I was very stressed and certain that none of the best artists would still have availability for my Saturday wedding, but Cara came in to save the day! She got me in just a few days later for a trial and I was thrilled with how I looked on trial day. I was equally thrilled with how my hair and makeup looked on wedding day and moreover, the cool, calm, and kind vibes that they brought. I was worried about my oily skin causing chaos on wedding day, but the makeup didn't budge until it was time to remove it at the end of the night. I would highly recommend Cara, especially if you're looking for a more natural look.

Cara was recommended to me by my wedding planner - and as soon as I saw photos of Cara's work with previous brides.....I just knew right away that she was exactly the person that I was looking for!! The photos of Cara's work really speak for themselves - she is truly talented and amazing at what she does, and she also loves what she does! She pays very close attention to details and really works with you in order to make your wedding day hair/makeup vision a reality! Cara travelled to our remote venue in Big Sur to do on-site hair and makeup for myself (the bride), as well as the mothers of the bride/groom, and two of my best friends. She was very flexible and accommodating of our early morning start (since we were doing a first look and wedding photos prior to the ceremony) and she made sure everyone's hair and make-up was pristine and done on time! Spending the wedding morning with her was such pleasure for myself and everyone! Cara is such a sweet, caring and positive person - it was so easy to chat and joke around with her. The entire day started off on a positive note with Cara's presence and that positivity continued on through the rest of the day. Cara truly made me feel like the most beautiful person in the world on my wedding day! She is someone you can depend on and I would 10000% recommend Cara to any brides in the Monterey/Carmel and Big Sur area!

My massage by Liz was amazing. She is who you want to book for deep tissue. Sadly, she cut the massage short by like 5-6 minutes so that was a bummer since the massage price also includes the 23% tip! That can be negotiated at request but I chose not to, just sucks that I was in the locker room before the 50 minutes was even up with still time to go. The pool was glorious and clean. I recommend getting there early to grab a comfy chair by the pool. They offer a food and beverage menu at the pool with pool service and delivery service but it's a whopping $9.00 on top of your food/drink to be delivered. I opted for both pool service and walking to the restaurant myself to make an order since it's just a few minute walk away on site. There were a couple of kids there towards the end but it was really nice not having them for the entirety as it's definitely more of an adult crowd who wants to relax vs bring your whole family to the pool- at least the day I went. I would go again for the day pass but would probably pass on the massage just because it's soo pricy.

I didn't have a "negative" service at this salon but it was "mediocre" at best, especially for the…read morecost. This salon is easily $100-$125 more expensive just because of the area it's in, keep that in mind. Overall, I would give my hair a 6 out of 10 and my experience a 4 out of 10. I got a partial "balayage" and hair cut, and at this point I know that some salons don't do actual hair painting, it's basically sporadically placed color, and while the color itself is fine, I don't anticipate this growing out as well as it has other times I've gotten my hair done - I can tell because I've been getting my hair done for 20+ years at this point so that's a little unfortunate. But aside from this, I would have appreciated if she let me know she was charging me for more color - other salons haven't done this as often, but they do let me know when they do. Even with full "balayage" at other places, I haven't always been charged for more color so this was unexpected. Even if she just gave me a heads up though, I would have appreciated it. The haircut was very basic and simple even though I asked for long layers. The blow dry was also "okay" - I ended up going home and adding more volume into it myself. Most importantly though - the stylist was not engaging at all. I'm a new customer, she didn't ask anything about me. Made no effort to put in conversation with me. It is so unlike any experience I've had at a hair salon. I even asked her questions to get the ball rolling and there was barely anything back. 3-4 hours in a salon chair is a long time for such lack of conversation, it's very disappointing. Like I said - my experience wasn't "bad" or "horrible" but I am not going back and I would not recommend the salon.

I mentioned I was getting ready for a special occasion and there was basically no conversation, energy, or effort to make the experience feel enjoyable or personalized. The styling itself also felt underwhelming. I was told my hair probably wouldn't hold, and only a very light amount of hairspray/product was used. Unfortunately, I left feeling like I could have achieved the same result at home myself. At this price point, I expected more attention to detail, warmth, and overall service.

The products are light and effective. She's gentle and gives a great upper body massage. For full body massage, my personal favorite is CC, but honestly, I've tried several different therapists and it's always been very good. The salon keeps the prices reasonable and I love this because it gives me room to tip the therapists really well. It's really a win-win for everyone. Last I have to talk about the owner, who is probably one of the nicest people I've ever met. She works really hard to meet the needs of everyone and if you're ever not satisfied, she will rectify it immediately. We are so lucky to have this business in town.

I also wasn't even the recipient of the massage -- I had bought a gift certificate to Tatiana's Massage for a family member. Nevertheless I was reminded of my bad experience and am annoyed enough from getting spam texts to finally leave this review. My family member told me the massage was really weird, and they were almost certain that Tatiana was texting on her phone throughout a large portion of it. They said they thought they were going crazy because what massage therapist has the audacity to do that, but they were face down or otherwise couldn't see to confirm during the massage. They just repeatedly felt her attention drift away from the massage as she kept shifting to only using one hand. Then, after the massage, they were exchanging pleasantries before my family member left, and they said she seemed to get a notification on her phone and pulled it out from her apron to look at it DURING their exit conversation. They said that confirmed it that she must have been texting during the massage and they were not in fact imagining it. Tatiana seemed nice during my brief interaction with her when I was purchasing the gift card, but based on my family member's experience I would not recommend this service. It seems her practice has grown and there are other massage therapists working for her now. So maybe they won't be on their phones if you book with them, but as the owner she lacks integrity. There are tons of other great massage therapists in the area who actually deserve your business.
