For $6,000.00 with $3,000.00 down payment. I informed Ed and Melissa Mitchell that I wanted to watch the porch demo. I was told that work would start at 9:30am on Thur. Sep.12,2024. I was on site at 10:00am. The crew did not show up until 12:00pm. When they arrived they ate lunch and started work at 1:00pm. I sat in my truck, which I parked across the street, beginning at 10:00am when I arrived and watched the whole time. Instead of demoing the porch they worked on installing the 4x4 post. By around 2:30pm I became concerned that they were not demoing the porch. I called Melissa and asked what was going on and she told me Ed had decided to go another way. Ed had not come with the crew and I asked to talk to him. Melissa informed me Ed was running late, but was on his way. Edward arrived at 3:00pm. I told him I wanted to know what was going on and he informed me he just wanted to put a 4 inch cap on the porch. I told him that is not what I wanted and that was not our agreement. He then started to try and convince me that he had done it at another location and it worked out ok and that he would give me a lifetime warranty. I told him no, I wanted what we had agreed to. Ed then stated that he could have his crew start over, but he was going to lose all the man hrs. his crew had already did and that he would have to redo the four 4x4 post. He keep on telling me how good the cap was and that he would give me a lifetime warranty. I told him a lifetime warranty would not do me any good if he died or went out of business. Ed had not mentioned anything about reducing the price of $6,000.00. I stated that if he just did a cap he was going to use a lot less materials and labor and that he would have to reduce the price. He stated he could reduce it by $300.00. I stated that he would have to do a lot better than that. He then stated he could reduce it by $500.00. I told him I would have to think about it. I went inside the house and made a phone call to a friend who has some building experience and he stated he did not think the cap would hold up account the porch is hollow underneath. I went outside and told Ed I did not want the cap. Ed started the routine about how he put a cap on another porch and how well it worked and the lifetime warranty. He keeps at it until I finally agree to just the cap, but I told him he would have to reduce the price by $1000.00, which Ed agrees to. By now it is about 3:30pm and I go home. Ed stated that it was too late to pour concrete and they would leave by 5:00pm. The next morning I get up at 8:00am, I did not sleep very well account I felt I was not only talked into just a cap, but that the cap was not going to last account of the porch Ed was going to put the cap on was hallow underneath. Then I realized if Ed put a 4 inch cap on, the step would be 11 inches high. I called Melissa and told her they would have to add another step to comply with code. She said they already reduced the price by $1,000.00 and that if I wanted another step I would have to pay for it. My cousin was having some concrete work done at his house, so I called and talked to the man doing the work. I explained what was going on and did he think it was ok to put a cap on a porch that was hollow underneath. He said no, but it would be better if he looked at it. I told him I would pay him to look at it and that I could pick him up and take him to the site. I picked up Mr. Guzman who is a Master Brick Mason and took him to the site. After looking over the site, he stated that the material that was on Ed's work trailer was a light mix used for stucco. He also stated that if you were going to try and hold together a failing porch with a cap you would need 12 inches not 4. Now I feel like I have been scammed. Ed made a decision to go from what was in the contract to just a cap without so much as a phone call. We went from a complete demo and rebuild to a 4 inch cap of stucco on top of a failing porch that is hollow underneath. I called Ed and told him I no longer trusted him and I had lost all faith in him. I also told him I did not want him to do any further work. Ed's reply was that he had $3,500 invested, but he was good guy and would let the $500.00 slide. Your crew worked 4 hrs. on the Sep.12,2024 and 2-hrs on the Sep.13, 2024. You are a crook and I do not see how you sleep at night. Thank God sent an angel to lead me to Mr. Guzman before I ended up with a 4 inch stucco cap.

Five Star Foundation was hired to do a leveling job for the church. Question..Am I wrong to expect…read morea company to show up when they say they will, and work a full day on a job they are getting paid to do? Instead, the church keeps getting rescheduled time and time again. When they finally show up, they work a couple of days and then don't come back until almost a week later. When I question this and express dissatisfaction, I 'm given a laundry list by Cody of all the things he has happening and what's going on with his crew as to why he can't get my job done now. Week after week, the job gets delayed by Cody. The church has a big event coming up, and I explain to Cody that I need to get this job done in a reasonable time. Now he accuses me of rushing him. Over a month later, when the job is said to finally be complete, it is inspected and discovered all the blocks underneath is done wrong. He fixed part of it, and left the church with the expense of repairing the rest of what we had already paid him for. The church requested part of our money back. Cody has gone silent. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

This company has since changed all their numbers, their website, has an additional new website, and their service areas no longer includes Houston. (They have 2 listings on yelp.) We attempted to chat with them on the new website, sent through their request form a follow up on the termination and refund still owed, tried calling the new number, they did not respond back initially. After more unfavorable reviews were posted, we were told twice that they "wanted to make this right" and we would get a refund. In fact, they wanted us to sign an agreement to stop posting unfavorable reviews of their company and remove current ones to get our refund. We still have not been refunded any of our money. Check out other review sites, (I can provide a large listing.) There are multiple complaints on this company and by others that have been treated similarly. KPRC2 (Click2Houston) also has done a couple of news story on this company for the complaints.

We made an agreement that we would work with the company to select the color since we were buying the house. We talked to the owner about the flooring and got great promises. The pictures on the website are all without imperfections, but I have been informed that imperfections are allowed for in the contract. Unfortunately the work done on the floors came out with a multitude of big white splotches and scratches and the owner is now saying that the big white scratches are part of the "decorative imperfections" and not terrible scratches where the stain did not take. See the pictures as they do not look like those on the website. I am so disappointed in what we thought would be a beautiful floor. Buyer beware!

We requested a few estimates actually, we were interested in how much it we would save by laying the decking boards ourselves, and how much it would be if we skipped the roof. They were quick to reply with a detailed estimate for all of the variations we asked for. We ended up having them only do the deck framing and they did a fantastic job! I appreciated the fact that they cleaned up their work area every day before they left, never leaving a mess when they were done. I was particularly impressed with the effort that they took to answer all the questions I had while they worked, even making a point to give me various tips and details that would be helpful when I went to lay the decking boards later. Their advice was invaluable! I have the strong impression that they care about both the quality of their work and reputation and were invested in the final product being as good as possible even though I wasn't paying them to do the entire job.
