Was there yesterday for our second time this week / let's start with the parking the small lot is always full you can park across the street ( don't get run over trying to cross it !) Or get driven from another lot / nice driver and friendly 5 stars for them ) Last night we park in the lot and seen another car hit a white suv and drive away told the attendant he said to bad for them ? /the pool area was very loud / lots of hair in the pool floating around and nobody to tell them to speak in lower voice ! I mentioned it to the attendants a few time they did not do nothing about it ! If you look up in the dressing room very bad / black mold and water leak looks like been there for awhile, otherwise nice place but no direction ( was looking for the infrared room for awhile very well hidden) also the stairs are very dangerous my wife trip on a few of them uneven rocks stairs) Nice on the website picture not that clean once you get there ! Wow! Where has Spa le Finlandais been all my life? Arrived here on a Sunday when they opened at 9am. There were very few patrons and the place was ripe for exploring. Every corner brings another opportunity to find your ideal zen: lying, sitting or standing. Cold, cool, warm or hot. Fire or water. Quite and calm or full sensory. I was absolutely shocked at the number of areas. Each time I thought I'd found my "ideal," I found another I liked even more. It was very peaceful and, for the most part, other patrons respected the "speak quietly" signs across the spa. I received a massage (it was less than ideal and I'll purchase the day pass instead, next time--hence the one star deduction). To check in for the massage, you simply go to the waiting area and wait for your name to be called. No check in, but make sure to arrive early to complete your health questionnaire! When I finished the massage, I enjoyed lunch in the bistro, reasonably priced, though they weren't particularly friendly at the counter, and then reclaimed my zen on a hammock overlooking the river. By this time it had become significantly busier but there was still plenty of room and seating available. A few tips: --$10 gets you robe and towel rental. You can bring your own and avoid the charge --bring flip flops or slider shoes --showers are available, but you'll want to bring your own shampoo and a rag --you receive a bracelet that opens and locks your locker, so feel free to bring that backpack! --the bistro isn't the only place for food or drink... smaller bites and drinks are available from the food trailer near the River --robes in the bistro are acceptable! Enjoy!

After a stressful week my sister decided to treat us both and take us to the spa. When we arrived there was plenty of parking for both the spa and hotel portion of the location. When arriving you get to the front desk checking and choose your package we opted for the access to the spas and pools which gave us unlimited access until 11pm and we paid extra for the rental of a towel and robe. Afterwards we moved downstairs to the included lockers and changing rooms. After getting changed we had many options for pools baths and saunas and plenty of tea to stay hydrated and staff was always friendly. This is one of the nicer spas I've been to and recommend everyone gives it a go

Don't bother going here, the customer service is crap and the spa is so full of people which doesn't allow you to relax. The receptionist have attitude and don't explain a thing about the resort. They need to learn a thing or two from the customer service at other spas. You have to fight for a spot in the sauna, baths and steam rooms. It's ridiculous how packed it is. We had a Swedish massage and that was the only relaxing moment. We went here because it's close to home but never again!

My wife and I spent from the time we could check in for the day (which was noon) til our massage at 7pm, enjoying everything this spa has to offer. I highly recommend getting a day pass and doing all the activities. Great place in the winter and I want to come back and check it out in the other months. Free towel and robe exchanges if you're staying at the hotel. Great food at the bistro. The place is busy over the weekend so make sure you're prepared for that. I found 2pm to 6pm to be the busiest time of day.

I'm here all the way from Katy, Texas. My bestie took me here for the first time and I'm loving it. It's like heaven here. This place is beautiful, and so peaceful. From the moment you check in they makes sure you here to relax, and forget how stressful life is. They have so many different sauna rooms, hot/cold spa, and different relaxing rooms . This lady name Nicole was very sweet and helpful. She took us for a tour and makes sure we're familiar with the place. This is a nice weekend getaway. If you in the area, make sure to at least go once or twice a month.

I love this spa, I really think it's my favorite one! All areas are close by, which makes it very cozy. Also, in the winter you don't have to risk freezing to death while walking from one end to another, like at some spas. Finlandais offers so many different areas, and all are fantastic! Oh also the food is great. I got a tomato bisque, an Italian pizza, a sweet and salty cake, and a chocolate bomb. Every single item was BOMB!! I couldn't take pictures of the food because I didn't have my phone on me.

I had an amazing time here, and coming from a place that doesn't have many spa experiences at all, this opened my eyes to all different kinds of relaxation experiences! This place was filled with so many saunas and pools and activities, I actually regretted only getting the half day pass. It's definitely worth it to spend the whole day here. Food was very good for spa food and very French focused. The blueberry pastry was a highlight for me! And the soup was absolutely delicious. I do wish the locker room area was as nice as the rest of the facilities but this spa experience was truly one of a kind. read more
I'm not really a spa person but I had a great time doing thermal experience! It was fun to explore all the different rooms and pools. It was a bit of a surprise to see what each door would unfold! I didn't stay the full four hours of my reservation- 3 was plenty for me but I could see how others might spend all day here. My favorite area was the Russian sauna and cold pool with my favorite relaxing place being the Himalayan salt room. read more

Extrêmement décevant et inacceptable. read more

In catching up and reviewing my favorite places I have been over my years of travel, this spa has been the most memorable! This was my first time experiencing a day spa and I was completely blown away. Our group of 6 scheduled 3 sets of couples massages mid day and planed on utilizing the facility before and after our massages. Since we were new to the different types and saunas, baths, and relaxation areas we followed the posted recommendations to get the best experience and we left completely relaxed people! I have yet to find a spa anything like this location and look forward to patronizing this location again once my future travel allows for mommy get aways! read more

This is definitely one of the nicer spas around Montréal! It's a lovely place that offers many options for pools and saunas. Each of them are also a bit different so it's fun to try them all out during your stay. There is free tea that is offered as well. It can get a little crowded during prime hours, so it is best to come early so that you can enjoy all the facilities. You can rent a bathrobe, towel and slippers, but you can also bring your own. A great experience to do if you're around! read more

On Monday 22 may 2023 I was in Spa Finlandais between 12 pm and 2 pm. 3 women with head cover and full clothes and head covers were swimming in the baths, which is against the rules of Spa Finlandais. I informed the customer service/ security agent... first they went to check the women, they they told me: this is a burkini and it's acceptable. It was NOT a burkini, it was a traditional clothes with a folkloric pattern used in specific ethnic/ religious group in middle east/ north africa. Obviously the customer service of the spa did not want to bother the women and lose clients, but what happened is that my friend with whom I came to the spa and I got disgusted from this behaviour: allowing people to swim in full clothes, and being rude to me for simply highlighting that these women are not following the spa's rule. This is a photo of one of them from the back to respect their privacy. This is NOT a burkini, this is a traditional women's dress..: I'm sure if the spa checks the surveillance video they can confirm that it's not a burkini, and this is not hygienic to swim in, and it's against the spa's rules. This negative review will be shared. read more
Decided to come here with the husband as they were having a week special on Massages (89$ on any massage service with a free day pass at the spa) almost half off their regular price which was a super great deal ! Atmosphere is wonderful ! They did some major renovations and built a whole new pavilion to the right side of the spa. It was pretty cool to see the rebirth of Spa Finlandais after another tragic fire accident lol ! As they added a lot of new thermal baths ( the Japanese sauna was my favourite) it has infrared lights that help the skin rejuvenate while you lounge in the heated sauna pretty cool and super relaxing. They added the Hammam wet sauna pretty cool too! The Salt sauna and other facilities were added from eastern cultures. The thing I found pretty annoying and it's always been this way for years is their service.. tons of new employees who are not properly trained and tell you things before they understand the policy... as I was booking my massage, the guy told me the special was only for the sweedish massage but as I opened up my email I literally had to read it to him to say : "ugh it says any massages and had all of their massages listed at the bottom of their email.. " he was pretty arrogant and told me to wait on hold and then finally he said oups ya sorry my bad .. I mean common it's not rocket science. Driving in was a pain as the jockey outside was asking us to park on the other side and clearly had spots available right in front of the spa and I pointed it out to him and again oups my bad yes... After leaving the spa, and returning our bracelets the girl was super rude and told me I am suppose to leave the bracelets on the other counter and she was giving me major attitude like eyy Next time you have to leave it at that counter Wooow .. lady I don't think I even want to come next time with such poor attitude and management problems.. service is quite bad and it's been a problem for years otherwise the massage and facilities are great clean and very soothing and if you want to relax and try to avoid the people at the front desk do so as much as you can because it's quite a pain to be told things as if we were children.. otherwise I tried to enjoy my time and relaxation. read more

I've been to several spas within and around Montreal and this is by far my favourite one. You get your bang for your buck and can make it into a half day/day outing with your partner or friends. If you book a massage the water bathes are included, definitely worth it. Take your own bath robes, towels and slippers if you can so you can avoid renting and indulge in a glass of wine by the fireplace instead. The bistro is reasonably priced and has decent food. They've changed it since the reopening and no longer have the same salad bar options. If you're going towards the end of the day do keep in mind they run out of certain items... I tried their caramelized onion and goat cheese quiche, so good! As for the their circuits, try them all! read more

Very nice spa. The grounds are really nice, and the fact that it's surrounded by trees/forest is a huge bonus.

Found this spa on YouTube before our trip back east and we booked 2 one hr reflexology appointments even tho we've never had that before because all the massage times were taken and it turned out to be great. Finlandais is about a 35 minute drive from Vieux Montreal where we were staying and we pulled in up front then they sent us up across the street to parkIng and a shuttle picked us up. In summer it would be fine to walk back only 2 mins walk away. Checking in was fast and easy and we got to the changing rooms downstairs quickly and they had private showers and it was very clean, Nice! The wait for our treatments wasn't long and it was our first time having reflexology but wow it was great. I dosed off a couple times durIng, it was very relaxing and the foot massage at the end felt soooo good. WHat a great start! Off to the hot tubs and I was surprised how many different tubs and saunas they have and they are all a little different. The temperature, size, pressure of jets vary so you'll find a tub or sauna that you'll love. I love them all but the infinity tub has the strongest jets, that's my style and isn't as hot as some of the others which my wife likes so we ended up spending lots of time in that one. They have 8 different saunas I tried 5 of them and I liked everyone. Same as tubs all a little different. I really like that the resting spaces are no talking so you can take a nap very easily and same for saunas but outside in main area you can talk quietly, there's so much water moving from the many water features you can't be disturbed anyway if you don't wish to socialize. The bistro on site is very nice and has some good food and drinks. The pale ale was great with the charcuterie, the soup my wife had she really enjoyed. Although I enjoyed our light meal it wasn't anything special but the chocolate cake was amazing! There's lots of different spaces throughout this facility including the exfoliation room that I'm sure you'll find something to keep things interesting. We spent more than 10hrs there but the time just seemed to fly by and you just feel great all loosey goosey lol It was a wonderful day that we spent together at this beautiful spa and now I'm on a mission to get back to Montreal so we can do it all over again. read more

I lovelovelovelovelove Spa Le FInlandais! Now while I might be biased because I really haven't found a nordic spa I didn't enjoy, Spa Le Finlandais is definitely one of my favourites! Bring your swimsuit, a towel, bathrobe and some flip flops because located just 20 minutes north of Montreal, Spa Le Finlandais is a haven of tranquillity and relaxation. While you might think that spas are girly frou-frou experiences, nordic spas like Spa le Finlandais, have wide-spread appeal for men and women alike. Book a massage and gain access to the nordic baths or enjoy the baths on their own. Two thermal baths, two saunas, a steam room, two arctic plunge pools, a waterfall, and almost a dozen indoor and outdoor relaxation areas await you. With Spa le Finlandais being open as early as 8:30am and until 11pm year round, you have plenty of time to relax and unwind read more

Enjoyable way to spend a day off! Enjoyed the spa as there was good mix of hot and cold baths as well as different styles of saunas! The bistro was very nice with a larger than expected choice of wines , coffees and meals. I However wouldn't waste your money on the Deep Pressure Swedish massage though and opt just for the standard as I didn't see any difference of pressure nor any attempt by the masseuse to make sure any extra pressure was applied or to my liking. Would return again! read more
This is a great spa, but as many other reviewers said, it gets busy! If you want to enjoy the spa without having to fight for a spot, I suggest you come early. I got there at about 9:30 am and there were only a handful of people, but as I was leaving at noon, it started getting crazy busy. The staff were great, the facilities were clean and well maintained. I got lunch from the bistro and it was surprisingly good and filling for spa food. read more
I haven't been at Le Finlandais in well over a decade, however, a last minute decision prompted us to attempt a spa experience without needing to drive too far from Montreal. There are many reasons why we haven't come back to this spa but since we've heard about how recent renovations made this place "so much better" curiosity finally got the best of us... and we paid the price for it... literally. THE GOOD - The place is visually appealing : If you're here early enough to experience the site with very few present people. Everything looks really esthetically nice with a beautiful forest and river to look at only a few steps away. I personally liked the docks and the seats near the forest and spent some time there. Since it was nearly October, the staff decorated the place with what seemed like a hundred pumpkins. It was all very pretty. THE MEH - The massage experience : As a massage lover, I tend to get a massage about once a month or so and already have my established spots to go to. However, I'm always open to new experiences so if you like a very light massage with very little effect to your body, Le Finlandais is the place to go. Furthermore, a 60 minute massage costs you $99. If you want a "deep massage" it's $105. Really?? Forget the fact that this pricing is simply not competitive with so many other fine places you can visit in the area. Forget the fact that only the 60 minute option is available.... but to charge... $6 more to get a deep massage? Ridiculous. Sure, as mentioned by other Yelpers, you can most likely wait and opt for a special opening during the day to get a cheap massage but let's be honest with ourselves, I want a turn-key, stress free experience when going to the spa and not have to check-in every so often to see if a spot opened up during the day. The last thing this place needs is even more foot traffic. There's already plenty of it. - The lockers seem to have a new RFID bracelet system that looks cool but can be somewhat problematic. As luck would have it, my first bracelet simply didn't work on my locker... perhaps it was broken or perhaps it's because it's been marked wrong as they use a marker that easily goes away during your spa experience and needs to be re-written per client visit. Odds are, the 1st bracelet I got had this issue. So make sure you remember your locker number because the number will vanish quickly. - There's been a few additions during the years, including a new Russian section (covered more in detail in Ugly) and some new bubble seats that seem to float on the warm baths. Let's talk about these bubbles. Overall, it's a nice experience despite the bubbles being a bit too close for comfort. My major issue is that even in 10 degree weather I got cold simply because the bubble is floating a bit too much. Most of my legs and my butt were comfortable but my upper body and my knees?? were actually cold. If the bubble was deeper into the water the experience could be far more enjoyable. - The staff is very present, in fact so much so they seriously add to the "busiest spa ever" experience. They seem really good at what they do, they are present and I saw them repeatedly tell people in the pools to... SHUT UP! Then I caught staff chilling out and chatting it up themselves when they weren't busy for minutes on end. THE UGLY - If you like seeing lots of people in swimsuits then you'll be in luck! If you want to feel a more traditional spa experience then avoid this place! It can truly be a fashion show with as much foot traffic as St-Catherine street trying to find chairs and especially hot bath space. The waiting room to get a massage is almost a claustrophobic experience with a long line-up of massage therapists waiting their turn to call their client while patrons wait in a small communal room. - The place isn't completely quiet as you'll always hear people talking... particularly at the hot baths. Seriously people, SHUT UP! This truly broke my spa immersion. People can always hear you even when you're walking around mumbling to each other. It sounds like MUUUMUMMMUMUUUMMUMMMUM! Annoying. The whole place sounds like a "hushed" library than a "spa experience". - So how busy is it? Well, so busy there's a line-up to attempt use the new Russian sauna. That's right. A line-up! As if I'm at La Ronde! I checked it later when it didn't have one but how awkward it was trying to quietly slip between people to your small wet seat. ICH!!! - Do come here with your own personal robe and water bottles or be prepared to pay the price. We brought our water bottles but I didn't bring my robe since we have been lavishly spoiled and pampered at other spa places that always provided them you them free of cost. A single robe rental here is an expensive $9. I could understand a few bucks but almost a Sir John A. Macdonald dollar bill? Outright thievery!!! read more

Pros: best facilities around, very clean, saunas smell great, lots of staff, amazing relaxation rooms, cheap last minute massages, beautifully decorated in winter Cons: not a lot of parking, expensive, crowded on holidays and weekends, music annoying at times Overall this is the best spa that I have been to. The place is great, clean and relaxing. The place is best (and cheaper) on non holiday weekdays. I usually go at night. The lockers are free. No shampoo in showers, but there is soap. The locker rooms are small but very clean and accessible. Massages are quite expensive. I recommend not reserving one and instead trying to grab a last minute, $25/$50 for 30/60 minute, massage. Same goes for $40 hour facials. The massage therapists are very experienced, young, strong, and listen to your needs. Reccomended! read more

do not stay at hotel! walls are thin we could hear everything! the person next to us was blasting music for hours late at night! when we finally called it took 30 to 45 minutes for someone to check it out... they only lowered the music a little bit! then later someone knocked on our door and when i got up to answer they just left... struggled to fall asleep and rest. i should have just went to estrel because this night of sleep was trash! and when i talked to the front desk at check for some type of compensation the girl at the front desk was not helpful. staff is kind of not efficient. they even charged me twice for my massage. i do not even leave reviews but i will definitely take out time to share this horrible experience with you and google and yelp and everywhere else i can let people not to spend the night at this hotel!staff is not efficient you hotel walls are thin and the rooms are noisy! would not recommend and will not be coming back to this hotel! read more

This spa was magical. The saunas, cool pools, spas - all of it was great. I visited in the winter so the spa was especially soothing. I found the facility to be wonderful. I read some other reviews and they are right - the spa is very busy especially on the weekend. I recommend trying to visit during the work week if possible. Regardless of the people I still found it relaxing. I didn't mind faint conversations in the spa or the busy locker room. The receptionists gave a brief explanation of the spa, but if you don't understand the process or have questions there's a help desk near the locker rooms right before you walk outside. There they have videos, a step by step and a digital map of the venue. I relied on that quite a few times. This area is also mostly francophone. I'm accustomed to Montreal where everyone greets with "Bonjour, Hi" to show that they don't mind English, but Rosemere area leans more towards the French. This made things a little difficult and I certainly felt more shy when I attempted to speak my garbled French, but regardless everyone was kind about it. The masseuse didn't mind and neither did the receptionists. read more
I want to go back every year!!! This place is a water park for adults. I had the best massage and facial. The staff members were really sweet and the facilities were so clean. I hated that I had to leave, but I felt so much better, physically, after visit. I thought it would be creepy with a bunch of freaky people walking around, but I was so wrong. This was an experience unlike none other that I've ever had. It was truly relaxing and a great way to reward myself for the work that I do all year. I didn't take pictures because it is looks exactly as posted on their website and other yelp pictures. read more

Wow, le Finlandais is SOO Relaxing. It's very clean, spacious and they have different types of pools. It's better if you go during the winter as the temperature difference between the pools and outside makes it even better. It can sometimes by crowded so, if possible, go during the week. read more
They had a two for one deal last night so the boo and I decided to jump on it. Arrived right before the deal started and plenty of deal-seekers like us waiting to get in line. This place is amazing. I don't know how it looks like during the day, but at night with all the colorful changing lights and steam everywhere it looks like some kind of dream world. Yes, it was busy but nothing too annoying. Enjoyed exploring the different tubs and rooms, liked some more than others but it was all good to me. The main outside tubs were huge and had plenty of room for us to hang out. The waterfalls were a definite treat. The hammam was also a plus, as well as the dry sauna. There were also some regular temp rest areas which was nice for a break. Also went to the bistro for a bite, and it was solid though nothing spectacular. I'd say I prefer this over Bota Bota, which is saying a lot. read more

A fortress of serenity not too far from the hectic centropolis located in the 514 area. The entire establishment exudes relaxation with a Nordic flavour, instilling tranquility and peace of mind in everyone that makes the sojourn to Laval. If you're seeking a therapeutic treatment, the staff of experienced massage therapists will relieve tension and eliminate knots with a metaphorical flick of the wrist. If it's lounging around in the baths and pools that tickles your fancy, you're in luck as the spa hosts a eclectic set of aquatic stations built to restore your body, mind, and soul. If you're feeling adventurous, the steamy saunas offer the perfect blend of equanimity and stillness one seeks when contemplating life in sweltering heat. Once you build up an appetite, the resort's restaurant has a mouth-watering menu of succulent dishes and delectable desserts. Overall, this is unequivocally the best spa in the Montreal area and offers a full suite of amenities for a relaxing day. read more
