Ally was wonderful with both kitties. She sent us emails each day with a detailed update and incredible photos. After the first update, I knew our kitties would have a great week - with good attention and play each day with Ally. Ally also took care of the house - bringing in mail and lots of packages and watering the plants. Everything was in excellent order. As we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the staff members and were told that if we had any questions then they would be more than happy to assist. They also offered treats for our fur babies which is always a bonus! The store was neatly organized with plenty of walking space for owners and their pets to roam around. We came specifically for some birthday hats and accessories and were pleased to find it close to the entrance. As we were trying different hats, one of the employees Arrow offered to take some pictures of our birthday girl and told us that they offered a birthday goodie bag. We were delighted to hear this as who doesn't want to spoil their precious puppy on their special day? It took only a few minutes for them to get us a bag and Arrow also mentioned that we get 25% off treats, toys and food that could be used with the same year. What a steal! We decided to get them some hides (our dog picked them out for his sister and himself) and dog food. We came in for a birthday hat but left happily with much more. The genuine care for their customers and pets was very clear. We came here for 3 years. 2 1/2 we were told our dog is wonderful and behaves so well, then they changed their staff and all of a sudden my dog was treated badly and were told it's her behaviour. Meanwhile they send home report cards that say no incident. Also staff straight up say "you shouldn't bring your dogs here". I would avoid this place like the plague. I'm really heartbroken writing this…read more Daisy, my 14-year-old dog, came in for grooming and was returned looking clean... but clearly not herself. She didn't wag her tail, didn't come to me like she usually does, and was unusually quiet. Something felt off. That night she stayed calm at home, but the next morning, after just five minutes outside, she refused to walk. I noticed her paw was swollen and inflamed. The vet said it looked like trauma or possibly a burn around the nail bed, consistent with grooming-related injury. The salon later sent a photo of Daisy after the grooming, but it doesn't show her paws at all. That felt strange. When I called to share what happened and ask for accountability, the owner was cold, dismissive, and refused to take any responsibility or even acknowledge the concern. I'm not here to point fingers, but I do want to share my experience. Daisy is healing now, but this was and still is a painful and stressful experience for both of us. We have a new appointment at the vet.

We stopped in for some doggy hand treats, doing an exchange for more chicken based from a beef liver based that was harder to use. My daughter couldn't find her email receipt to do the exchange, but the cashier/associate was able to look up the purchase based on the phone number and do the exchange without much problem. It did take a bit of time, so I had the opportunity to walk around the large store. Besides pet supplies for cats and dogs, it also sells/services fish and reptiles, including live bait and food. There is a Banfield Pet Hospital inside as well. Banfield and PetSmart continue to have a partnership (even though PetSmart no longer owns Banfield). We used to use them for our dog years ago, and learned that Banfield really depends on the veterinarian or chief of staff at the clinic. To complete a pet owner's need, the location also has a 'doggieday camp' and petshotel (overnight). My daughter told me that since last year, the the petshotel no longer has an employee overnight on-site. I also learned that Chewy was at one point, owned by Petsmart, but they split apart into separate entities. Chewy (as primarily an ecommerce company) now has greater net sales than Petsmart (2023)...really shows how ecommerce in many cases has overtaken retail for product (i.e. food) that works well on a subscription model.
