They were very friendly and did not try to "sell" me on any kind of procedure. After choosing to go with them I scheduled my surgery and they did the rest! The process was very smooth and they assured me every step of the way. It has now been almost a year since I had the procedure completed and my vision is better than 20/20! I cannot believe I waited so long to get the Lasik Eye Surgery completed. Laser eye surgery was something that I had always wanted to do but was too nervous to let anybody mess with them. First, all employees and doctors I met were friendly and professional. They did make small talk but they have patient contact and work flow down to a science. From the time you enter and check in to the time you walk out the door it is obvious this is a well oiled machine. I had read that their eyeglass prices where a tad on the pricey side so asked for a copy of my prescription so I could do some comparison shopping on my own which was provided. They are in an older strip mall which has lots of empty parking spaces so plenty of parking. Waiting room is large and has semi comfortable chairs ( it is a waiting room after all) The only negative I can point out was that the waiting room chairs where not sanitized after each person was called into the exam area which is a pet peeve of mine during this time of COVID precaution madness. But when I got my glasses (from Costco) something was off, they recommended I get a recheck on the prescription. When I went back to SEC and spoke with the young lady in the optical department, and described the problem, and I'd like a recheck to verify the prescription...that where things went unprofessional. Instead of a "let's figure this out" she immediately wanted to pin the blame on Costco. Then she sat at her computer and tapped out a novel in the notes...finally she sent me to the front to schedule a recheck. When I came for my recheck with Dr. Rollins, he came into the room and he seemed a little annoyed that I was back for recheck. No "let's figure this out" no "it's your eyesight, we want to get it right," just "attitude." During the recheck, he actually voiced his annoyance expressing how I was taking up his time that could be for someone else's appointment....very unprofessional. When I took the new prescription back to Costco, they redid them. After the glasses came back, although a bit better, something is still off, especially trying to read text. I'm done with Southwestern Eye Center.

The doctors here are excellent optometrists. Just be aware that they will always try to sell you on getting retinal imaging which is not covered by vision insurance. I happen to have medical reasons to get this done, but no one ever spends the effort to ask if I would like to use my medical insurance to cover it. If you want to save another doctors' appointment, it might be worth $59, but you may have to demand they submit to you should check your insurance coverages. I decided to save this type of exam for an ophthalmologist for their scope of practice. The lobby has many brand names of eye frames to choose from. Every year I ask if they have "asian fit" options or brands and they have yet to add to their selection. I was told they have some of those brands at the "other" office. When I asked about ordering from the catalog (I happen to know exactly what brand and style would work), they were kindly able to order it for me. However, when I inquired about the cost, it is clear there is a significant uncharge for their "broker" fees. You might consider just ordering the same frame cheaper from many options available online for the exact same thing. You are basically paying extra so you can try it on in person. It is coincidental that it will also be just above what your vision insurance covers. Overall, the eye care that is delivered by the optometrists here is great. I have always received excellent care from them. The extra services and add-ons should be carefully considered for the value if you so choose. Also, this medical complex has becoming increasingly busy and it is often much harder to find parking each year. You might need to allow a few extra minutes to circle around to find a spot so you are not late to your appointment.
