I was unhappy with the glasses, and the bifocal. The glasses were 3 days past the return date, but they graciously made new pair with new frames read more

Busy waiting room. Doctor was professional & did a thorough exam. Was referred by my optometrist. Will keep going here.

Gave us wrong prescription for glasses when we went back & wanted a different dr to check prescription they said no but they could massage the wrong one previously written. It was completely wrong & couldn't see. Never go here!! After speaking with neighbors who've gone - 2 others can't see out of prescription received from this dr as well. Definitely not qualified! read more

Really quick exam as if anything is good enough. The waiting room was depressing and the fleeting exam was overpriced.

The office is busy but very friendly. The problem I had with an eye infection was handled swiftly and gave me the relief I needed.

Tried for two weeks to contact this location only to hear from a neighbor that this office is closed.

They charge a 280 fee for a "contact lens fit" which insurance companies don't pay, for obvious reasons. After explaining I don't need to fit a lens I already been using for over 6 years he said he won't give me my contact lens Perscription without me doing a fit check that I have to pay for out of pocket. Never in my 30 years of wearing lens or glasses have I experience this. I explained I'm a single mom that supports the whole household and can't afford a 280 fee.....for this especially, and he still refused to give me the prescription. It's disgusting to me honestly. Now I have to go to another doctor office to get my contact prescription. After taking the time off work to be here, this was a huge waste of my time. I advise to go somewhere else and keep your money. Other practices don't do this.... read more

Southwestern Eye Center - Optometrists Near Me - Coolidge, Arizona

I was informed when I arrived that I had a copay. I explained that I met my out of pocket so I should owe nothing. The receptionists replied "but you have a copay." They obviously don't understand how insurance works. They refused to see me for my medical eye appt if I didn't pay. Now I have to go through the hassle of going through snail mail to get my money back through my insurance company. Don't understand why they wouldn't call their business office and explain the situation and see that once an out of pocket is met that they honor it. I even showed them the insurance page that indicated that it was met and nothing should be collected and I called the insurance company as well. read more

Had to have an urgent appointment with Southwestern eye center. Was advised to come asap. And was treated exceptionally well. From walking in the door to preparing basic information, and then seeing Dr.Walker; truly great care. Dr. Walker examined my eye, asked questions about my history, and listened when I spoke to him. Very nice to be heard. You all know what I mean. Highly recommend Southwestern Eye center and Dr. Walker and the staff in Coolidge. read more

The customer service was wonderful. The Staff and doctor were knowledgeable and helpful to work with.

Southwestern Eye Center is a place you don't mind waiting for an appointment. Although the waiting time did interfere with my solitaire game as I barely got it started when I went back for the exam. Anyway EVERYONE working in the Cooledge office are wonderful in all regards, so relaxed and oh so friendly. And the doctor actually talked to both my husband and I he'd ask a question and look at you as you answer. A great Dr office atmosphere. Enjoy! read more

This was my first time to go to the southwestern Eye Center. My technician and my doctor were very professional and very informative. They didn't take my Humana insurance, so I elected to self pay. I was so happy to have them discount my exam 50% for being uninsured. Wow! After 2020, I am so thrilled to have had my eyes tested and receive my new RX. I am going back on Monday to select frames and lenses. It is rather difficult to see when your eyes are dilated. Looking forward to seeing the ladies again read more

The office staff was very friendly and although we are dealing with Covid, I think the appointment time went very good and I'm very pleased with this clinic. Definitely a five-star place. read more

Went to 5 other eye doctors in Phoenix and Casa Grande and nobody could figure out what was wrong with my eyes. This was after multiple visits. Then I went to Southwest Eye Care in Coolidge with Dr. Louis. He figured my eye problem the first visit there. He explained everything so I could understand it. Really appreciated it. read more

Good service, the Dr. takes his time and makes sure that any concerns are addressed. Ordering new glasses is also made easy.

LADIES' AND GENTELMEN: The doctors here are fine, no complaints but this is not the place to purchase eye glasses! I have been wearing glasses for 65 years, replacing them on average of every two years, so I have a little experience. I made a very bad decision to order them here the last time and boy was that a mistake. First they were twice as expensive as any that I have ever purchased before for the same Trifocal Transition lenses, over $600, took 3 weeks to get, then they were 50% heavier then my old ones. After having them about two weeks they melted when I got Brake Cleaner on them. I have always had classic cars that I work on from time to time and have used brake cleaner most of my life to clean parts, not only had this never happened before but I actually use the stuff to clean gunk off my glasses. I took these back to SWE and was told they would remake them and would check with the place that made them before to find out what material my old ones were made of. (I had offered to demonstrate washing my old glasses with the same solvent for the lady but she declined ) About 3 weeks later I picked up the new glasses and was told they were the same material as before and that she had called Vision Center and confirmed they used the same Polycarbonate material and these would melt too and she tore up the warranty, said they would not remake them again. SO IF YOU EVER WORK ON CARS OR USE ANY SOLVENT LIKE BRAKE CLEANER, LAQUER THINNER OR A LADY WHO USES ACITONE TO REMOVE FINGER NAIL POLISH, DO NOT BUY YOUR GLASSES HERE!!! Now I am out over $600 on glasses that are so heavy they slide down my nose, (glass lenses may not have been heavier) can not be used when working on cars and that I will be replacing with new ones at the vision Center in Walmart or Costco with what I have been wearing for the last several decades that WILL NOT MELT WHEN WASHED WITH BRAKE CLEANER, LAQUER THINNER, ACETONE or many other solvents. My Wife also had reading glasses made for her here that are so thick and heavy she won't wear them either as they keep sliding down her nose. read more

I was day tripping in the area and stepped on my glasses. Google lead me here and I couldn't be happier. It was tight against the lunch hour but the technician took the time to do a repair and literally saved my day. Thanks for the free service. read more

Very prompt and friendly. I had a 10:20 appointment and the office was apparently short staffed by the office chatter. I was in and out within an hour despite the shortage and I was given an apology by the front desk, the tech and even the Doctor. Very satisfied and will return. read more

The doctor and staff are great and very good at scheduling my appointments. They are good in telling me when to get referral renewed and scheduling any surgeries and keep me informed of my eye health. Not to mention overall health. I would recommend this team to anyone with eye concerns. They also have several locations to make serving you even more convenient. read more

The doctors here are wonderful. I would give this practice 5 stars except for one thing - the waiting. Every time I have come here, I have had to wait at least three hours. Can't patients' appointments be scheduled in a better way? I overheard patients talking in the waiting room, and three of them had the same appointment time as I did, with the same doctor read more

I was treated with kindness and respect. I would recommend Southwest Eye to my family and friends. Thank you

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Ethington was very kind and took time to answer my questions.

I have been having very unusual eye problems for quite a while. I wear bifocals for reading and distance, but not real strong. A common problem for people my age. However, my eyes were definitely doing odd things, but only occasionally. It would come and go where I literally couldn't read or see very far. Well, as odd as my symptoms were, Dr. Ethington had me diagnosed with a treatment plan and instructions for my PCP to test for a specific, rare disease that could be causing all these vision problems. (My right eye went completely blind while he was testing my vision, and he knew immediately how to bring it back!) Needless to say, I was so scared and not only did he ease my anxiety, he instructed me how to care for my eyes until I can get in to my PCP and have her test for this rare disease and get on a treatment plan. And it worked! I am doing so much better in just 1 day. I highly recommend Southwestern Eye Center and Dr. Ethington. read more

I'm sorry to be giving a poor review, but I believe future patients need to know they may encounter some unnecessary problems. I was told cataract surgery was simple and painless. I'll be looking for an opthamologist who uses numbing eye drops rather than lower eyelid injections with lidocaine. After five weeks I still have a bruise. The worst part is the lidocaine wore off before the procedure was complete. They left me for more than 45 minutes after the numbing injection, and by the time they wheeled me into the OR the numbing was wearing off, so I felt the extraction of the cataract. Following the procedure the Tylenol I took didn't have time to take effect and for the next twelve hours, 3:00 pm to 3:00 am, I felt like I had an ice pick in my eye. I had lasik eye surgery 13 years ago; numbing eye drops were used. My opthamologist in WA state says he hasn't used lidocaine injections for 15 years because the eye drops are safer for the patient. I learned this after the fact. I'll have my left eye done elsewhere. My follow up appointments have gone well with Dr. Jackson and the staff in Coolidge & Casa Grande have been great. I went to the Mesa surgical facility for the surgery and won't be going back. read more
