Upon arrival we were immediately asked to select our color and were seated at the appropriate station. Nothing fancy my cuticles were growing crazy. I got a hydrating facial. My acne is getting out of control. The owner is nice & she not that talkative. She gets down to business. Which is nice but I did have to ask what exactly did she do to my face. She kindly explained. The girl who did my nail was lovely. All in my experience was amazing. Completely understandable for walking in without an appointment. One lady was waiting when I walked in. Asked for stiletto French tip and a new full set so I would need a soak off. The total was going to be 82. That was fine with me because it was for my wedding so there was no budget. They sat me in the back in the corner even though there were open seats in the front. They never offered to soak my nails or even asked what I wanted until I asked. My nails still never got soaked off or even looked at. As a black woman, this already rubbed me the wrong way but I shook it off because I was excited to get my nails done. I watched people come and go and even the lady that came in after me was seated and started her nails. An older lady that had no appointment (that came in 30 minutes after me) was invited to soak her nails off. I sat there for 40+ minutes waiting and no one even showed any effort to provide me with a service. As the only black person in the shop, this feeling of being completely ignored felt intentional. At the end of the day, women of all races love getting their nails done and feeling pretty, this process shouldn't have been so impossible.

Samantha Owens, who is the lash artist at Talk Of The Town, is the best of the best. She offers premium lash extensions (curled and straight) and charges $60 for fill-ins. I believe the initial cost for the first set is $110.00, but I will update if incorrect. These extensions last on myself for 4 weeks! Impressive, but quality and proper technique go a long way! Talk Of The Town also offers hair cutting and coloring services, waxing, facials, pedicures, skin rejuvenation among many other services.
