I'm not exaggerating when I say, her tattoo has left red scarred pigments to this day. I got the tattoo maybe 8 years ago and the shape was uneven and did not heal nicely. This is a really cute small salon that does microblading, lips, and eyeliner. I was recommended by a friend and wanted some light work done, as my eyebrows are already big. But sometimes I'm too lazy or just want naturally looking eyebrows. Making an appointment is super easy, and tieu text you the day prior so you can remember. When I first got here, obviously... I was nervous. It lasts up to a year. But SoYount assistant gave me a list on how it works, how to take care of them, and how long it lasts, etc etc. She made me feel alot more comfortable. SoYoung and her assistant are so friendly! And VERY welcoming. They have coffee ,water and snacks for their customers. The procedure itself, was very fast and painless. SoYoung is super fast! I've been to Soyoung before but went back yesterday for another eyebrow session. With the world being so different with covid and all now, I decided to update my review for my fellow beauty salon yelpers. I know it's tough finding the courage to go to any salon during this situation - but I felt extremely safe here despite the current pandemic. They space out each client, sanitize in between each appointment, and take your temperature. Also, there's plenty of hand sanitizers available for clients use. She also keeps her mask on during the whole process so you will be in good hands there. Go get your beauty fix, don't let covid scare you. Upon arrival to this super cute salon, you check in & they put numbing cream on for at least 30 minutes. I did not feel ANY pain or discomfort during my whole eyebrow session - I was shocked!! I got my eyebrows done quite a few times and all I remember is the pain from other brow artists... But I come back to Soyoung because she makes it completely painless and the results are beautiful. I always have my hair up in a bun and have been noticing that the edges of my hairline has been thinning a little. I recently discovered hairline microblading and have been wanting to try since microblading my eyebrows have already made a world of a difference and it cut down my morning routine a lot too. Soyoung did SUCH a good job with my hairline that I'm so surprised how natural it looks! My hair is dyed a brunette color but the black is full able to blend super well with my natural hair. She did three rounds with numbing between each round. The first round did sting a little but apparently the hairline is a super sensitive area plus beauty is pain amiritee? Got my eyebrows done by Soyoung a few years ago because she was popular then and it is my biggest regret. She has a very big ego, overbooks her clients, and does one after another in a rush. There are people literally waiting in line with numbing cream. In addition, while I was there for the tattoo and for the follow up tattoo, I have heard talk badly about her clients who either complain or call her to complain, which is very unprofessional. Most importantly though, she has ruined my brows forever. First of all, I have an oily face. She should have warned me that with an oily face microblading will blur together. She did not tell me that. My eyelash lady who saw my blurred brows told me what happened. Secondly, she went in too deep and left permanent scars. After about 6 months to a year, the microblading faded but I was left with permanent purplish reddish brown scars. I went to different eyebrow specialists to do a cover up but no one wants to touch Soyoung's work. They say she is infamous for deep scarring with the pigment she uses. I went to get a consultation for laser tattoo to remove what she has done to me, but the laser consultant also said Soyoung went too deep and they are permanently scarred. Also, because of the pigment she used, if I laser the tattoo off, I may have neon orange coloring instead. Now, I am stuck with purplish reddish brown scars as my eyebrows and have to use concealer to cover them up. I wish I never went to Soyoung. All the negative reviews are true. Just had my eyebrows microbladed by Soyoung today! - THE EXPERIENCE - First of all everyone here is super friendly and accommodating. Soyoung is also very friendly and made me feel relaxed despite the fact that I was a little nervous. She really is an artist and knows what she's doing. I was scared I was going to come out with super arched Instagram influencer eyebrows but it came out looking super natural. It was also really easy to schedule my appointment over the phone. They first put some numbing cream on my brows for 30 minutes and then we discussed what I wanted. I asked her to just do what she thinks will suit my face the best. we ended up going with a slightly sharper, defined brow - but kept it looking natural and following my natural brow shape for the most part. It consisted of three parts, where she carefully adjusts and sees what other parts of the brows need work on. The actual procedure didn't hurt. I honestly barely felt it. Right after though as the numbing cream begins to wear off, you feel a slight burning sensation but it's nothing terrible. It just feels a little sensitive. I would totally do it again. - MY BROWS BEFORE - I've always been aware of my brows because I have thinner brows than most guys, who actually tend to have very bushy ones. I hate filling in my brows because it's such a waste of time, so now I'm so glad that I have full brows that i don't have to take care of as much! Brows definitely shape your face and it makes a huge difference. - BROWS AFTER and AFTERCARE- My new brows are defined, filled in and full. And I'm so happy with the result. I'm going to come back in around a month to have it retouched. They gave me simple to follow instructions on how to take care of them..like not touching the brows roughly and scrubbing it until it heals. I got referred from my friend that they do great eyelash perms and semi permanent tattoos so i decided to try it out! I was scared at first thinking about how it might hurt but both services did not hurt and it turned out natural and so beautiful! So I decided to do my lips since they had discoloration, embarassing I know but Soyoung helped me make them evenly colored without any dark pigment left! I was really nervous that it may hurt but there was no pain and thankfully she applies some numb cream throughout the session to help ease any uncomfortable feeling! Lip tattoo has 2-3 sessions so this was my final session result!~ Beautiful i know i know! best of all, she said IT LASTS ABOUT 5 YEARS!! This was the best decision I have ever made this year! I can finally just go out without having to put on lipstick or lipgloss Also to talk about eyelash perms! I had very droopy straight lashes that kept poking my eyes but Heather lifted them up so beautifully and now i feel like i can see better! As this happens, I imagine there are so many first-time customers browsing trying to find the right person, which is why I write this review. I am the pickiest consumer when it comes to any service, but the reason I travel far to Soyoung is because: 1) Soyoung is the most experienced and knowledgeable in this business. For Soyoung this is her main, original craft. She is not a former hair stylist or lash stylist who then added microblading/tattoo as a service to get more business, like many other providers nowadays. Soyoung was in this business before it became popular, before anyone else. She's the original veteran "OG" microblading expert. This has been her specialty for more than 10 years. Her experience is unmatched. 2) Soyoung is receptive to your individual style and caters to it, while still making expert recommendations. I am a very picky, very nervous customer who likes to look natural as if I didn't get anything done. She knows this, and can accommodate any style or preference. It's not a one-size-fits-all service but truly catered to your style. At the same time, she gauges what is best for you based on your own style. She will still ask but also give recommendations based on what she feels is the best fit for you specifically. 3) Soyoung is sensitive to safety and pain. I have a very low threshold for pain, and she will constantly ask me if anything hurts, and also make sure to apply numbing creams in between rounds. Soyoung is a perfectionist, so she will still try to put every effort into each millimeter of work, while still being sensitive to how much pain you can handle. Soyoung also gives realistic expectations and does not offer empty promises. That's why she offers the follow-up session. She knows and educates her customers that it is not realistically possible to gauge and finish her work in one session. The touch-up is just as important as the first session, because of the way everyone's skin reacts and heals is different. The fee for service should be thought of as two (2) sessions, not one session. The final product is NOT after the first session, and should never be judged that way. I don't know how much other services charge, but I find her prices very reasonable for the level of time, attention to detail and in-depth experience Soyoung brings to her work. Someone with only 2-3 years experience and someone with more than 10 years of experience should not cost the same, and with Soyoung, I feel like I get what I pay for, and she takes great pride and responsibility in her work. The overall procedure was about an hour the longest part is probably to wait for numbing cream to kick in (this can take up to 30 minutes). Pain level was tolerable. I would say 4 out 10 for me. The best part is you won't look hideous right after the procedure. You can carry on your normal routine. The color would fade at least 50%. I still have to fill in a tiny bit of eyebrow pencil on the brow head but that's ok, I figured it's my skin that didn't take the complete color. It is to ENHANCE your brow so that they look full and well-shapes enough for your no-make up days, or to make makeup application a lot quicker. My mom and I went together, and the first thing she did was explain what semi-permanent makeup's purpose and the whole run-down of it all. Then she numbed our brows for about 30 minutes and asked us to show her a picture of the shape. She matched what I wanted so perfectly. An unprofessional service led to permanent, discolored microblading. I went to Soyoung in 2018 and I really regret getting microbladed eyebrows done by her. It is NOT semi-permanent!!! It has been over four years now since my service and there is still pigment in my eyebrows. The pigment has become totally discolored, a reddish color that doesn't match the color of the rest of my eyebrows. I remember I had a good experience for my initial appointment, but my second appointment, where the technician creates the final shape and does the more permanent microblading, went HORRIBLY and was completely unprofessional. While I was in the middle of my treatment, another woman came into the store, had a short conversation with the receptionist and instead of waiting for her turn, sat down in the other treatment chair beside me and started chatting with Soyoung. The other woman started talking about what type of service she wanted to have while Soyoung was still working on me. Soyoung became extremely distracted because she was talking with the woman at the same time she was working on my brows, and suddenly cut the needles too deep. Unlike the other strokes she had done, this stroke was very painful, felt like a deep cut and my eyebrows immediately started bleeding. She had to hold a paper towel to my eyebrows as it bled badly. That stroke that she went too deep on is STILL ON MY FACE OVER FOUR YEARS LATER, 6 lines that are totally discolored now and red. It is super visible because it is in the inner corner of my brow where I do not grow much hair, and makeup does not cover it. I had hoped it would fade by now, as Soyoung said it would, but it hasn't and my face is permanently messed up. I really DO NOT recommend coming here. Maybe her other services are good, but her microblading has caused a permanent botched brow for me. Also I didn't really care about this because she wore gloves, but I want to note for other folks considering going to Soyoung's, that her hands and person always smelled like cigarettes. If you know you're not sensitive to numbing cream, let her know so that you can leave it on for a few extra minutes. The initial go is a little painful, but she will pause and reapply the numbing cream 2-3 times as she works. And a note for the ladies, try not to go when it's that time of the month. Pls don't believe the reviews about hype about this women. She does a horrible job. First this is way overdue. I first went to Soyoung when she was at atelier salon. First of all. She talks way too much when she does her brows and both times I was there she was talking sh*t about somebody in korean which is extremely unprofessional. When I went for my first eyebrow appt I explained to her what shaped I wanted and that I didn't want black eyebrows I wanted it to me brown. SHE LITERALLY TOOK 1 min for each EYEBROW WITHOUT measuring between the eyebrows of drawing the shape. Just a few back and forth and I was already done. I noticed my eyes brows were crooked but she told me NOT TO WORRY she will fix it when I come in for a touch up. I said ok. After a week the scabs came off and nothing she did on my eyebrows were left! I mean at all. I went in for my touch up a month later and when I told her which I didn't need to because she could see not much was there she blamed my skin type etc etc then without even telling me she literally used BLACK ink on my brows this time maybe she thoght black was going to show more?! I was sooo shocked when I saw the mirror. I freaked out! and when I told her She went over the black with red to somehow make it into a brown but i just needed up with black blueish eyebrows with some red streaks. The first time I got microblading done by Soyoung was in 2017ish when she was at Atelier by Tiffany. I got touch ups done 1-2 times a year for several years because it's cheaper to do a touch up within 9 months than to wait a whole entire year. The shape looked nice at first and she was popular in the LA area. What she doesn't tell you is that it's actually permanent, not semi-permanent. Now I'm left with deeply pigmented, scarred pink/red hue around my eyebrows years after I stopped getting it. They're outside of my natural eyebrow hairs and look really stupid. I also have some blueish lines left as well. I'm desperately looking into microblading removal but been seeing pros and cons to both saline vs laser so if anybody knows anything, please reach out to me. I'm not gonna even go into how rude and arrogant she is and how she doesn't listen to your actual requests. She has a specific style and will do what she wants to. In addition, she is so insanitary. I was so naive back then. She kept her gloves on after applying the ink (where you have to wait like 30 min?) and would touch her phone (they're so dirty), eat/drink stuff, etc. Nasty! I get my semi permanent eye brow tattoo regularly here. My friends got their eye brow, eye line, and lip tinted done. We are all so very very happy with her work!! I was hesitant to get my lip tinting done because I was bit nervous it would hurt even tough my friends said it didn't and also it was bit pricy too. I finally decided I want to try it since I wasn't happy with my pale lip color as I aged and OMG... I love it!! I should have gotten it done sooner! Unlike eye brows, lip tinting are supposed to last for about 4 years. I have to go back for second tough up in few weeks and I am so excited I have my pink shade lip color back like back in 20's. I was bit disappointed with her assistant tough. She didn't let me finish how I wanted to pay with credit card and cash, she was completely ignoring me and charged full amount on my credit card in a blink of an eye. It was not a big deal, she corrected it right away but had bit of attitude, that made me feel uncomfortable. Anyways, I am very happy with my eye brows and lip tinting. I tried this place after reading the reviews and its close to my work. I am pretty picky about my eyebrows because it is going to be permanently tattoo in my face. I stooped by the shop during the lunch hour and try to make an appointment, I was asking the price and how they work, they were just throw price menu at me. They were very RUDE on me. People are entitled to write a review, granted it's your business but part of a growing business is having proper work etiquette amongst employee/ employer and their prospective customers. read more

Just got my eyebrows done for the first time ever!!! Was so scared of how it would turn out.. BUT she drew out the perfect shape of how i told her i wanted, then explained to me it would look really natural as the scabs fall off. She is super sweet and is talented at what she does. I loved the shape!! It literally looks like my own eyebrow hairs lol and the process was painless and so fast i cant wait to go to her for retouches in the future!! read more

To start off, I have being getting my eyebrows done by Soyoung for 3 years now and I love it every time!! Soyoung is super understanding and she listens to my wants and needs in shaping my eyebrows. I personally like to make my eyebrows a little bit longer than the "natural" look and when I expressed that to her without a doubt she made it come true. I personally like to keep my numbing cream on a bit longer (~30mins) and if you just let the assistant know she will inform Soyoung. Also to top of my experience I LOVE THE DECOOOORR! As a fashion student graduate and a person who is all about aesthetic I love how she decorated the place from the cute feminine style to the pop of colors throughout the store!
