Gail Cloud, owner of Southwest Moving & Relocation, in St. George Utah, is a thief, a fraud and a liar. THIEF: He has kept my Baldez stationary exercise bicycle, expensive Honda pressure washer and other miscellaneous items. He has admitted, via text message, to having these items and promised to return them. It has been almost a year now and has not returned them and is not responding to my text messages. Taking and keeping what is not yours I believe is stealing. In my opinion Gail is a thief. FRAUD: I paid him close to $900 as part of the contract to insure my 4 cars, one a classic, and all of my personal belongings and furniture. During the move one of my cars had paint damage and other items were broken or damaged. I requested an insurance claim form for the damages. His response was that he failed to pay the insurance premium and now he has no insurance. So, what happened to my $900 insurance payment to him? In my opinion this is fraud. LIAR: He promised to send me an insurance claim form which he has not done so to date and now we know why not. He frequently promises you one thing and fails to fulfill what he has promised. We just moved to St. George and used All My Sons on the SLC side to help us move huge pieces of furniture into our trailer (they price gouged us.. ouch) Gail sent two men out ~ UBERT showed up early and we were and are so impressed with this man! I am basing this review on three factors : Cost, Communication, and satisfaction of service. I am not sure where the current great reviews came from but our experience was not good and you should be weary before using this company. Situation: We needed no more than 12 items moved out to our garage, then back in following carpeting being laid on the main floor of our house. All a items were on the ground floor. Out the front door and into the attached garage. This was a small job. Cost: We were charged $600 for four hours of time (including their drive time??!!!) of which we actually saw them on site for less than 3 hours in total. He wanted the money all up front and the company did not have an invoice, we had created one to document the work. Communication: My wife had to continually call Gail and get confirmations of times for the two days, and updates when they were late. His team ended up showing up on Sunday morning for the job that should have been completed by Saturday. The communication was poor and they did not show up on time. If you like to know when to expect your movers.....it will not happen with this company. Satisfaction of service: The movers were short at least one person for the pieces being moved back into the house Sunday, as a result one large entertainment center had a leg snapped off (which they attempted to repair), one of the door jams was damaged moving furniture into the room and the two guys struggled with a couple of the heavier pieces. I chose these guys based on good reviews posted by others. I was looking for the people who moved me before, but they seemed to have disappeared, so I had to take my chances. Gail and his crew were fantastic! I moved from St. George to Henderson, with one quick stop to drop off my antique reed organ for safe keeping with my cousin.* They showed up on time, treated my belongings as if they were their own, and were friendly and professional the whole way through. And FAST! I had packed everything myself and put color tags on them for what would be stored and what should be accessible, and they followed instructions really well. Very customer service oriented, even when you're moving to the second floor! I highly recommend them. Tip your movers! *It turned out the mover Gabe went to school with my cousin's son, Tyler. Gayle moved my daughter to North Carolina and me to Hurricane in December. When they were moving a nightstand from upstairs, it broke loose from the dolly and crashed to the bottom of the steps. Gayle offered to fix it which I was ok with. I called and texted several times and he indicated he was busy and hadn't gotten around to it yet. After three months I went by and picked it up and had someone else repair it. I had the bill sent to him. Now he feels he shouldn't have to pay for it. They worked hard to get us moved and I really appreciated them working with our timeline, but if he offered to repair the nightstand, he should have honored his commitment. Toni L. read more

Moved us from St. George to Prescott, AZ. Gail was awesome (as were the two workers in SG) and the one that came with him to Prescott. Everything arrived in perfect condition. Very diligent in their packing, every piece of furniture was wrapped in a blanket. His price was significantly lower than the other one we got. Came same day I called for estimate. I have a really hard time believing all of the 5-star ratings for Gail and Southwest Moving. My experience was that Gail stated originally it would take two days to pack up my belongings. He then tells me he has a better crew and that he can pack in one day. Gail worked hard packing the truck and them wanted an extra $1300 because we had so much. I asked Gail when my belongings would be arriving in KS and he shrugs and gave me defeated look and did not answer. Of course my belonging did arrive a week after they were supposed to be here. I did get to hear about Gail's personal problems on packing day, and of all the stuff they could not pack in the truck. Arrival day, Gail's employee, Jim was in charge. Jim was everything Gail is not, and surely his presence is the only reason Gail has a business. There was a large crew here to unpack the truck, however, they would not start working until they were paid another $150, which Gail refused, so that came out of my pocket. After everything was unloaded, I made sure to check that my guns had arrived, and a 12-gauge shotgun was missing from its carrier. Gail denied anyone of his crew stole the gun, however, Gail's crew was a group of strangers that work in a labor pool and he does not know any of them, but none the less he can assure me that no one stole my gun. Dealing with Gail over this problem was amazing as he would jump around the issue even to the point of claiming repeatedly that I took my own guns, up until the point that Jim straightened him out. In addition to the theft, one of my large screen televisions was broken, along with many other items. I can see that Gail could be perceived as personable, but I had a chance to see his other side and he is not the type of person anyone would want to do business with!!! I was very pleased with Southwest Moving and Relocation! I had to book a moving crew on relatively short notice (about five days). Gail was very responsive and helpful in getting an appointment setup. On the morning of the move, the crew showed up five minutes early. The crew was excellent. They were fast, efficient and careful. Moving from California is almost impossible these days as so many people are moving at the same time. All movers in California quoted Late March as soonest time they could move me! Escrow was closing January 30th and I had to be out of my Anaheim home by then! Even recommended movers in other states could not move me, until I thought, "Since I'm moving to Saint George, Utah, why not use a mover from there." I had already given away all of my furniture as it was looking bad for moving out of California. So I contacted Gail and voila, he could have me moved out of Commiefornia on the 30th of January! I had more than 70 boxes of stuff accumulated and various items like an electric bike and fans, etc. ready for moving! Gail and his crew showed up Earlier than expected and were very thorough and professional! They are very friendly as well and actually helped my slow ass get the rest of my stuff packed! They only took an hour to get loaded up and on their way! Two days later they arrived in Saint George as agreed and were Early once again! They were done in about 40 minutes! Dang, these guys are super prompt! And the whole move was priced much lower than I thought it would be! (Note: Remember that I packed 70 boxes myself and had everything ready in Blitzkrieg style over 4 days and Friends took the furniture. Just in case you might think moves are always cheap!) We were very happy and lucky to have Southwest Moving and Relocation complete our short move from the house we sold to the home we rented. In addition, they moved us from the home we rented to our new location across the country. The estimated prices provided were either at or below the actual cost. There were no "hidden" fees like many other companies have a tendency to apply. We were extremely pleased with the care that the movers took while wrapping items with extra blankets and padding. The movers were efficient and capable. We even had our car moved on the same load and we experienced no issues. I have had to move several times in the last few years. Gail Cloud and Southwest movers were the first ones who did a great job at a fair price. They picked up and delivered when they said they would, and took care of everything.. I was so used to bad movers that I was amazed at the work they did. There are a lot of not so good movers out there, and its really hard to pick out a good one, as there is not much good information to go on, even on the net. This is a little late, but we were so busy with remodeling our house. We used Southwest Moving for a move from Valley Center in San Diego County, California to Washington, Utah. Gail, the owner is very responsive to your questions. He was also flexible with our delivery, when we found out that the previous owners of the house we bought were not completely moved out on the original day we scheduled. We also could only fit so much stuff in the size truck that would fit on our country road, and Gail arranged that we could deliver the rest of our stuff to a semi truck he had waiting up North, an hour and a half away. He offered a good price and was as careful as could be with stuff packed to the max from floor to ceiling. No major damage occured considering the situation. If you are moving to Southern Utah, this is the best company to call! read more
