to take over and he reeks again like cigarette smoke. Needless to say, I spent literally 2.5hrs just in the chair on my nails. I have NEVER spent that long on my nails before. And then the receipt when I go to pay has the audacity to suggest a $12 tip on a $90 bill. For what? Wasting my time and getting a headache from the smell of cigarette smoke? Please.. read more

I've gone to this place a few times now. The work is okay at best and the service is always super slow. On my most recent visit, I sat in the waiting area for fifteen minutes. After that, the receptionist took me to the station I'd be helped at. When I sat at the station, there was no nail tech there. I sit there for fifteen more minutes without any sort of indication of what's going on and where my tech is. I'm visibly annoyed when the tech at the station in front of me comes over and tells me to go pick out my nail polish color. Turns out, this woman is my tech and she's been working on another customer the entire time I've been told to wait at her station for her. So I pick out my color, thinking this means she's about to begin my nails. Nope. I sit there for another ten minutes before she actually begins my service. It was pretty obvious they were just trying to keep me from walking out and would speak to me only when it was clear I was getting irritated. Once she begins doing my nails, the receptionist's shift ends and my nail tech had to cover the register WHILE doing my fill in. So she had to keep getting up to ring people up in the middle of my service. Also, she had hardly any tools at her station so she had to keep rummaging through other stations to find things. My fill in took around two hours and it cost me $48, which is a ridiculous price for a basic fill in. read more

Getting my toes done was fine, but when the polish messed up she didn't fix it. When I got acrylics 2 of my nails aren't straight and the top of the nail isn't all the way polished. Doing a design that I asked for she messed up the first time and fixed it but didn't fix it the second time. The lady was nice. read more

I rarely right reviews but feel I needed to for this nail salon. First impression is it is new and very clean. The receptionist was very nice... the nail techs are not. The tech I had spent more time scooting her chair over to talk to the tech next to her. Since she wasn't facing me directly she kept insisting I keep my body turned toward her. She repositioned my legs at least 4 times and acted like she was annoyed with me. When she finished with my pedicure she stood up picked up my sandals and handed them to me and walked away. Spa One Salon, a new salon in the Dunkirk Maryland, perhaps growing in customer care. It's clean and has wonderful young receptionists. I can't say that for nail technicians. Technicians are mediocre at best. The manager is by far the best technician there. Other technicians seem to lack training or just do not care about customer satisfaction. They are preoccupied with personal matters among themselves and could care less about "paying customers ". After my first visit for gel manicure & pedicure, I wasn't pleased and was back within 6 days for re-do, because polish had chipped and cuticles were torn. The salon obliged. My third visit for another mani -pedi was unsatisfactory, especially the pedi. The young man who serviced the pedi didn't speak, or ask my choice if pedi. In addition, he reached up to the masage chair to change or turn the massage dial "without consulting me." I interrupted him to asked what was he doing- I said "I like the current setting" he complied. Desperate customer service training is needed as well as technical nail care. Lease read more

90% of the time I have been to this nail salon I have left unhappy. With both acrylic and the dip powder, my nails have either been thick and uneven, not filed into a symmetrical shape, or grinded down paper thin. I will not be coming back here especially for their prices being so high. read more

Hmm...ok. i'm looking for a place closer and i'm 'auditioning' different techs. I have ten fingers so that's ten auditions. Initial impression of this place...clean, attractive fixtures, competitive prices, complimentary beverages...but a little rude and the wait as a walk in to have ONE nail done was 15 minutes. After a "go sit down" and 20 minute wait, I left. Thanks for the coffee though. read more

I am not sure if I would go back to this nail salon. I have only been there once, but during my pedicure, I was cut TWICE and was actually bleeding. I was swollen for a few days afterward. I also got the hot rocks pedicure option, and the rocks were so hot that I got burned. The person giving me my pedicure dropped the rocks very loudly at one point because they were so hot. I should have requested some kind of refund because this option cost $75 plus tip. I'm disappointed because the people seemed nice and the establishment was clean, but the service I got made me less relaxed than when I came in. read more

I have tried to go to this location several times. They do a good job with pedicures, but they are not a good place to get SNS dipping powder manicures. They use lesser grade dipping powder and argued with me when I told them I only wanted to use SNS brand. The process of dipping powder does not include the gel manicure lights. Yet they try to speed up the process by putting a gel top coat on. I get dipping powder a lot. They don't do it right. And it costs the same as a good salon. Go somewhere else if dipping powder manicures are your thing. read more

I went today at 6:30 to get my dip removed & a basic manicure with no polish & did not leave until after 8:00. I didn't even get lotion rubbed on my hands. The poor girl next to me had at least 3 people work in her nails for over an hour & they still were not what she asked for. Her mother was not happy. The lady next to her was there before me & she was still there when I left. There was even an argument between employees & this poor lady. I have been here twice now & will not be back. The first time the tech took at least 4 smoke breaks during my pedicure & my foot & leg massage was awful. He also took forever. I only went today because it is close to my house & I just wanted my dip removed. I thought in and out in under an hour. They seem to be unorganized & not everyone knows how to do all the services. It's a shame because it is a very nice salon but who has 2 hours on a weeknight for nails. read more
