Amy Leiker does amazing work but I cannot recommend this company to anyone…read more I have been a patient at Today's Dentistry for almost 10 years. The trouble started when I had a filling done last year and then moved shortly after. In the craziness of moving, I forgot to update my address with my dentist and the payment notices never made it to our new address. Instead of calling me (my phone number did not change), they sent my $58 account balance to collections. The collection notice came to my new address and the balance was paid immediately. Today we called to schedule our routine cleanings and were told that we are not allowed to come back since we had been sent to collections. Any normal person would see that the nonpayment was purely accidental and remove the hold on our account but, instead, they would rather stick to policy and see a loyal patient go. I can't believe that thousands of dollars spent on dental care and my glowing recommendations over the years didn't even buy us one ounce of good will. tldr; they care more about the money than their patients...

My mother's experience with Topeka Oral Surgery was one of the worst medical encounters we've had…read more I was in the room for the entire extraction. The dentist was rough and impatient; my mother was making noises from pain and clearly distressed. I stayed quiet to avoid escalating the situation, but the lack of compassion and gentle technique was obvious. During the procedure an assistant walked in from another room without gloves, handed the dentist an instrument, and he immediately placed it in my mother's mouth -- shocking and completely unsanitary. After the extraction my mother was left in severe pain. The assistant told us she had sent the prescriptions for pain medication and antibiotics, but when we went to the pharmacy nothing had been submitted. We waited in the parking lot for over an hour until the office returned from lunch and finally sent the scripts. This delay and the poor communication showed a dangerous lack of urgency for a patient in pain. Additionally, they kept my mother's original partials and never returned them despite requests. Given how unprofessional the process was, I have reason to suspect those partials may be reused or resold -- which would be both unethical and unsafe. These offices appear to coordinate with Michel Dental next door who referred my mother to them; my mother later received dentures from that practice that did not fit at all (oversized upper plate, uneven and painful lower plate). The combined experience felt exploitative and disrespectful. This was negligent, unsanitary, and deeply upsetting. I strongly recommend seeking care elsewhere -- find a provider who values hygienic practice, clear communication, and basic respect for patients, especially seniors.

If you must brave oral surgery then you would do well to visit Dr. Spear's, Topeka Oral Surgery…read more Usually a visit to the dentist for oral surgery is a somber experience but not here. There classic rock wafting throughout the office as you're greeted by a team who wrote the book on customer service. When you walk in to the room where you will meet the dentist, you will immediately notice the pastoral landscape from the giant picture window. The experience was pleasant even when i was numbed with three needles. Dr. Spear has a sharp but delightful sense of humor and there's no need for laughing gas when you have a Dentist with humor like this. Meg, his dental assistant is wonderful as well as she will reassure you all throughout the procedure. When it was finished a saw another assistant through the picture window feeding the wildlife as i stared through the big glass window. Squirrels, rabbits and birds were being cared for and you will be too. Cheers!

Go to FOX Dental, you wont regret it and will thank me later…read more Issues started with a couple crowns not being right which are still not right. Family friends children departed also due to incorrect crowns, which this office strangely has you sign contracts for the warranty on them so you cant leave. Over the years spent well over $6K with this office and was about to spend another several thousand $, but thankfully woke up and will spend that with a dentist who is more focused on great experiences rather than $. I began to notice this $ focus about the third cleaning when the hygienist constantly tried to upsell me. I had to switch hygienist it was so annoying, plus she was very aggressive on my teeth. Second, when asking questions on billing, the front desk lady Mona had a temper tantrum in front of customers. Final draw was when I went in for a service and was told it would be no charge on "3" different occasions, one while sitting in the chair. Next week, got a bill. Called to discuss it with Kelly who only returns calls when, you guessed it, $ is due. All that came of that convo was disregard of being told there would be no charges and repeating argument that all services are ran through insurance and the bill is due. All around poor experience, poor attitudes, lack of knowledge of crowns, and $ over customer experience.

It was our first visit there as we are new to Lawrence and we had an excellent experience. We were treated as if we had been regulars. Taylor did my x-rays Zander cleaning. She explained everything as she went along and went over the x-rays with me. I really appreciated that. Then Dr. Keith Jones visited, checked each tooth and pointed out any problem spots out on the x-rays also. He discussed any problem areas and answered my questions. I was very impressed with everyone's friendly, helpful mannerisms. I would definitely recommend Lawrence Dental Centre if you need a dentist in Lawrence, KS.

The office is located in a dingy mostly shut down shopping mall. They offer you a "dental benefit" plan that is only accepted at their location for their services. You will have to call the third party company each time to verify your "benefits" before they see your child, because they don't keep any information on file. They tell you that you can stay with your child. Then they shuffle your kid from room to room and make it difficult or they tell you that you have to wait in a booth where you can see your kiddo but they can't see you. Multiple kids? Good luck. You'll be asked to sign paperwork with dollar amounts and procedures you aren't getting that day. If you ask anything or protest, They tell you you "just have to sign it" and that it's "just their procedure". They make it abundantly clear that they require payment at the time of service. Multiple kids? They have to run your card separately. When you pay, they still bill you by mail in 30 days. You have to call a call center, get transferred 5 times, before you can talk to someone who treats you rudely and acts like you didn't pay your bill until you "prove it". Mistakes happen, but by the 3rd or 4th time, that's not a mistake. It's intentional and they're hoping you won't have receipts or follow through. Even when you follow up and clear things every time, they may send you to collections 6 months later and you have to prove it all over again. Absolute Nightmare. When you get a real dentist, you'll have to call the call center again 5 times to ask and ask for records to be faxed over. Good luck. You'll also receive calls and texts "reminding you" to make appointments "right away" and guilting you to get your kids scheduled, urging you "not to wait" because your kids deserve the care that you've already gotten from a real dentist at a real office.
