this location is awful! so I haven't tanned in 3 plus weeks and did a full 12 minutes in a 12 minute bed without even getting hot! prior to taking the small break I was going 3 times a week and happened to pop into the Lake Forest location by cinemark and did a 12 minute bed there-- HAD TO GET OUT AT 9 MINUTES because it was SO HOT! I have never EVER had to get out of one of the University/380 beds because it was too hot! Starting to wonder what I'm even paying for! read more

So, i came here to get a spray tan last Sunday before my husband and I left for his work trip Monday morning. I am very familiar with spray tans and was excited to try this place out since I live so close and it would be so convenient. Also, they advertise thAt they offer VersaPro, which is what I typically get. 1. They did not offer VersaPro, i was told it was being phased out. - ok fine, but why advertise that you still offer it? 2. They offered me 2 other choices, ones i was not familiar with, so I asked the girl to explain the difference. - after all sorts of confusion, i just asked her what she recommended and I would go with that. I believe it was one of the mystic tans (which i have heard of but have not gotten) and then she recommended this add on so i wouldnt come out orange ---- why would u even have a spray tan machine that turns u orange and still offer it? 3. She shows me the positions.. which there are only 2... o asked how would it get my lateral sides, to which she said oh, the air moves it around 360degrees... looking back, that sounds boogus, but I said ok cool. I get the tan and head on home. Few hours go by and i go to use the bathroom and as i look in the mirror, i was in shock. I.looked. So. Streaky. The tan dis not disperse evenly, and not much of a shocker, missed my ENTIrE lateral sides of my body. I was mortified. Im still mortified. She genuinely cares about her employees. She is friendly, and I always leave in a better mood when she greets me. I hope this company values the impact she has on her customers. read more

Melanie is a manager here and she was so comforting to me! I am very pasty white and I have freckles, my mom even has red hair and green eyes so we have the whole irish "we'll never ever tan" thing going on. In the past I had tried Versa Spa spray tans at another Planet Tan location and while I always looked great the first few days, after I had gone for a run or gone to hot yoga I had sweat all of the color off, usually in an embarassing way as it stained the yoga towels, my sheets on my bed, or my running clothes. So last year I gave up on spray tans and decided I would just have to learn to love being freakishly pale. Then, my husband got a wild idea and decided I should go back in and at least talk about tanning beds. Lo and behold, I have found my tanning guru, the tanning jesus, Melanie. Not only did she insist on seeing me in person before making decisions about how I could tan, but she sat and talked to me for over half an hour. She talked to me about what the different beds do and told me which beds would work best for me without burning me, then she talked to me about a ton of different products and helped me choose the right ones for me and my complexion. She was super patient and so helpful and every time I've been to this location so far it's always been clean, the staff has been super nice, and I just love it! The good news? I haven't been going very long but I'm already starting to see color!! I'm telling you, melanie = tanning goddess. She knows it all! read more

I am very very upset and disappointed that they have gotten rid of Versa Pro spray tanning booth. This is the only reason I have a membership here! They only have booths that are made by palm beach now and I can truthfully say they are no good! They do not get me dark enough and no double pass, it's like going back in time to an old machine that doesn't do anything. I will be canceling my membership unfortunately and looking for somewhere with a Vera pro machine. The machines they have now are NOT WORTH an expensive membership. Terrible move palm beach I expect you will be losing many members and money from your bad decision. read more

I waited for the mystic long after it was empty. Gary just sat behind the desk on the computer acting busy, when he knew it was open. Disrespectful of my time. I was also told that when I unfroze my membership that the bank would be applied to the monthly payment until the bank was exhausted. That is not how it works. Canceled my membership. read more

I have been sunless tanning here and they are terrific! I was so glad to find a place where I could tan occasionally.

The worst customer service I've ever experience!! They screwed up my account and then were unwilling to fix it!! They swiped someone else's card on my account so I wasn't getting charged. I asked about it twice!!! They said I didn't have a balance. I went back in to tan and they said I owed $190 before I could tan. I've tried to resolve the issue with no response from them!!! I am writing this review because I see all the bad reviews on Yahoo and wanted to make sure that there is a recent review. Notice all the bad reviews are over a year ago. I went in yesterday and having never been to a tanning salon didn't know what to expect. From the Yahoo reviews I was really kinda scared. From the reviews I thought I would receive no customer service and would not get my questions answered and then be pressured to buy all the products. On the contrary, I was greeted immediately by a very friendly employee named Dillon!!! He was very informative and very nice. He listened to what I wanted and then offered a deal that would fit my needs. He did pull out several moisturizers that were his personal favorite and explained each one and then backed off to let me decide which ones I wanted. There was no pressure nor did I see him trying to pressure anyone else into buying anything. The place was clean and spa-like. The stand up bed was great! The built in music which you control made the experience perfect. They have phones on the wall to call up front if you have problems or questions, which made me feel at ease. They provide towels and hair ties in the bathroom. The hair ties were a life saver as I hadn't intended on tanning the first time. I was just coming in to set up the program. I have very long hair and so the hair tie was perfect! I asked about why they had such bad reviews and of course it was because they had gone through 3 managers in the past. The manager they have now is GREAT because Dillon is awesome and as far as I can see so is this store!!! So happy!!! it won t be long and I will be golden brown! I went in to obtain a 30 day tanning program on May 10th for a cruise I was taking on June 18th. I explained to the desk representative (Kennedy) that I was wanting only to purchase 30 days of service. She indicated that if I ever wanted to possibly continue past 30 days she could set me up where I can freeze the account and therefore not have to pay the set up fee again. I made it very clear I did not want to continue past the 30 day period, being June 10th. My card was charged for the 30 day service, along with a set up fee, which I questioned at the time as well. On May 26th I asked the desk representative if my last day on my 30 tanning period was up on the 10th or 11th of the month. She indicated that I was set up on a continued monthly cycle, not a one-time 30 day period. I had a long conversation with her and expressed my concern that I was not to be set up on any reoccurring plan. She said she would visit with corporate and let me know. On May 31st, I spoke to Kennedy (the lady that set me up on the system) and she reassured my that my 30 day period would expire on June 11th and that my account would not be debited in June. The next day - my account was debited. I went in to visit with Kennedy and to have my account credited immediately. She said she was sorry and would get with corporate to correct. Never heard a word back for several days - Called again and they had be talk to a manager (John Paul). Had to go through the entire scenario with him - He was no help - only once again said he would need to talk to corporate. I am now trying to find out the franchise owner and/or who to visit with in corporate. read more

I bought a package deal by buying several tans up front and getting one for free. The package expired after 60 days!!!!! I wasted 2 spray tans and I just bought the package 3 May 2016. A phone call or email reminder would've been nice. read more

I did not have a great experience with this place. I only really came in for a one session to try it out. Some how they talked me into getting a special deal for so many times sunbed and so many times a spray tan. Rather then give me the price for that first they charged me over $180. Not just a small amount but of course I was there and decided to pay for it. What they didn't tell me though was that you had to use all the sessions within 3 months (or was it 2 months). So when I went a few times and still had about 6 sessions left seemingly the fourth time I wanted to go it was expired. Ridiculous. Never will use them again. read more

I was planning on coming in to do one of my yearly summer spray tans, but I wanted to know what deals were being sponsored so I called and spoke with the assistant manager, (I believe his name was Adam or Alex) who was very friendly on the phone and told me exactly what I was asking about and didn't bother trying to sell me extra stuff that I didn't need (which is a relief!). Well, I ended up going to the wrong location and went to the one in allen, which was fine and I still got my spray tan. But then I decided to let the assistant manager know at the other location so he wasn't expecting me last minute and explained my goof-up but the whole point as to why I am writing this review, besides that he was nice and friendly, is because he answered the phone when I called at 10:59! I really thought it was a long shot, because these days places seem to stop answering the phone when they are about to close (which planet tan closes at 11 on fridays). But nope he answered the phone just as happy and friendly as before and I appreciated that and will be sure to go to the mckinney location next time! read more
