Years ago I was a spa junky. Back then I could afford it. Not so much anymore.
The enviorment itself is not bad but I've seen better. It took about 10 minutes for anyone to even notice I was there. In that time I enterained myself looking at the items they hadfor sale. The soaps and lotions were reasonable. The jewerely way overprice and very cheaply made. I was a bit surrised by this.
The staff was pleasant. "The waiting room" is a bit silly and if you see it you will understand. I kind of chuckled but that has to do wth the layaout and they rent the facility so not much you can do about that.
The music they had playing was ok but every spa I've ever been in always has the heavenly fraqrance of esstenial oils when you walk in and when you are in the room. Dimmed lights and a relaxing atompshere. Not so here. I actually thought about that several times while I was receiving my facial.
As any facial you are going to see some notable difference, which my skin was hydrated the same as after I use my products. Later in the day that feeling was gone. The arm massage and face/neck/back massage: both were each about 10 seconds long (I'm use to getting a mini massage in a spa. And why here they always want to twist your neck. That is not comfortable or relaxing. Where I'm from no one ever did that.
She mentioned going some place to pick up supplies and when she told me I was like what? I could buy this for the big old $6-9 and due this myself? I was a little taken back by that. So I turned my head and sure enough they were products I an esily get hold of myself. That left me kinda of feeling ripped off. Sorry but it is true. :( With that being said she talked, and talked and talked the entier time. She did mention at least 4 times that if I dont' see improvment in my skin my product isn't working. I told her I like my product she kept repeating this after telling me my skin looked good She didn't read my allergies until after I was in there so she spent a bit of time reading labels while I laid there waiting. A facial should be relaxing. A day or a trip to the spa should leave you refreshed, relaxed and happy. This did not.
For what I got was it worth $90? Not really. It was not worth it at all.
The pedicure was NOT worth $35 in any shape or form. I've had better peidcures for $20. The entire reason I like a pedicure is the massae chair and the foot massage. Again the foot/leg massage was like 30 seconds. Left me sitting there going That was it? The massage chair was horrible. It did nothing. NOTHING. I was going to chat because there was nothing else to do and she looked at me and said "There are magazines if you want." Well honestly not really because I typically do not read magaizines. I might glance throuh it but rarily, I have no interest in a magazine. My feet looked like any other place on the exception on my left foot the big toes nail was slopped and it now reminds me of a sking. But the point being is if you are going to charge 10-15 more than everyone else make it worth that 10-15 dollars. The pedicure on best would be a 1 star. Then she had just finished painting my toes and bascially kicked me out. Ummmm... really. My nails never had time to dry. Total time 40 minutes. Yes I timed it.
Lastly when I came out there were four people waiting on me, starring at me. OK I know she wanted to introduce me to the accupturnist who charges $150 an hour. I was like really? My old accupturnist only charged $70 and she was good, very good and made you feel very relaxed. She is in Lakeland. After what I experienced why on earth would I want to be charged more when more is not being given?
The pedicureist was standing around waiting on a tip. That is rather insulting to the customer. I gave her one but really I should not had. I was going to either way but that made me very uncomfortable. Deos the hair styslist, massage therapist everyone wait at the door for their tip?
I went in with high expectations and with the thought if it went well I would start making a montly appointment. I truly believe the one person that we should spoil is us. How we treat ourselves will reflect unto others. Now I'm just not as pumped with the idea of this place. There are some changes that really need to be made in this establishment. I hope they do them. One would be lowering some of the costs to make them appropriate for the service or raise their standards on the service.
In business we should always deliver more than what the customer expects not less. Now I just feel bad I spent the money. read more
