Southwest Mobility and Joe Dudek-Service Tech is AMAZING ON SO MANY LEVELS! I went with my brother in law to inquire about selling one of his scooters. Southwest Mobility informed us that they couldn't buy any scooters at this time. In the meantime my brother in law decided to keep his scooter bc of all of the helpful information this place and Joe gave us. He was INCREDIBLY KNOWLEDGEABLE and has been in the industry since 1985. He educated my brother in law on all 5 of his scooters and we ended up leaving the scooter he originally wanted to sell and is having service on it. We are also going to bring all of his other scooters in to have various things done. It was so nice of Joe to spend time helping us even though a sale wasn't happening. The Air Hawk is just great .Purchased it in Apr 2022, Works fine plenty of range for me and lots of power. Been very dependable and I love it. Frank Although ,I've been looking on line with Discover your mobility and saw the Eagle HD and liked some of the features ,like larger wheels, small springs to absorb road conditions and the ease of folding. Think about trading the Air Hawk toward the Eagle HD. The people at Southwest Sun City were just wonderful on the original purchase of the Air Hawk and made it very easy. Great people. read more

Update One Year Later: They said that my batteries needed to be replaced. They have been working fine and holding the charge like the day they were made, one year later! They said that the gearbox couldn't be fixed and will stop working at any time. That "any time" happened this month . . . one year later! These people have proven themselves to be liars or wholely incompetent. read more

Great experience at the Sun City location! I was running late so didn't get there until shortly before closing. The first thing Joe said to me was he hopes that I have some time to really look at the various options to make sure I get the right one for us. He then proceeded to educate me on the various options and things to consider. I changed my mind a few times and he was so patient! Ended up getting 2 mobility scooters (for my Mom and Dad). Plus, they do repairs and order items when they do not have the size in stock that you need. Their prices are reasonable and their staff are pleasant to work with. I debated how to rate this store, because they were friendly, and I believe they did want to help me with the repairs I needed for my 12 year old Amigo scooter. Unfortunately, their mode of internal operation (failure to clearly communicate with each other; failure to write specific repair needs down) led to a real goat rope of problems. I took in my scooter to have the left back tire replaced, as it had developed a permanent flat side (which they said was due to it having been parked in one spot for over a year - although the other 2 tires were fine). A new tire was $60. When I drove my scooter the next day, it still went ka-thunk, ka-thunk, and the left tire looked like it had NOT been replaced. When I took it back, they and I discovered (just about at the same moment) that the RIGHT (not left) tire had been replaced. At that time, they still had my original tire (which was OK), andthey had dug it out of the dumpster to show me that they had indeed changed the tire for a new one (albeit on the wrong side). Later that day, they called me to tell me that my old tire had been thrown away (again), and the trash had been collected, and they were going to have to put ANOTHER new tire on the scooter, but since it was their fault, they'd only charge me half price for the tire, and no labor. I've been told by others they should have given me the second tire for free, but by then, I was ready to just be done with the whole process. When within a few days after having 2 new back tires, my Amigo began making skritch-skritch-skritch sounds, I returned. The first time they "greased the wheels," and the sound went away... for 2 days. I went back, but the (presumably) oldest staff member said, "Bring it back in when it's worse; I can't really hear it that well." My next visit, he said, "I dunno. Some wheels just make that noise." (Time to look for another repair source.) So, in conclusion, Mr. Southwest Mobility and staff, my suggestions: 1) Write down what your customer needs/requests when they drop off their equipment. You already ask for name and phone number; it would only take an additional 30-90 seconds to note what needs to be done, so faulty memory or communication doesn't cause additional problems. 2) If the scooter is an older model, with which you're unfamiliar, admit you don't have the knowledge base to address the problem, and refer your customer to a company that does. My recommendation: AZ Lifts 4 Less in Mesa, whose owner has a great deal of expertise, and who fixed the grinding problem in under an hour by removing built up rust from and polishing the steel wheel hubs. read more

I am writing this review, concerning repair of a custom power wheelchair. My mother's custom power tilt in space wheelchair needed a wheel repaired, the day before she went into the hospital. We drove to 2 other local assistive mobility places and they were absolutely no help to us. SOUTHWEST MOBILITY, however were friendly and willing to help us immediately. Julio, one of their repair men could not have been more kind, efficient and helpful. A few weeks later, when she was in rehab, there was a mechanical issue with her wheelchair and the rehab hospital was incompetent to find someone to repair it. My mother called Julio and the next day, he came over to the rehab hospital and fixed it immediately. He even called me on my cell phone, just to let me know that everything was going well. I rented a BRAND NEW wheel chair from thrm to go to the Air Show on Saturday April 2nd I wheeled the chair up a handicapped ramp and the wheel broke, nothing I did caused the wheel to break but yet they wanted to charge me for the wheel and repair. The guy says "they don't break themselves" Well it may be a warranty issue because the chair was brand new. I WON'T RENT FROM THRM AGAIN! So I missed the Air Show that only comes once every 2 years, I paid for the rental and got nothing out of it! read more
