Come in and i said I wanted to remove split ends while keeping length. Her response was basically: you can't do that without cutting it short. Weird. I've gone to other salons where they've removed the split ends while keeping length. So then I referenced a photo, not a stock photo but a picture of myself by a hairdresser that moved away. Which is the reason I went to another salon, to find another hairdresser. She said I had a specific expectation and to go back to that hairdresser that cut my hair like the photo. First of all, who DOESNT go to the salon with an expectation or stock photo or wanting their hair cut a certain way when they go to a salon? Second she said she's been cutting hair for so long and thinks she can cut it the way I want it BUT I have a very specific expectation. I'm confused, you can do it but don't want me unhappy with your result? Ok. No problem, I appreciate that you were thinking of me but not before asking me to make another trip to the salon, giving me the impression that you were going to rectify a situation by having me sit in your chair and put that cape around me? She gave me my money back in the end but not without arguing with me first and asking me to waste a trip. As a business owner, maybe ask for the reference photo PRIOR to the trip, the arguing with a client. If you have any expectations for your haircut, don't go to this salon. If you want to go in, sit down and say "do what you want"....still go somewhere else.

Please don't let the online scheduling portal detour you from enjoying the luxury and superior customer service Spavia has to offer. I wouldn't even bother trying to book an appointment online if you're a first time guest - just call! Per other Yelpers, I booked with John because I enjoy deep tissue and apparently he is great (spoiler alert: HE IS THE BEST!!). Heads up though that he is booked weeks in advance, and yes, he is worth the wait! Upon arrival you are greeted with a warm neck pillow while you fill out a simple new guest form. Standard questions like "where is your pain generally located" etc. As an avid massage receiver, I've never been asked "what music do you prefer during your massage" or "what scent would you like?" The customization they offer is top notch and I appreciated the options. Once your form has been completed, you're taken back to the immaculate locker room and provided with a robe and sandals. This robe...WOW. It was probably the most lush piece of clothing I've ever placed upon my body. I wish they sold them at the spa because I would've purchased immediately with zero buyers remorse. You are shown a locker to place your belongings in with a lock, so you don't have to worry about leaving your purse/jewelry while you enjoy your chosen service(s). There is also a restroom and shower. Once changed, you migrate to the waiting area where water and tea is provided if you'd like. Okay, now to the best part, the massage... FIVE STARS. John was extremely professional, listened to my areas of concern and the 60 minutes felt like two hours. He was very meticulous and the pressure was exactly what I wanted, firm and deep. If you like firm, book with John. I can't rave enough about him!! Overall experience exceeded my expectations and upon check out I booked another massage with John and a facial. Thank you Spavia for allowing me to relax for once since having my baby 4 months ago!

Her knowledge of the skin and skin care products is incredible. Her spa, which is in her home, is very warm and welcoming, so relaxing. I had been through years of chemotherapy and surgeries for cancer and my skin was in horrible condition. I have now been seeing her for seven months and my skin is improving tremendously. I have been getting the oxegeneo facials, micro needling and the plump and peel facial, and they are very luxurious, my skin looks and feels so amazing. I have been going to Jennifer for a year now, and my experience with her has been AMAZING. It all…read morestarted when I was looking for a chiropractor for my husband and a facial specialist for myself. While searching for a spa, I came across Health by Design Family Spa clicked on their page, and saw micro-needling, which I had been interested in trying but wanted to avoid problems I have seen with it. Jennifer's reviews and the warm atmosphere of her practice looked very inviting(just by the website), so I decided to make an appointment. On the day of my facial appointment, I expressed my concerns to the aesthetician. I mentioned that I was feeling quite nervous about the treatment, as I'm not very fond of makeup, I only wear it for gatherings and church. I've also seen some interesting results from micro-needling. I asked if she could walk me through the facial step by step, show me the needles, and explain what was happening during it. Let me tell you! Jennifer is incredibly knowledgeable about skincare and what she did for my face. I have never met an esthetician with so much expertise and such a calming, spiritual demeanor. I felt amazing afterward. She did this treatment a week before my Italy trip, and my skin felt fantastic in the days following the appointment no burning or irritation at all. Italy my face felt amazing the whole time I was there. THIS IS WHY I WILL ONLY LET HER TOUCH MY FACE!!! After returning from my trip a few months later, I reached out to her because I had been so busy. I mentioned that my skin was dry, dull, and in need of hydration. We decided to try the OxyGeneo 3-in-1 Facial, and both of us could see a significant improvement, my skin had a beautiful glow (before and after photos showed such a huge difference after my facial that day). We do this facial once a month, and in the weeks in between, we have Hydrating Facials and Skin Resurfacing treatments. I've also had a back facial, which I highly recommend! I am overall very happy with my results. When I go in with my concerns for the week and feel unsure about what to do, she assesses my face and tells me exactly what I need and why. Understanding the reasoning behind her recommendations is very important to me, and she communicates this knowledge extremely well. I often brag about her, and people frequently ask what products I use. Even my husband has noticed the difference and now asks me not to wear makeup when we go out in the evenings. I am truly thankful to have found this beautiful spa and the wonderful atmosphere that comes with it.

I usually dread going to salons because when I used to go to other places, it would be chaotic and loud with tons of people in there. But it was just me and her!! It was so relaxing. When it came time to pay for the bleaching, toner, olaplex, and styling, it was only $150, and I was honestly expecting it to cost double that (again, my salon experiences are mostly pre-covid). If you prefer a chill & laid back experience with talented hair stylists, this is the place to go!
