This review is so long overdue as I've been coming to Irene Skintopia for three years now, and I honestly can't say enough good things about this place. When I first came in, my skin barrier was in really bad shape from trying way too many products and doing way too much to my skin. They told me my skin barrier was super thin and needed a lot of TLC. After consistently coming here for the past three years, my skin barrier is SO much stronger, my skin is clearer, and so much more glowy. I only wear a tiny bit of concealer in my day to day and get SO many compliments on my skin now. This was not the case before and I owe it all to Joy (my facialist)! Joy is my facialist, and she is truly the best. I absolutely love seeing her and look forward to every facial. Her treatments feel like a combination of a lymphatic drainage massage, extractions, and LDM all in one. It's so relaxing, but at the same time, I always leave feeling like my skin has actually been taken care of and reset. She knows my skin so well and always knows exactly what I need. Anytime I have an emerging pimple, it completely disappears after my facial because of her work. I also get microneedling here about once a month or every other month, and it has completely transformed my skin texture. I really appreciate that they don't just do the same thing every time, they look at what my skin needs and will add things like red light therapy or whatever they think will help with healing and getting the best results. I also get Botox here, and this is genuinely the best place I've ever gone for Botox. I've had some pretty bad Botox experiences in the past, including in Korea, where I really hated how it looked. At Irene's, my Botox is always done very conservatively and naturally. I still look like myself, just more refreshed. And to top it off, the entire staff is amazing. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, and I especially love seeing Irene and Edward there. Every time I walk in, they greet me with the biggest smiles, and they are just the sweetest, nicest people. You can really tell that everyone here genuinely cares about their clients. After three years of coming here, I truly trust Irene's Skintopia with my skin. They've helped me repair my skin barrier, keep my skin clear, improve my texture, and maintain results that still look natural. It is worth every single penny, and I'm so grateful I found this place. I've been going to Irene's Skintopia about once a month, and Kelly always takes great care of my skin. My skin has become much more hydrated and has a healthy glow that I didn't have before. What I really appreciate is that even though I'm on a set treatment plan, Kelly still takes the time to check my skin each visit and makes small adjustments or suggestions based on how my skin is doing. I arranged appointment at Irene's Skintopia for my fiance. He formed 'millia' around both his eyes. I researched and called couple of other clinics, but they rejected, or saying that we have to make at least 3 appointments to remove them, which I felt like it was total scam. Irene's Skintopia made the appointments easy, and they were very friendly. I believe it was Irene herself who did the procedure: 15mins for cream anesthesia, and only few mins for actual removal of millia. She made it look easy peasy! :) I was able to see the procedure and staff helped record video of it, and we all laughed because it was like Dr.Pimplepoppers. AWWW It was so satisfying to see millia popping out like a ping pong balls. We squashed it and said ewww. lol. I am so sad about my experience. I've suffered with acne scarring for quite some time and have had occasional breakouts. I booked an appointment for microneedling back in January and had the worst breakouts imaginable. I've never had acne to this degree and it hurt my skin so bad. They said it was my skin purging and it will pass. It's now April and I'm still dealing with terrible acne. They offered for me to come back in for LDM facial to help but I had to pay $$ for this service and it didn't do anything to help my skin. It's really unfortunate since the staff are kind people but their equipment must be dirty in someway. Now dealing with the aftermath with my wedding coming up. pt 2. in response to your comment. i did not come back for multiple facials and the one time i did was after you offered me a treatment to help calm my skin, which i paid for and it was not helpful. i paid for a microneedling package before my first treatment and after my experience i didn't want to come back so you refunded me the remaining treatments. the spa is now texting me and being disrespectful to me. they are showing aggressive behavior and i'm so shocked to be spoken this way after my previous civil conversations with this spa. read more

Tried Irene's Skintopia after seeing all the glowing reviews on Tiktok. Booking was not too bad but I found that I had to book 2 months out. You are also required to put down a $50 deposit to secure your appointment. This location has plenty of parking which I appreciate, especially in LA. The place itself is nice but not super luxurious, which I didn't mind especially for the price of the facial. You are asked to change and remove your jewelry when they start your facial. I decided to get the brightening cryo ice zet + triple vitamin facial. It was $175 + tip. I felt like I got my moneys worth and everything felt amazing! They did so many things during my facial such as lymphatic massage, led lights, extractions and more. I had a bad experience with a facial once where they broke me out but I am very happy with my experience here and my face felt glowy and nice afterwards! Yumi who was the one doing my facial was super nice and told me my skin looked amazing already, which was extremely sweet! I don't think I noticed too much of a difference the week after with my face but I'm sure I just need to be consistent with my treatments and it's still a nice self care treat! I have been going to Irene's Skintopia medspa located in koreatown since August 2023, and I believe that this medpsa truly delivers an excellent experience and results as well amazing customer service. Whenever I walk in, I can feel how relaxed I become, the inside is setup in a way that you can calmly wind down. I appreciate how all the staff are adamant about keeping the ambience quiet and making sure that the background music is soft (enough to fall asleep to). The front desk staff especially (Edward) is always welcoming and knowledgeable, and even through texts messages and notifications, they are friendly and prompt with a follow-up response. I'm so happy to share that my skin is finally recovered after religiously following Ellie's recommended skincare routine and products. I posted a review after my first visit, and although I could immediately see the benefits after the first session, the positive effects continued to grow with time. Context: I had combo skin, and my skin barrier was severely damaged after a winter trip to Japan where I was not used to the cold, windy climate. My forehead became filled with closed comedones, and I had no idea how to clear them. I wanted to get a facial for the longest time, and this was the best place I found on Yelp. Not sure it did much for my face at all, but I got a hydro derm facial. Is supposed to hydrate and brighten. I don't think it did much of either, but my face odds pretty dull to begin with. But, it did feel nice. It was very calming and relaxing, I fell asleep for most of it! She did pop my pimple and it hurt, obviously. I got a laser treatment called Activo on my face and already see visible signs of hyperpigmentation fading and also less wrinkles around my eyes. I grabbed a Groupon for a 90min Intensive Acne Facial. I cross-referenced with Yelp and saw great reviews. HOWEVER, my visit left me very underwhelmed. I walked in and was greeted and asked to fill out a form. After a few questions and using the restroom, I was taken into the room. I walked in 5 mins before my session and was lying down 10 minutes after the start time in the same clothes I walked in with. They said I didn't need to change into a gown because it was an acne facial. I haven't been to many places, but that was a first. As a result, my shirt rode up to my neck during the so-called facial. The worst part was the towel they stuck in my shirt around my neck. It eventually started choking me. Even before I could say anything, she put an oxygen helmet over my face, which emminated blue light and disappeared for 10+ mins as I felt lethargic. When she came back in, I told the estitician that I was feeling claustrophobic and lightheaded. She responded that I needed 5 more mins and left the room again. She walked in while I was removing it myself. I told her I was lightheaded and claustrophobic, but she responded by saying that it's good for my skin, but it's okay. I don't think she understood the concept of claustrophobia because it's not okay. When I was done, I looked at the time and realized I really only did a 70 min facial. Don't get me wrong, the extraction facial was decent, and the estitician was nice... We just had some communication issues, and I didn't like being called "baby." I get that it's a term of endearment, but I just met you, and we're almost the same age... After she told me I was done, I went to the restroom, then went to the front where she suggested a package. I was glad she was not pushy or aggressive, but I was ready to leave as I was restless and irritable from being claustrophobic. I tipped and left... It was exactly 90 mins when I got inside my car. To tell you the truth, I didn't feel pampered, nor did I feel the acne facial was much more different from an acne facial I've gotten elsewhere. I never tried plasma but I can admit that I did not feel any burning or unpleasant sensations during and after the facial. I got a nice custom cooling mask with which I really liked it because it felt cooling and tingling at the same time. I was hesitant to write a review, but decided I should for anyone out there being talked into spending more than you should or being sold a facial that doesn't exist. I went to Irene's Skintopia on 3/20 and my facial was overall ok. I came here because of the high reviews on yelp, but I kind of regret spending so much money for this acne facial when they're usually $40-$50 less anywhere else. I did the intensive acne facial and Ellie was my esthetician. I felt kind of uncomfortable from the beginning because Ellie suggested a "new" kind of facial they have called the "plasma facial". It costs $200 vs my intensive acne facial that was $165. She said it would really help my skin and kill the acne causing bacteria. She then said she would use another machine, I can't remember, to then bring water to the surface. I asked if it was invasive and she said it wasn't. She told me it would just feel like light zapping on the skin. Luckily, I'm hesitant to try new things without research so i asked if she could show me the machine, when she showed me the "plasma" machine and it was literally a high frequency wand with a black handle. She said "I know it looks like high frequency but it's not!" I still said no and I told her I would do research and then maybe do it some other day. I was so confused because the only "plasma" facials I've heard are either use blood or are the plasma pen. After the facial, I googled EVERYWHERE online for "plasma facial" or "plasma facial looks like high frequency" and NOTHING comes up except for PRP vampire facials. They don't even have this facial listed on their website. After reflecting, I'm kind of convinced that the facial she was offering was a scam. $40 more for high frequency? Even when she described what it would feel like, she described the sensation of high frequency -- "a light zapping" I attached a picture of my high frequency wand at home and it looks EXACTLY like what she showed me. The only difference is the black handle. Later during the facial, I asked her what skin scaling was since it's mentioned on the website and she said oh it's the machine I did at the beginning (she didn't do a machine) and when I was confused, she was like "Oh sorry, I forgot! It doesn't do anything anyways ahhaha." That left me feeling even more uncomfortable. So do they list things for the intensive active facial as a scam? I also told Ellie that I was going to get a chemical peel a week after my facial and at the beginning she said that was a great idea, but by the end of the facial she was like "You should cancel your chemical peel and come back here in two weeks instead." I don't know, the whole facial ended up leaving me uncomfortable. Even a sulfur product they tried to sell me was 10-15$ more expensive than what is listed online. I feel like this spa got good reviews on yelp and then trended on tiktok and now people are willing to spend almost $200 thinking that an acne facial will be worth it when they are listed cheaper online with the same steps (LED, high frequency, mask, extractions...etc). I say the facial was ok because she did do a good job with extractions but I won't be coming back. ***edit: they had the photo I posted of my high frequency wand at home removed. I'll attach pictures of the explanation they sent me about the service that their business now offers for "plasma" if you look at the explanation and the wands shown it looks exactly like the NuDerma neon and argon gas high frequency wands. It's been a few days since my facial at Irene's Skintopia and I've genuinely noticed that my skin looks brighter, my pores look smaller, and my overall complexion is doing great! I am a skincare nut and and ultra perceptive to changes in my skin, good or bad or lack thereof, and I've had every type of experience under the sun - and I'd absolutely recommend this place! Edward is the owner who will also be the one who answers your call, books your appointment, and provides you a personalized consultation with treatment options when you come in. He's super friendly and really cares about his business, your experience, and your skin. I had a Brightening Cryo Zet Vitamin C facial with Yumi - she asked if I liked lymphatic massage and when I said yes she slid it into my treatment! I was really pleasantly surprised and satisfied with every step of the facial - there was deep cleansing, facial massage, extractions, serums, the cryo treatment (which felt SO good), a green tea mask at the end, and she applied sunscreen as well before I left at my request! I'm probably even forgetting some steps but all I know is there were many and I definitely felt I was getting my money's worth. Yumi even constantly complimented my skin, saying it was beautiful and she was jealous of how bright it already was which was super sweet. After my treatment we realized we both spoke Chinese, and she gave me some more compliments and package suggestions in Chinese. I will definitely be back and I'm really excited to try additional treatments. Before I left I booked a facial for my birthday with Edward :) If I were to give any constructive criticism, I'd say to maybe invest more in the beds - maybe a mattress pad and/or some additional pillows/cushioning could make them much more comfortable and nice, especially for longer treatments. On the day of the appointment, Irene explained everything thoroughly such as the aftercare and provided all the information of what to expect so there were no surprises. So I decided to try Irene's Skintopia because I get regular laser facials two times a month, but still wanted to have an additional, traditional facial every few months. I saw lots of amazing reviews on TikTok, and decided to check it out for myself! Everyone is very accommodating -- truly an amazing staff. They went over what they felt would be best for my skin based on an initial assessment. The experience is very different from traditional facials that I've had in the past. I feel like they understood what my skin needed and I left with absolutely glowing skin! Highly recommend. There was ONE downside- that really has nothing to do with my facial or the people working there. Parking is available- however when I went to park under the building (at a space labeled "Irene's skintopia") the security/ parking attendant started yelling at me. I had my windows up, but he kept coming towards my car. Once parked I rolled my window down and asked him to repeat himself because I couldn't be sure he was even addressing me. He continued to yell at me "what are you doing here!!???!!" Which I found odd - so I pointed to the parking label and said I was going to Irene's-- he then said "get out!" I was super confused but his tone and the yelling really concerned me. I basically didn't feel safe exiting my car (and he WAS telling me to get out!) so I left and had to park on the street. Unfortunately the only way inside the building is through the underground parking. So I did not feel comfortable parking on the street and then walking down there where he was sitting. So I contacted Irenes Skintopia. They were very kind and understanding. A technician came down and met me on the sidewalk so that she could walk me into the building. I don't think this should be a reflection on them as they aren't the people that hire the attendant. But it's worth noting to be careful and exercise caution. In the future, I will be taking a ride service so that I can avoid interactions with this individual. read more

I've gone to Paris to have facials done at Biologique Recherche; i'm a skin care fiend and I think I just had the best facial of my life at Irene's. The cleansing, the massage, it was all really nice ; my skin looks divine but what took the cake is the expertise and equipment they have here. Serious, medical grade stuff. I have rosacea. I originally went in trying to get Microneedling but she said "NO" and explained why that was a terrible idea for my skin. I was bummed. As she did a facial with lymphatic drainage massage she told me to try an LDM ultrasound machine. I'm glad I listened. It improved the texture/bumps caused by the rosacea and toned down the redness quite a bit, after just one treatment. I already made my next appointment. I am impressed. I recently wrapped up my services pack at Skintopia. I decided to do the 2 Scarlet facials (heads up, if you are super active like myself you will need to take 5-7 recovery days for these procedures, that's the only real con for me). Irene also did a microneedling treatment during my third session, and finally a cooling facial during my fourth session. Although my skin is a lot brighter, I had a set back with my hormonal acne towards the end. I don't blame procedure on it, but my skin apparently decided it was the right time to breakout. Irene suggested I go in for another microneedling treatment, however I am holding out on it until my skin clears up. In regards to the service and time she and her staff take, they go above and beyond. She makes you feel comfortable, and the whole place is clean to the spot. Even during the mask wearing, they made sure to always check temperatures, regardless of a customer's vaccination status. I didn't feel unsafe at all going in there and there was always parking in the business complex. I definitely plan on coming back to Irene for another session and would highly recommend her for any type of skin treatment. I had a mole removed that was a huge insecurity of mine and I had a pleasant experience at Irene's Skintopia. They put a numbing cream on me and then used a laser. It was a slight sting and actually quite ticklish. It was super tolerable! It has also healed up quite nicely. Staff are friendly and it is clean inside! Also, the designated parking is great. I had a wonderful experience at Irene's Skintopia. I just went for my very first PRP + microneedling session so I was a little apprehensive but their attention and care to the client is exceptional. I was educated and treated royally. There was a slight misunderstanding as far as pricing and they were perfectly gracious about it and also gave me an extra bonus of LED-light care. It's clear that the staff is absolutely dedicated, professional and devoted to their patients. They have a variety of treatments, all very reasonably priced.
