I had heard about Wild West and their Birria bombs for a few months. A friend bought one and said…read moreit made really good birria. Wild West recently opened a store on West Ajo Hwy, next to Domino's and across from Tiny's Saloon. I walked in to a clean, well lighted store. I asked about the Birria bombs. They were close to the front of the store, on a rack, with no pricing. I asked the price ($15) and bought 3 and am anxious to try them out. I also bought a large container, from the refrigerated case, of beef posole. The beef posole is okay. I like my posole with pork and a bit more back-of-the-throat heat. But the flavor was good, lots of chunks of beef and hominy. I'll go back and get some of the salsa and tortillas. It's a nice store and I love that it's so close to home.

We were first-time beef share buyers and the team at Willow Springs is very kind, informative, and made the process seamless. The amount of thoughtfulness they put into not only caring for the animals but also ensuring the best quality and overall customer experience speaks volumes! The quality and flavor of the beef is exceptional and worth every penny. The overall price is extremely affordable for the convenience of buying in bulk as well as for the diversity of the cuts we were given which include a number standard and premium steaks, short ribs, roasts, ground beef, soup bones, brisket, and organ meat. They also sell individual cuts and ground beef at the local farmers market for those that aren't able or ready to commit to a bulk share (although they have also expanded the share sizes to accommodate all budgets)! Ben, Cici, Lisa and the whole team really do make the experience amazing and we can't recommend them enough!

It's worth taking the time to locate the shop. The building looks like new, and is pristine inside. The entry, market, everything, were all completely clean, spotless really. They are currently only open on Fridays. Check the hours before going. The meat (mostly beef when I visited the shop today) all looked great, but I haven't purchased any yet. There were interesting cuts, some fresh frozen and some fresh. I really want to go again - with someone who knows more about beef than I do - the next time it's open. I definitely want to try the beef chorizo. I did get some produce, jalapeño chiles and heirloom tomatoes, both greenhouse-grown on the farm. They also had fresh oyster mushrooms and a couple of other types of chiles.

You can get good quality meat and fresh veggies without getting out of your car! I ordered the frozen protein box and produce box, probably enough to last us for weeks (and many supermarket visits saved). You can get their Facebook page for items. The ordering process is clunking though. I left a VM with my order but no call back, so I drove down. There are signs on the front door saying don't enter, wait outside and someone will come get your phone number. It did after about 3 minutes. Waited in my car and another 5 minutes later, a nice lady called, took my orders and credit card numbers (visa and master card only). The fresh protein box was already sold out and they needed 30 minutes to put the veggies together. Hung out in my car listening to podcasts so no big deal. When time's up I pull my car to the loading docks. Boxes were ready but still had to wait 5 minutes. I think they couldn't find the credit card recipe. Anyhow, the nice young man put the boxes in my trunk and off I went! I wish they'd streamline the process. It's a distribution place and they're not used to dealing with consumers. All the employees are very nice and I'm happy to support this local business again.
