My optometrist has been keeping an eye on (pun intended) my developing cataracts for a couple years…read moreand this spring proved to be time for surgery. My optometrist recommended Dr. Laurence Kaye and Tucson Eye Care, the doctor and office she sent her mom to. The soonest appointment was in three weeks, when my eyes were measured and tested and then I met with Dr. Kaye, the surgeon. He explained the procedure and my options. Medicare covers lens replacement, but for additional cost I could upgrade to eliminate my astigmatism and achieve 20/20 vision near and far, and not need glasses or contacts. Seemed like quite a plan. Well, today was my final post-operative checkup. I have better than 20/20 vision and couldn't be more pleased. All the technicians, office staff, Dr. Kaye, and Dr. Siekert were kind, informative, caring, and supportive. The actual procedures were done at the Camp Lowell Surgery Center, which has the same quality of compassionate care as the Tucson Eye Care. I could not have asked for a better experience or outcome and HIGHLY recommend.

This office is always packed; I see Dr. Wright. The other review indicated that she was robotic…read more I concur with that opinion. She pops in and out and gives you the facts. I take the first available appointment, usually 7:15am. Today I waited more than one hour to be seen and the office staff were not friendly. Several of us scheduled for the same time and the same Dr.

THE GOOD, my wife and I have been going to Eye Associates of Tucson for many years. We started when…read moreI needed cataract surgery. The surgeon and staff were excellent and the results were better than I expected. Since then I have gone for an annual follow up visit as recommended by the doctors. At the appointment we schedule for the following year. I have been going in January. My wife in February. THE BAD, January, 2025 the examining doctor wanted to schedule me for my next visit in six months. I asked why as I have no lingering issues. He agreed that there was no need for a second visit last year. As the time for my visit in January 2026 rolled around I received a call and text telling me I needed to have my primary care doctor write a referral as we were no longer covered by our insurance, as Eye Associates of Tucson are now an out of network provider. I called them back telling them that I would wait until I had my annual physical with my primary care doctor so she could refer me to an in network provider. February 19, 2026 was my wife's scheduled appointment. Because I had received a call and text she suspected that the same could be true for her. She called, texted, and left a phone message asking if she needed a referral. There was no response from Eye Associates of Tucson. At the appointed time my wife went to her appointment. There she was told that she needed a referral. The female clerk told her that they could see my wife today for her exam, pay her co-pay, and then my wife could send in the referral. My wife declined, saying that we would allow our primary care doctor to refer us to an in network provider. Here are my beliefs: * The eye doctor at Eye Associates of Tucson knew in advance that there was a possibility that he would not get me for a patient in January 2026, thus wanting to schedule me twice in 2025. Possibly paid an incentive for scheduling patience for two appointments per year. * When Eye Associates of Tucson started calling patients who were as of 2026 now out of network many if not all did as I did, telling the employee of Eye Associates of Tucson that they will wait for a referral from their primary care doctor. * Thus, with a poor response from existing patients Eye Associates of Tucson stopped calling with the hopes of getting patients in the office who would agree to see the doctor for their scheduled appointment not knowing if their primary care physician would give them a referral to Eye Associates of Tucson. Finally, the communication system at Eye Associates of Tucson is broken. The voice mail instructions told my wife to leave a message and or text a message. She did both without a response. My wife asked me, "What if there was an emergency?" My response was, "Call 911." She then pointed out that there are other emergencies that do not require a 911 call yet a response is required.

Had cataract surgery done by Dr. Diesenhouse. No problem and my vision is suprt. The supporting…read morestaff ie: optometrists and techs are all great. I would highly recommend this office.
